I was WAY more bummed than I let on in the video. It took me nearly six months to find a matched set… 😢. Oh well, now I’ll just make a new friend or two as I renew my search. Thanks for watching!
People take the headliner out when the cloth gets a hole in it as there is foam up there that deterioriates. The foam will swirl around and get in your eyes in my experience. I too was lucky to still have the headliner and was able to reupholster it.
I quite like the load distribution valve on mine. My truck came with the optional Dana 44 which means it has the larger drums. Occasionally I tow a trialer with 4k-5k lbs and it is very noticable that the rear brakes do a lot more with all of that weight back there. Same with putting a over a 1000 lbs in the bed.
I agree that when the distribution valve is working and adjusted properly they are a benefit. I converted mine to disc brakes when I did the 8.8 swap and eliminated the valve. This truck is mostly a pavement and light trail rig, so the disc brakes are awesome.
@@PardeeShopShenanigans I bet they are awesome. Out of curiosity, how do the parking brakes work on the disc brake conversions? Is there a mini drum brake in the middle of the disc or is there a manual action of the caliper.
@@PardeeShopShenanigans Yeah, that dang brake control device is a P.I.A. if it doesn't work right. I wish I'd ordered mine with the D44 axle. 🤦♂️ the rear brakes wouldn't assist in stopping without having at least 500 lbs in the bed.
I'm lucky to have one mj and it looks like you have 3. I saw where you broke your sun visor. So I took sun visors from a 97 to 01 xj. My dome lights didn't work but I had power to those. I was able to find a xj/zj ceiling center Console. I cut the console down to about an inch from the lights. I ran new wires to both the visors and to the dome lights on the upper center console. I have some lights and visors with lights. Hope that made since. Let me know if you have any questions. I really enjoy the videos.
Hi John - I would love to see some pictures of your finished overhead install. Can you post them in the comments? Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for watching!
Definitely brought a smile to my face, yeah I was the one harping about Mickey's height sensing prop' valve. Have to ask about papa smurf hspv delete. Did you leave the mj brake fluid distribution block for a 50/50 bias, or did ya swap an xj prop' valve for 70/30 bias?
Good morning! I was definitely bummed to snap that darn visor clip but… stuff happens. My videos are admittedly a bit unrefined and candid. LOL I kept the stock fluid distribution block on Papa Smurf. I don’t haul anything heavy enough to know whether it impacts my stopping power, but the addition of disc brakes at the rear seem to work just fine. I suspect if the rear axle were still drums that I would feel the difference. Thanks for contributing and thanks for watching!
All of the interior trim is made of cheap plastic that eventually rattles and shatters if you try to remove it. I gutted my cab and tossed it all in the trash because it's not worth giving my headaches to someone else. If your girlfriend doesn't like a barebones interior, she can walk!
My headliner started to fall about 2 years ago. I took it out used spray cement and glued it back on. It’s still holding on great
my heart sunk when that mirror clip broke :( Awesome video!!

thank you so much this helped my research!
Awesome! Good luck with your project, and thanks for watching…

I just bought an 86 Comanche! It’s got the 2.8L v6 in it. It’s such a neat little truck I couldn’t pass it up!
I'm totally biased, but I love these trucks. Simple, durable and classy lines all in one package. Thanks for weighing in and have a great Christmas!
@@PardeeShopShenanigans you too!!

...I had 50/50 bias of white eyed shock and a grinning chuckle at the irony of the visor clip snapping with the part vanishing to the abyss.

Well I am trying to figure out how to add the pictures and I don't see how to do it. I am not the most tech savvy
I would be interested in seeing those. If you want, you can email them to: PardeeSolutionsLLC@hotmail.com
That's called a proportioning valve.
Sometimes I juggle terms in the moment... LOL
they sell clips new
I have found a couple repops that folks have 3d printed, but they didn’t hold up well. Do you have a lead on better quality clips?
