Hannah, you are such a bright star! If you use this enthusiasm when you teach, your students will remember you when they are old and gray. I just did the unthinkable. I put a Riley Sager’s book on hold at the library (through Libby). I have a 12 week estimated delivery. I’m gonna give him a try even though thrillers aren’t my thing. The pink billionaires’ book sounds intriguing even though I don’t usually like rich people behaving badly stories. I had six 5-star reads in June. A bunch of my favorite authors had new releases. But, it was a reread that was my favorite book. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness is a paranormal fantasy with witches, vampires, demons and mundane humans. It is a tale about the differences between these races and why they don’t mingle. It is especially important to know that humans did hunt and kill witches in this world. The other three species do everything they can to not be noticed by humans. Demons are not the horrible monsters we normally associate with that name. They are some of the brightest, most intelligent and creative people (including rock musicians). They are off in their own little worlds and are very easily trapped by their own genius in self-destruction. Vampires are vampires, but they can walk in daylight. Witches come in all shapes and sizes. Some of them tend to be jealous of their own kind if they have less power than their neighbor witches. This is a series about love, friendship, mistrust, destructive hate, jealousy and power. Of course, the hate and jealousy is where the evil lives. Not my usual read, but I reread this series every few years and it remains my favorite for many reasons, including character development and incredible world building. On the 18th a new book in this series is being released. I am beside myself with anticipation.
If I ever want a smaller TBR I need to steer clear of your videos. 😂 I have Stillwater Girls on my list since I was supposed to read it last month for my in person book club (oops 😅), can’t wait to read it!
Great video! I just discovered Minka Kent and love her writing. I'll definitely check out her backlist. I have Stillwater Girls on my shelf so will be reading that soon.
Loved your video!! I must absolutely read the 2 books so far in Lauren Asher’s Lakefront billionaire series!! The way you describe those books sound so amazing I love a slow burn romance and when there is more build up and tension!! My favorite books of the month were Live and Let Chai by Bree Baker and I Must Betray You by Ruta Septeys! They were both just so good!!🩷☺️📚
The cover of The Hunting Wives looks so intriguing, but EW, I’m thankful to know that so I don’t pick it up! That’s not something I would enjoy either. 😮
Abbey Jimenez writes the best male love interests...ever. Just for the Summer is actually my least favorite by her, but still, even my least favorite was better than most other romances I read. Lol. Also...The Marriage Act was AWFUL. I was so disappointed in that book because I had read The Passengers and really liked it. But The Marriage Act was one of my least favorite books last year.
The Stillwater Girls was so good!
