Great video! The part I love is talking about updates. Even keeping something as simple as 7zip up to date matters. I remember a couple years ago I think now 7zip had a critical vulnerability found which dated back 10 years of releases or so.

Thank you for the kind words! Appreciate you stopping by. You're 100% correct, every application has its own attack surface. That is one reason why I advise people to use the minimum number of programs that they need.

In linux I can make my system look like windows 7 (most importantly the start menu, in like 3 clicks) and not worry about as many vulnerabilities. If only I had known it'd take time to get Debian up and running without significant bugs

Linux is a great option! I ran Ubuntu for 12 years

What are some other myths about cybersecurity you've heard that concerned you?

One of the most ridiculous ideas I've heard someone say is old operating systems like Windows 7, XP etc being "more secure" because nobody writes malware for them anymore

lol that is a good one, I've heard the same. For some ancient systems like '95 it can be a bit true. But they get bitten eventually even if it isn't right away.

Amazing video! Just a small suggestion - I think adding a bit of animation could make it even more engaging for viewers. Nothing too fancy, but simple ones like in your thumbnail - maybe with the character doing some basic actions or adding a bit of text - would really level it up. Keep up the great work! ❤ looking forward to more videos

I wonder what your thoughts are on using air gapping as a security measurement for out of date/legacy operating systems (e.g. windows7 ,windows xp, etc...)

I think that is a valid form of protection. At that point, assuming things are properly air gapped (no route to the air gapped net from other networked devices) the main thing to worry about is physical security.

I use windows 7 and got bsod, it's really scary....

You should look into Windows 10! The upgrade from 7 is free. Or if Win10 is too heavy for your hardware, Linux is an option!

Not to be rude. But your eyes are so bright it look like they're staring at my soul, lol.
