I know they are being facetious to sell there product, but it sure it sure was convenient how he choose all the peaks to cross with the stock Jeeps and then the valleys with the modded ones.
Good video and nice mods to both those Jeeps, the lightbar on the 2-door is great. That said, I see so many people spending a fortune modifying their Jeeps only to drive them around city streets, spotless, never touching a trail. I probably do more off-roading with my stock JK than most (with those tiny stock tires, too!). I'll upgrade as necessary...not to show-off, but for practicality.
Stopping on a hill is no problem for the 2012. It has hillside assist. It holds the vehicle in position for about 3 seconds while you take your foot off the brake and put it on the gas. I discovered it by happenstance one day when I changed my mind about crossing a low spot in a ditch and tried to back out. It's a very nice feature.
My stock 2018 jk sport s would have done that stuff, the 2 door with the larger rubicon 32’s and disconnected sway bars would’ve easily done those obstacles without scraping
i know it's a video to sell ur product but u can at least go up the same path every time on the hill climb...the 1st time the jku went up a different path than the jk and then both up a different path again once the mods were done
JK sport with 32's would probably not have bottomed out and with your quick disconects it probably would have made it further than the 4door even without lockers because its a manual transmission, you control the clutch and brake independently so lockers are less necessary.
Why is it that the tire was still in the air after the Teraflex modifications in both JK's at 6:04 and 6:48 ? What needs else needs to be modified in both Jeeps for the tires to stay on the ground?
funny, I used to semi agree with you... until I got my '12 Rubi. I'm currently in Germay and I try to minimize my impact to the ground as much as possible and don't like throwing earth or creating bigger obstacles if I don't have to. I have been in a few situations where 4low and "bld" was not enough for my kind of driving. the lockers worked great. no need for winch, no greater impact to soil. I'll never go back to no lockers in a rig. (thumbs up if you agree)
The blue JK has a TeraFlex 6" Long Arm kit with Fox shocks and TeraFlex SpeedBumps installed. While the 2dr is has the TeraFlex PreRunner Suspension System installed.
I've taken my totally stock 2 door sport up similar inclines with no problem at all. All this video shows people is that if you have no driving skill but plenty of money, you can drive a Jeep JK over just about anything.
That stock JK on 29" tires did not have to high center that hill climb, especially since it was done deliberately. They took the Rubicon on the smooth side. The sport only looked jerky because he was wonky on the manual trans. That bare bones stock sport can pass all of those tests! Of course, he works for terraflex.
AWESOME vid as usual!! I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY to say we're now a TERAFLEX dealer and can't wait to start selling/rigging up Jeeps in our area down here in TEXAS!!
guys waste too much money on mall crawlers. 3" lift with 33s locked front and rear will get you through about anything. but you must have some driving ability
the obstacles they tried to drive over without the lift would have been possible for the Rubicon if the driver was experienced. but im assuming they are just trying to make a point about their suspension
I have a 2011 2 door Rubicon, soon to be traded in for a 2013 Rubicon. I live in Vancouver Canada, but really want to come work for you guys and learn. :)
I could have got through the suspension section in the stock JK Rubicon, and the stock 2 door. I don;t care what suspension you have, it's all about picking your lines.
the BLD* system works by applying the brakes to the wheel that slips, to help minimize the impact on the ground, people don't realize that and flick mud and shit everywhere and get stuck rather than easing onto the power. i want to get a rubi but the price scares me away.
The Rubicon is definitely more capable than a Sport in stock format with it's lockers/4:1. Go with the Sport, that will give you more spending cash for upgrades.
for the 2 doors he says "wheels in the air, not good" at first... but after installing the lift kit the wheels are also in the air yet passes the test lol
Julien Prégent The put lockers in it with the lift so it didn't matter if they had wheels in the air. Also the tires didn't leave the ground until much later with the mods on.
+Julien Prégent Also what about the whole Brake Lock Differential system? Even if a tire is in the air, the BLD system will still provide power to the other wheel. Sure it's not as good as lockers, but that doesn't mean it's absolute shit.
Does anyone else notice that bright shiny intercooler behind the grill? The stock motor would have a lot more strain on it pushing 38's without that $5000+ supercharger upgrade.
I can't wait to get my 2013 rubicon. So many different routes to go with it. Wanting to put 35's on it, it also being a daily driver, I live in Florida so it'll also be in the mud. Which would be the best setup for me?
