Adding Holly & Through the woods to my list. I have been meaning to pick up Hidden pictures for awhile. I'm ready Home before dark next month. It was on my tbr for this month but ran out of time to get to it. You have a lot of great spooky recs! 👻
You already know I’m obsessssssed with Grady Hendrix, especially How To Sell a Haunted House. Grief and also generational trauma… so good. He’s coming to St Louis in January and he’ll sign up to three titles.. I’m definitely bringing HTSAHH to have him sign! 🎉
Oh my goodness first of all that intro 💀🤣🤣🤣 Second of all I have so many of these books on my actual shelf that I just haven’t read yet and this should be my sign to pick them up! Third yes I’m so glad you included Hidden Pictures that is one of my absolute favorites! I also almost through the book across the room when I came across that drawing! Not to mention I was reading this at night sometimes but that just made it even creepier!! Also loved The Last Word it totally creeped me out also I think from that one being something I can see happening in real life! I loved this video so much!! I’m just like you Hannah I love a good creepy scary book! Right now I’m trying to make my way through Steven King’s It and let me tell you so far it has not disappointed it is creepy and scary right from the start!! You simply must make it a read one October! It’s so good! 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻🤡🤡🤡🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have you read The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson (a Carrie retelling) or When the Reckoning Comes by LaTanya McQueen? I think you'd like both of them.
You MUST read some other books from Simone St James!! Murder Road was great, but not her best and different than some others she has written. Definitely go read The Sundown Motel, Broken Girls, and The Haunting of Maddy Clare. Love those the best! The last two are kind of like historical fiction horror. Great vid!
If you are looking to read more Stephen King (and you should because he IS the master) I would highly recommend The Shining. If you have seen the movie, forget that altogether. The movie only very faintly resembles the novel. What you said about How to Sell A Haunted House -“it’s horrific……..(but) this book tackles so much more than a haunted house story”. You could say the exact same thing about The Shining. You convinced me to give that book a try. I hope you give The Shining a try.
Oh yes, Steven King. I don't read a lot of horror but do enjoy some. King is the most skilled storyteller. The Last Word definitely makes me think twice before posting a bad book review. Rock Paper Scissors is awesome! I want to read Hidden Pictures BUT reviews keep scaring me away. LOL Let's have tea! I'm in!
The pictures and the ENDING of Hidden Pictures… oh my goodness. 😮😅
Oooh I love these recs, I needed some new spooky reads! 👻
Happy to be of service 🤭🤣
I enjoyed each and every rec. I’ve added about all of them to my TBR. Some I’ve already read. ❤❤❤❤ we need another one of these.
Aw, thanks so much! 🥹
