I can smell this video of the Aviation Fuel. What a wonderful day and evening it looked like to plane spot. I love these archive videos from long gone aircraft, airlines, and in this case Stapleton International as a whole. Thank you so much for posting this. Absolutely incredible footage!
what a nice airport Stapleton was. unfortunately for me i was born in 1998 which was three years after the airport closed. but compared to the new denver airport, this certainly looked like a classic airfield
@@thecameramantraveler4830 Stapleton was a fantastic airport. I could get there from home in ~15 minutes and traffic was great back then. Nowadays I truly dread DIA especially if you have to fly out in the morning.
The irony is that United had the B-Concourse on DIA originally built to cater towards the 737. Yet here we are in 2019 and the 757s / 767's have begun to creep back in more and more. United is rumored to be moving their HQ to Denver. As they are expanding B-Concourse.

This stuff is Gold. Thanks for uploading it.
Awesome! That is the first Rocky Mountain DHC-7 I've ever seen in the final Continental colors.
Long live united airlines..beautiful back then..still beautiful today 2021.

rebuild Stapleton
the old airport property is now a neighborhood so probably wont happen
Nah the new one is better
I flew into Stapleton twice in the late 70s on Frontier. It was a good ole airport.
Who knew Peter Fonda was a planespotter?