I am in the dilemma of buying a Rubicon or sport. do you think a sport with 2.5" lift and 33 tyres will be as capable as stock Rubicon? I am asking this because I have a limited budget for now and if I buy the Rubicon I won't be able to do any modification on it for a while but if I buy the sport I have the rest of the cash in hand to spend on lift and tyres. what Is your advise? Thanks
Hey Teraflex, I purchased my 2009 Wrangler Sahara JK. I am wanting to run some bigger tires on her. I am wanting to run 35", I am also debating between a 2.5" to 3" lift. I guess my question is, will 35" tires work on the Jeep without regearing? If not, what is the largest tire size that will work? Thank you.
I like this dudes humor, and I'm a little jealous of that stach
I know they are being facetious to sell there product, but it sure it sure was convenient how he choose all the peaks to cross with the stock Jeeps and then the valleys with the modded ones.
TheYankeeMarshal go back to shooting Sigs!
"We crossed the speed bumps at the grocery store with ease" LOL I about died
IronZombie I just got to that part and noticed your comment at the same time. I screamed in laughter! 😂😂💀
I hated the first 5 seconds of this video until I realized it was intentionally awful.
This is an awesome video!!

This video reminded me of the video training I get at work from the 80's LOL

I'm so impressed with the 4" teraflex short arm suspension I have on my TJ that I will always choose teraflex for my jeeps
My stock 2018 jk sport s would have done that stuff, the 2 door with the larger rubicon 32’s and disconnected sway bars would’ve easily done those obstacles without scraping

hawkdriver68 You sound like a wimp. No thumbs up for you.
Why does this video sound like an 80s PSA
"but since we've added the TeraFlex the suspension systems to both Jk's" (and wheels/tires) its really enhanced their performance..."
The blue JK has a TeraFlex 6" Long Arm kit with Fox shocks and TeraFlex SpeedBumps installed. While the 2dr is has the TeraFlex PreRunner Suspension System installed.

Getting groceries will never be the same!
Yes we do! All TeraFlex JK kits will work for the 2012's.
@dwkmaster you leave the stock electronic sway bar system in place and just install longer swaybar links.
My '18 sport s has the break traction assist, and makes this look easy without a locker
the obstacles they tried to drive over without the lift would have been possible for the Rubicon if the driver was experienced. but im assuming they are just trying to make a point about their suspension
I have a 2011 2 door Rubicon, soon to be traded in for a 2013 Rubicon. I live in Vancouver Canada, but really want to come work for you guys and learn. :)
I got SO in trouble for watching your videos at work from laughing so hard!!
I dont know. I think the stock JK Sport does pretty well, with the right driver.
Just saying.
the stock jeep is fine for mudding or doing some trails but it needs at least a 2 inch lift to give it any real serious trail or off roading
I could have got through the suspension section in the stock JK Rubicon, and the stock 2 door. I don;t care what suspension you have, it's all about picking your lines.
TeraFlex use's 1-1/4" flex rebuildable flex joints in our lower arms and 7/8" in the uppers. We do not use any heims in our kits.
the BLD* system works by applying the brakes to the wheel that slips, to help minimize the impact on the ground, people don't realize that and flick mud and shit everywhere and get stuck rather than easing onto the power.
i want to get a rubi but the price scares me away.
You're like the John Stossel of Jeeps.
yea the 2 door sport all that held it back was driver error on the hill climb but at least it was a manual
The Rubicon is definitely more capable than a Sport in stock format with it's lockers/4:1. Go with the Sport, that will give you more spending cash for upgrades.
There were some Sport/X packages that had a upgrade kit with it. Or you can buy a set of TeraFlex quick disconnects for $136.99.
for the 2 doors he says "wheels in the air, not good" at first... but after installing the lift kit the wheels are also in the air yet passes the test lol
excatly this test makes no sense
Julien Prégent The put lockers in it with the lift so it didn't matter if they had wheels in the air. Also the tires didn't leave the ground until much later with the mods on.
Chris Babb they didnt put lockers on it.
+Julien Prégent Also what about the whole Brake Lock Differential system? Even if a tire is in the air, the BLD system will still provide power to the other wheel. Sure it's not as good as lockers, but that doesn't mean it's absolute shit.
They did put lockers on the lifted Jeep.
You compared a 4 door Rubicon to a 2 door sport, fair comparison?
i hope my JK can grow up to be like that one day.
The 2 DR is running a TeraFlex PreRunner kit.
Does anyone else notice that bright shiny intercooler behind the grill? The stock motor would have a lot more strain on it pushing 38's without that $5000+ supercharger upgrade.
late af lol but there 40s haha
I think Dennis said they were 38s.
35 Goodyears on the 2 door and 38's MTR on the blue one. 538 gears. 3 inch and a 6 inch lifts, both long arm
Dennis
@rcfreak363 Actually the Orange PreRunner 2.0 is just fine, it was PreRunner (grey) 1.0 that was crashed.
