This camera responds drastically different depending on lens choice, especially in low/poor light. One of their fast f1.7 primes opens up a whole new world of quality and focus speed vs kit G 12-60mm in those situations. Appreciate your review of this unsung mft offering from Panasonic!

100%, I picked up the Pan-Leica 15mm 1.7, and the low light performance was very impressive. Shot in a dimly lit street around midnight, 1600 ISO, handheld 1/50th at 1.7, really sharp. Didn't expect the results tbh. My kit 12-60 is getting sold and putting funds toward a 35-100 2.8, to combine with my 12-35 2.8 and 15mm 1.7. It's not as good as my full frame, but much better than I expected from a lighter kit I picked up for gigs requiring travel.

I own this camera for 4 years now and am really happy with it. I was looking for a weather sealed camera with good stabilization as I often shoot outdoors in the mountains or street and found this to be an ideal package. Light, compact, but still with a very good grip, which for my large hands is a must. As correctly pointed out the build quality is excellent and I would even say unmatched in this class.
Lenses of course make a huge difference. For good results shooting indoors you really want to get some prime lenses, but they are small and comparatively cheap. Same for portrait. When it comes to zoom lenses, though the kit 12-60 lens is light and small, it is really only that, a kit lens. By swapping it out to the Leica 12-60 you will notice a huge improvement in image quality, and as it is also a faster lens, it delivers much higher quality even in rather poor lighting situations. And though the Leica is not cheap, the combo is still less expensive than anything you could compare it with.
What are the alternatives? The Nikon Z50 has no weather sealing and a very limited choice of lenses. Then there are the Sony Alpha 6600 and the Fujifilm XT-5. But both are significantly more expensive and especially the lenses are also way more expensive and a lot larger and heavier.
Then there is the OM Systems OM-5. It is probably the closest match. It has maybe a somewhat better auto-focus, is even lighter and smaller and fits the same lenses. It is more expensive but what I really don't like about it is the ergonomics, as the grip is way to small for my taste. It also has no headphone jack and a smaller viewfinder. The viewfinder of the G90 is fantastic, by the way.
For a more video oriented camera there are the Panasonic Lumix GH5 or GH6 or if you need a truly perfect autofocus the G9 II, but again, they are all significantly more expensive and bigger.
So for my use case, travel photography, the G90 with some nice glass is still the best camera on the market.

Thanks a lot for the time you took to write this comment! Highly appreciate it. 😃
The lenses do make a huge difference indeed and with the right ones for someone’s needs you can get amazing results.
A friend of mine only uses this with long telezooms because they’re just much smaller compared to full frame alternatives

How about 4K foto? Still good for print A2 or A3? Because 4K foto can post focus and burst foto.

I currently own both cameras (2)G9's and (1) G95. The G9 in my opinion is better for stills/photo, overall image quality, slightly better dynamic range, and especially B/w. Therefore I use the G9's for my client work. The G95 is my travel camera due to its smaller size. The G95 has a feature the G9 lacks Live View Composite, this feature is great for different types of long exposure photography.
