Where are you Janis....?? We need you back here on earth.....your feelings, power and love is much needed......where is all the soul you had,,,,,Janis....we miss you !!!
When some other artists sing, sometimes you can hear their soul in their singing. When Janis sings, you can literally FEEL her soul and her pain. She is Janis. None better, ever! My Forever Queen!
I absolutely adore Janis Joplin. "Turtle Blues" & "Little Girl Blue" are my anthems. There was one other female singer whose SOUL you could always FEEL & her pain was so excruciating to hear I seriously can't listen to her songs... it is Billie Holiday.
One of the greatest entertainers of all time. She wore her heart and soul on her sleeve with every song she sang. I cry every time I see her or hear her.
I have heard that at a certain performance (it may have been the Monterey Pop Festival of '67) the crowd kept calling for Janis to encore. After two or three times coming back out she finally said something like "Honey, I love every one of you but I just don't have anything else to give." She had exhausted herself. Love you Janis. 😥
You can tell how hurt and heartbroken and even anxious she is here, wringing her hands and twisting the mic, looking around like she has ptsd from heartbreak. :(
I agree. Her alcohol intake at this time was so heavy. She looks terrible compared to how she looked on the same show the year before. PTSD from all of her harrowing binges is what I see
Janis I love your soul but I can slightly detect the pain and heartache of allowing booze and heroin take control over your life. You're One of the greats from my generation and a fellow Texan. May you rest in peace my sweet lady. Definitely a Pearl in the rough with so much talent. Thank you for making the music from my generation the best.
looks like a EV 635a interviewers microphone..only 150 ohms but sing loud into it its still distortion free...any way, heart and soul queen ... stay young forever
It's been more than fifty years and I still haven't seen anyone who can do this. But Janis, you look like you're teetering on the brink, and I guess you were; it would only be a few months.
+Ten Anthonys We have these accepted norms in music these days that won't allow any artistry. But, sure enough, there will be endless technically competent cream-puffs who will take a crack at something far above their average abilities. Janis was a soul mama. You can't copy that.
No human has ever sung with as much passion as JJ. Perhaps Elvis came close in his early years, but no one else. See this one: "Summertime," by Janis Joplin live, 1969 (4:40) th-cam.com/video/bn5TNqjuHiU/w-d-xo.html Elvis still had passion-and a voice!-with only a couple of months to live. “Hurt” by Elvis (Live) th-cam.com/video/0QqkMSDxU70/w-d-xo.html
She sounds desperate here. Obviously leaving Big Brother is starting to show. Pearl is just that:An album of desperation trying to win back the fans. This full suck boogie band just can't cut it and they really look silly.
My advice to young female singers is not to sing or be like Janis Joplin.Look how she ended up.She was just a pale comparison to real soulful singers like Etta James or Tina Turner. If Janis Joplin had of lasted as long as these ladies had she would have become an embarrassment. She just didn't have staying power.R.I.P. Janis,You did the best you could with what you had. You're lucky everyone was so stoned at the time that nobody could tell.
Oscar Harvey You have got to be kidding. She is the best white female blues singer of all time. Her voice and music had a lot of staying power. It was the drugs that did her in
Oscar Harvey what the fuck are you talking about? Etta James was a fucking crackhead even though she lasted longer. She was a far worse addict. Uppers just don't kill as quickly, shithead. Why the fuck are you watching this if you don't love Janis. Eat shit.
Janis R.I.P is forever !!!!!!
She is absolutely amazing
Janis Lyn Joplin hatte eine großartige Stimme
Where are you Janis....?? We need you back here on earth.....your feelings, power and love is much needed......where is all the soul you had,,,,,Janis....we miss you !!!
+james peters Indeed we NEED HER and we miss her !
She's blessed some girl on Americas Got Talent with her voice, so maybe that girl will be able to bring a similar spirit in the future.
You're awesome and RIP Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 - October 4, 1970)(aged 27)
She sang her ass off ! My girl yeah!
She left us way to soon,R.I.P. Janice Joplin❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
No one can top her voice and raw emotion. Music is not like this anymore. Thank God for Janice!
When some other artists sing, sometimes you can hear their soul in their singing. When Janis sings, you can literally FEEL her soul and her pain. She is Janis. None better, ever! My Forever Queen!