Light bar on the 2 door looks like it's from a liberty. Also, a 2 door Rubicon would have aced the whole thing.
“Not good, wheel’s in the air,”
Proceeds to take lifted Jeep through, wheel immediately goes just as high in the air if not higher.
I live in south eastern ontario. Me and my buddies wheel our jeeps in calabogie. The stock two doors need alot less winching than the stock four door
It had our PreRunner kit with 35's installed on it.
It's running our PreRunner kit on it with 35" tires.
Subscribed!
Great video - you guys do a great job
i think even stock jeep can go thru that easy, this is too commercialized.
Changyu Ye agreed, my stock 2012 JK Sport with just upgraded 33" tires would do everything that 2 door would do on that course.
My 08 jku has seen worse than this course with stock suspension and 33s
the jks all came with lockers, its called bld, brake lock differential.
Nice job
I can't even afford a JK and I still watch these videos.... sigh..
Start off with a 2.5" BB or coil kit that allows you to reuse your factory shocks.
Make some subframe drops for the KL ! ;-) make the KL a giant side by side !
Now here's a question with the electronic sway bar disconnect when you do a lift on them do you end up replacing the whole sway bar unit or what?
Or for the cost of all the upgrades for those 38's on the JKU you could buy a cheap plane and fly over the roller section and hill
I can't wait to get my 2013 rubicon. So many different routes to go with it. Wanting to put 35's on it, it also being a daily driver, I live in Florida so it'll also be in the mud. Which would be the best setup for me?
"...driving these self-esteem annihilating grocery getters around was starting to have a negative effect on my self worth."
haha
What light bar is that on the sport jk?
It almost looks like the liberty rengade light bar
i
how much would it cost to turn a standard sport wrangler 2 door into something like the orange one in the vid?? looking forward to your reply!
what size lift is on the orange one? because i have a 2dr 2012 sport and am interested in a lift for it, considering either a 4 or 6.
do the unlimited sports come with disconnecting sway bars, or is it just the rubicons
That sport could have made it up that hill. You could see him *trying* to make it not go up...
Honor of Týr also took a steeper route off to the right of where the rubicon went.
Don't hate the mall crawler Jeep owners that don't know squat. They keep Jeeps profits up and provide enthusiasts with gently owned project vehicles.
It would be wise to ask that question of someone who does not make their money based on one of your two options...
How much does the kit cost minus the wheels and tires
Any info. available on the front bumper on the four door?
hey I have a 2014 jeep what is the engine temp when it's cold it go's to 1/2 in one block and runs 220 and 193 all over the place
What hood is on the blue jeep I want on
It's from a Liberty Renegade edition.
Those Raceline Wheels on thr 4dr look great. Are those 9.5" or 8.5" wide?
What lift did we just see? and what tires did you guys put on those vehicles? What diff gear mod did you do: 5.13?
35 Goodyears on the 2 door and 38's MTR on the blue one. 538 gears. 3 inch and a 6 inch lifts, both long arm
Dennis
I am in the dilemma of buying a Rubicon or sport. do you think a sport with 2.5" lift and 33 tyres will be as capable as stock Rubicon? and the he drove the 2dr differently. he didnt keep a steady monentum and it was a stick so stopping on the hill killed em
Only Rubicons come with the electronic disconnecting sway bars.
is there an option to ge them on non rubicons?
my fave is the orange one, too bad it is dead now :(
What size tire was on the two door?
No parking in front of the grocery store buddy!! lol
It's from a Liberty Renegade.
Thank you.
The wrangler rear springs are way too stiff! The rear tire isnt using all the wheel well potential. Better kits out there I assume?
The best
do you guys sell the prerunner kit for a 2012 JKU?
@teraflexsuspensions is that a 3" lift?
Id of l went right up that hill in my stock 2011 2 door. You also took a much different line than the 4 door. This is biased
nice
What kind of light bar was on the 2 door? I really want one for my 4dr!
I chose a sport and saved 15k. I can mod to whatever I choose and still save money,
Why they cut the chasis? For the shocks? Can some body explain me?
oscar ledezma because they installed Long Arm kits. This requires the removal of stock brackets mounted to the frame.
thank you for the information man
Wait did the Orange one get lockers ?
yea I saw that too haha...little more than a lift huh...the blue got flat fenders and upgraded axle too haha
Which lift is on the 2dr?
What are those pod style lights on the 2 door?
I Live a 2 minute drive away from that elementary school and smiths...
Not to be that guy... but what does JK stand for?
TeraFlex 6" Long Arm Suspension with 38" MTR's.
I thought that line was different. Speed can make up for lockers in certain situations.
And still no spare tire!
