Zimbabwean truck owner Morris Musekwa sues SAPS

- The number of civil claims against the police force remains on a sharp upward trend. One of the most recent of is of a Zimbabwean truck owner Morris Musekwa.
Musekwa is suing police for millions of rands, accusing them of defamation of character. He claims he was wrongfully arrested during a 2015 sting operation on the East Rand. Charges against Musekwa were withdrawn after he appeared in court. But, Musekwa says the case has ruined his business reputation, with his fleet of trucks being ground to a halt. His company used to ferry oil between South Africa and neighbouring countries.

This investigation was on carte blanche about 2 years ago - it covered the ongoing theft of diesel and when the SAPS followed up on this hijacked truck they found all this fuel stored there. First what is a high jacked truck doing at his rented premises, and 2nd why did he have so much diesel in storage tanks when it is readily available at service stations?
You even don’t understand what you are saying? Morris Musekwa has rented space in the yard where other truck owners have rented spaces as well. He is just a tenant there and not the owner of all trucks parked there. So police ought to have investigated all the truck owners and not just Morris alone. Secondly Morris is an oil transporter & wholesaler, what is the offense in having plenty of diesel in his store? That is his stock and having it in plenty ain’t a crime my friend.

I fully agree with you. Where is the legal compliance. Why the truck that was caught stealing diesel was also " hijacked " Those who feel they have a right to swear at the SAPS- can they do the same in their country. Look at the set up . I see no legal compliance in those premises.
