I bought the S&B with the reusable oiled cotton filter. No need to replace it. Wash it, dry it, oil it and reinstall.

Nice opening ! Blue sky, palms, and the sound of gulls. Like the look of S&B more with the red filter. Installed the TRD on the Tacoma because it's damn pretty, and was surprised to hear more intake howl under load than the Tundra had with the same, I like it !
I like the red filter more too...but that’s the oiled version😬
I watched a video about repairing headlights that might help with this!
What if you install screen material over the inlet to prevent critters from getting in?

Awesome 👍. No issues with mine. Make sure you place the MAF sensor the same direction and orientation as stock and disconnect the battery before install.
No problem as this shows you're taking care of your truck.

Hmmmm you are missing a painting opportunity. That S&B logo on the cross pipe more or less in the middle.
If I got the dust off one part it would make the other parts look terrible so it becomes a engine bay dusting. If you put the McGuires hybrid ceramic coating on the hard poly parts it is little easier to clean.

How many miles did you have on your S&B air filter before you thought you needed a replacement?
A little over 5000.
You can blow out that dry filter with a compressor to get more life out of it. Do you know how many miles you do have on that dry filter?
3-4000 miles I think.
I’m sure you can...but it needs to be good and dry before you put it back on👍

Mine is the throw away version.
S&B filters are so expensive. I just ordered one for my truck and it was $65 per filter.

Hey Rob, reading some comments on Jeep Forums, people mentioned constant CEL’s on the earlier S&B version. The fact you didn’t mention any thrown codes is a good sign S&B corrected the problem.
Hey Greg. The only way it could throw codes is improper positioning or installation of the MAF sensor. S&B could have produced units with the wrong MAF location, but I’d guess most problems were caused by improper installation.
I had one. It kept setting of my check engine. They sent me a replacement, that worked, but then performed lile crap. Exspensive garbage. I took it out, put original in with a k&n filter. Performed much better.
The only thing that would cause a check engine light is improper installation of the air flow sensor. This is not a problem with the CAI but rather the installer.
