@The Zoom Listen to me, carefully. You are stupid. Go it? We havent even seen Pattison as Batman yet and now you said he is overrated batman. Bale’s batman is boring. The only thing good about that movie is heath joker.
Robert Pattinson and Harry Melling (Roy...the dude who dumped the spiders on his face) were Cedric Diggory and Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter series but never appeared in the same Harry Potter movie. Melling, by the way, was ALSO in The Lost City of Z.
I just finished watching this film. The narrative style reminds me of Derek Cainfrance's "Place Beyond The Pines". While this film has it's flaws, as all films do, one particular thing I noticed is that the intense scenes were very quick, and didn't include the cliche where "the protagonist begins monologing so that the bad guy can get the drop on him". No last-minute rescues or long, drawn out fight scenes. Martin Scorsese's films depict violent scenes in a similar way. In real life, the guy with the gun is going to make a decision: Either he's going to shoot you right then and there, or he's going to spare your life, depending on if he gives you the chance to explain yourself. In this situation, the preacher should have been more careful with his words and apologized for his actions, and maybe he wouldn't have been killed. Brilliant acting by both Rob and Tom.
I don’t think Arvin would have given a farewell to his grandma if he didn’t already plan to murder Preston. By then Lenora was dead, and Arvin was really out of hope by then, so in his mind killing Preston was the only logical move. Make no mistake, Preston was a goner. It was Arvin’s other killings that he probably would not have done had he had a choice, even if it was self-defense. Nice parallel to The Place Beyond the Pines though. I can see the semblance now that you mention it.
This is some of the best acting I have seen. Tom Holland isn't just Spiderman, ok? He is a gifted young actor, so stop saying he is just Spiderman. And Pattinson isn't just that hot dude from that vampire movie, he is also a very gifted actor! Hopefully he will at least be nominated this year, considering the small amount of movies that have been released.. He is such an amazing actor. Twilight could do nothing to stop him..
I LOVED this movie. It'll be a while before I can watch it again. But for how hypersexualized Robert Pattinson was/is in the media, this film made him feel so disgusting, seedy, and unattractive. It really speaks to the core of his acting abilities. This was hands-down the best movie I saw in 2020. I recommend it to everyone.
Everybody is making Spider-Man references and talking about how their both British, but can we just appreciate the acting here, specifically on Holland’s part. The suspense in this scene made me feel like my heart was going to explode and I feel like people should be noticing that more than your friendly neighborhood spiderman.
(born and raised in north alabama) i think tom’s accent is most impressive, it’s like scary how spot on it is. and robert’s is just over the top enough to fit a backwards southern preacher in the 60s. perfect choices for these roles
i'm from the south,, tom's accent majority of the time is pretty accurate but he does slip his spider-man accent at times but it's barely noticeable. robert's on the other hand is bad imo but it might just be that this is set in a different state than mine so the accents won't always match
I’m talking about the movies. Tom plays one of Saoirse’s cousins/potential love interests in How I Live Now. And now I think about it, they BOTH have done it with Zendaya, since she’s with Timothee in Dune.
Probably for the accent. Cause that accent...... it's not a good southern accent. I'm not gonna blame Tom for it, cause he obviously isn't southern, but that doesn't mean it's not a pretty bad attempt at a southern accent.

I love how Robert Pattinson acted like Jim Jones. Beautiful performance
When Tom clicked the gun at 1:39 and Robert panicked and said "God damnit, boy!" I lost it. That sounded so funny.

@Ai Des Living in Tennessee, where Pattinson's character is from, I can say that it is actually pretty good. I have been to one or two churches where they have preached almost JUST like Pattinson did. Were they as creepy and mean as Teagardin was? No, but the preaching style was still the same. Everybody is making Spider-Man references and talking about how their both British, but can we just appreciate the acting here, specifically on Holland’s part. Some people from the South have criticized their accents though, claiming they don't sound like legitimate southerners.
i'm from the south,, tom's accent majority of the time is pretty accurate but he does slip his spider-man accent at times but it's barely noticeable. robert's on the other hand is bad imo but it might just be that this is set in a different state than mine so the accents won't always match
