Great addition....sounded great too.....
There have been more than a few dyno runs using S&B intake kit in new Jeep 3.6 V6’s. That make LESS power over 2,700 rpm’s, with stock intake. While a small increase over, but then makes more noise than anything. The only CAI kits proven to make more power, across the rpm range are the K&N Black Series. That added over 11 hp and tq at peak rpm’s.
Will be adding it to my Jeep. Put one on my 02 7.3 last year. Very well built and looks great
I have ordered Volant intake.looks similar to SB. Now I’m thinking of returning it and place an order for SB which was my first choice.
Terrific video, followed it step by step installing the cai on my JL...super helpful. The sound is one thing (awesome) but the throttle response is something else! Keep up the great content and all the best.

What is the comparison of a high flow K&N filter on the stock intake to the “cold air” intake with the high flow S&B filter?

I took mine out, had issues with. I do have the 2.0 turbo. It kept triggering codes. Called them they sent a fix, but lost the power gained. Fuel economy dropped to 14 mpg from 17. So put stock back in along with k& n filter. Jeep is happy now. Plus the dealership voided my warranty with that s&b intake.

I coupled mine with the hood scoop ram air kit and a muffler delete. My Jeep breathes sooo much better.

Is there anyway this would fit on a 2011 JKU with the Rubicon hood? Cant see the hoods being to different in size wise for the vents. Or has anyone tried?

Will this install with a Rugged Ridge Snorkel for 2020 Wrangler? Doesn’t look like but thought I’d double check?

Didn’t really notice a difference.
I did the mishimoto cai on my 2.0t and can’t tell much of a difference, but I will be tuning it here in the next couple of days with the jb4
Update, I installed the mishimot cai and charge pipe and now along with my jb4 my Jeep is pretty speedy now

BEAST Projects so I’ve done some testing and I would say on average I can get a 0-60 of 5.8 seconds. I somehow got a 5.3 one time but I think my GPS must have been off because I haven’t done it again.
This filter good for sand dunes?
Should have recorded intake temp before and after. It has the sensor and your tuner thingy should show live data.

No you won't. Better off replacing the air filter with k&n and keeping all the other parts stock.
You wont notice a difference, you'll hear one.. so if you wanna pay $$ to hear it go for it..there will be no noticeable gains from a cold air kit without headers, larger pipes and exhaust.. u less you plan on doing all of that,this is money wasted and a "garage" wanting you to buy shit from their link so they get a kick back. Dont be that uninformative guy.

COPD is obstructive airway disease which makes it difficult to exhale. This would be more correctly no more pulmonary fibrosis. Exhaust upgrade would be COPD.

Good info. However, one has to virtually disconnect the entire cold air assembly every time to clean the filter just for a bit of more air, maybe a bit more sound & with no noticeable MPG? No thanks.

EPA has taken the public position that a vehicle designed and sold for on-highway use, such as a common rail diesel pick-up truck, can never be converted to an off-highway, race vehicle if that conversion impacts emissions controls or emissions. EPA is currently enforcing this position through the EPA’s 2020-2023 National Compliance Initiative (NCI), as well as other methods.
PPEI believes there exists (and has always existed) an exception under the Clean Air Act for modifying emissions and emission controls for motor vehicles that have been permanently converted to off-highway race vehicles. In response to EPA’s public position and its NCI enforcement, effective 9/16/2019 at 2pm, PPEI will halt sales of race products. PPEI will continue to sell its products designed for on-highway use and is making great strides in expanding the line of on-highway products that deliver the performance that our customers desire.
