    I just bought my Sport S, with the stock 245/75-17 @31”and love the nice quiet ride and gas mileage, at around 24 at 65 mph with only 150 miles so far. If I get bigger tires I won’t replace the wheels because I like them as they match the Granite Chrystal Metallic. But would look into 255/75-17 @ 32”, but with AT tread.

    I've enjoyed your videos. I get my Gladiator Willys delivered this afternoon.

    That noise you now hear is what is called intake roar. The reason for more power? Is due to the fact the OE intake has those chambers built on the muffle the sound, but create resistance to the intake. That’s designed to keep the EPA happy with their sound check limits.

      I've never noticed any power increase with any CAI.

      Then why use one?

    Got as far as I can without actually having my Jeep yet, it’s on order. Video was a great help.

      How long until you have it?

      @@robmotiveplus not sure. With everything going on right now the time frame was 2-5 months. Most people I’ve talked to said theirs took closer to the 2 month range.

    I have installed Volant air intake and it sounds very similar to your wife’s. Also I did dual battery kit Gen 3 from Genesis.

    Rob, Great video Buddy!! As soon as I watched your Airaid video I got to wondering about the S & B. it’s like you read my mind. Awesome content, keep it up. appreciate your time.

    I think the S&B does look better and is way more convenient to changed the filter. Still seemed to sound pretty good

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gear Runner Bar far easier to change the filter! It seemed a bit quieter to me🤔

    The extra air chamber or silencer bobble coming off the intake piping just makes it look the same as stock. Afe’s has one also, I’m not sure why they do that in the aftermarket game. It’s got a tUmorr. I went with the quantum from AFe

    I put an AEM intake and Airaid throttle body spacer on a my 2001 3.4L Tacoma. What a difference in the noise factor! Push that throttle and it sounds like a turbo spooling!

      I like the Air Raid sound just a little better, but it’s not very maintenance friendly..😬

  • @CallOnJesus

    Great comparison! My son in law works for a Jeep dealer and he always uses S & B. I like the convenience but I really like the sound of the Airraid.

    • @robmotiveplus
      @robmotiveplus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Airaid is a bit better IMO. Just gives a little deeper sound that seems to last longer (if that makes sense!).

      @@robmotiveplus I know exactly what you mean. Now I am torn on which one I want.

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lee I know right! If you want sound, Airaid. If you want aesthetics, gotta go S & B🤔

    • @bassking666
      @bassking666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robmotiveplus I do think that the sound is quieter in the S&B due to the resonance chamber. Like the stock intake, the resonance chambers are to keep things quiet. Maybe I am wrong here, but from what I can see from the different pictures online, the Airaid has no chambers, where the S&B has that chamber on the tube on the opposite end of the filter just before it enters the engine.

  • @obrianmcc

    Buyer beware ... there is another channel that compared the S&B to OEM on a dyno. There was actually a HP and torque loss with the S&B. That's not to say with an exhaust and tune there would not be net gains, but intake vs intake the OEM perfromed better.

    Rob, what makes it a cold air intake? Appears to me the air is being taken in from under the hood just like the stock one.

    the Airaid seemed to give a throatier sound than the S&B, good video, I know the discription says it doesn't effect a dealers warranty but people have to realize is, that warranty statement is coming from a company thats does not cover the warranty on a Jeep, if it ain't FCA/Mopar approved? then thats just a opinion of that said company, again not saying that all FCA dealerships will void a warranty but they can & will if they want, then the person has to run the gauntlet of the justice system & good luck with that, for people that don't require the warranty to be valid, then have at it,,,! Nice Jeep once again,

    • @robmotiveplus
      @robmotiveplus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      While I don't see a warranty issue...you are right in that there will be a fight if a dealership tries to deny warranty based upon this installation (or any other).

    The S&B is definitely better looking, looks to be better engineered and higher quality BUT....I can't deny the Air Raid sounds better and honestly....the sound is where my money will go otherwise I might as well keep it stock.