The World Misses You Janis!
R.I.P.
"We might not be here tomorrow." Sends chills up my spine when she sings that line.
Deeply touching me to tears.
Some deeply soul stirring stuff here. No one has or ever will sing like Janis. She's just one of a kind!!
Crazy that voice can come out of that little girl. Showing the love from Mississippi
One of the greatest entertainers of all time. She wore her heart and soul on her sleeve with every song she sang. I cry every time I see her or hear her.
Word.
Oh, man. She's so emotional at the end after she's done singing...She's one of those rare performers who gets consumed by the song.
This performance was always interesting to me because it was as if she new she would be leaving us soon.
One of my favourite tracks by her🥲the lyrics still ring true today. Miss you Janis ✌️
She left us way too soon. Love you Janis. You're an Angel watching over us.
I miss her so much- I was 18 years old when she died, and I feel like I am 18 again again when I hear her sing! Yay!
I have heard that at a certain performance (it may have been the Monterey Pop Festival of '67) the crowd kept calling for Janis to encore. After two or three times coming back out she finally said something like "Honey, I love every one of you but I just don't have anything else to give."

Love you Janis. 😥
She paved the way in rock and roll for women she was amazing another great Gone Too Soon
Awesome performance Love Janice
What an energy! What an soul! What an voice! O my god!
See how vulnerable she looks at the end -- baring her soul through her song. Janis, thank you darling.
god what a performer
amazing woman, it's like she knew it wasn't meant to last......
niishnob74 exactly , she sang with extremely sincerity from the soul
The one rock & roll death I never quite got over.
Incomparable Janis Joplin
She blows me away. Every time, without exception.
Soul shaking, direct, honest, challenging.
We lost too many great talents to drugs. We have been robbed of decades of beautiful music from Janis.
My favourite song by Janis. That was great!
One of a kind! Made your mark in a short time ❤💕
Love You Janis See you in Heaven
If anyone is enjoying the afterlife--- you know it's Janis-- she knew to get it while you can, baby...

Leider ist Janis Lyn Joplin am 04.10.1970 gestorben
Fuck. Wow. Who else has ever done that with their voice? That's... something else.
You can tell how hurt and heartbroken and even anxious she is here, wringing her hands and twisting the mic, looking around like she has ptsd from heartbreak. :(
She's just feeling the lyrics. At this time, she was in love with Seth and getting ready to get engaged.
I agree. Her alcohol intake at this time was so heavy. She looks terrible compared to how she looked on the same show the year before. PTSD from all of her harrowing binges is what I see
'we may not be here tomorrow'
I just commented the same thing !
I gotta give her a sweet hug. Janis. I won't turn my back on love.

"we may not be here tomorrow"
wow
It's been more than fifty years and I still haven't seen anyone who can do this. But Janis, you look like you're teetering on the brink, and I guess you were; it would only be a few months.
"We may not be here tomorrow"
My advice to singers, even beautiful great singers, would be don't even try to sing like Janis Joplin because you can't, you can't.
+Ten Anthonys We have these accepted norms in music these days that won't allow any artistry. But, sure enough, there will be endless technically competent cream-puffs who will take a crack at something far above their average abilities. Janis was a soul mama. You can't copy that.
That’s not what they tell me 🤠
They think _imitating_ is the same as _innovating._ #sad #NeverBeAnotherJoplin
But now there is Courtney Hadwin...has Janis reincarnated...you tell me.
R Leo Aristy she’s, good...but there will never be another Janis.
Janis Joplin, quite a personality but the show business drained at her live force, and after only 27 years she called it a day.
The purple!!
and you just watch...someone like Pink will come along and fucking ruin this song...
@jrdmedford Youuuu, do know she passed away the 4th. of october, 1970. right ?
Kept wringing her hands because the drugs coming out. Although, she was a beautiful person inside and out. Damn the drugs..
samuel19641 how do you know it's not just intensity of feeling, of sorrow, anxiety, suffering? Stfu
What? Shut up !
Too bad they didn't have hi-def cameras and VTRs back then.
Courtney Hadwin may be Janis Joplin re incarnate ❤️
👑
@hillbillyprofane DITTO - no one has ever come close, though many have tried.

Stole that song from brother Howard Tate 1967
Her Microphone is on. Lol
She sounds desperate here. Obviously leaving Big Brother is starting to show. Pearl is just that:An album of desperation trying to win back the fans. This full suck boogie band just can't cut it and they really look silly.
Strathmore Vaping You don't know anything about it.
No I can just see and hear it. IT SUCKS.
+Strathmore Vaping derp
James Gurley blows John Till's polished guitar out of the water. Full Suck Boogie Band just step away from Big Brother.
John Till was ready to quit because the fans were booing him off the stage. Janis begged him to stay then she croaked a few months later. Pitiful.

Oscar Harvey. WHAT ???????????? You are bloody clueless
Rude
Oscar Harvey what the fuck are you talking about? Etta James was a fucking crackhead even though she lasted longer. She was a far
worse addict. Uppers just don't kill as quickly, shithead. Why the fuck are you watching this if you don't love Janis. Eat shit.
