When some Philippine Airlines Boeing 747 planes used to fly to some U.S. cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and Honolulu in so many years ago. And it was right before they retired back in 2014 and some Boeing 777-300ERs replaced them.
So close to the action. I grew up in Cleveland and it almost seemed like you could touch the planes they were so close, the good old days are long gone now. The Smokey 727s taking off and landing and the engines sounds were the best. Now a days all the planes are just ahhh.

My first trip to SFO was on a layover from SLC to PHX back in 2002. I really miss United's old battleship grey livery.

My parents always told me about how they could go right up to the gate and watch planes takeoff before 9/11, they loved doing that.
