So excited for this new travel series!! Holy smokes it's so fun to see you guys back out on the road/in the air haha. Loved this video and can't wait for what's next😆
@@Joelfriend would be awesome. Do you have a sort of travel guide video for southrast asia ? The best time to go to which country? Would be really helpfull
Thank you for this video! I’ve been tossed between a 55l and 75l travel/hiking hybrid backpack, and everyone seems to push towards smaller backpacks. Watching this gave me a decent idea of what can fit in a 75l, especially considering that I want to be able to use it in both cold and warm climates.👍+1
You're heading to SE Asia again?? Cool if you are! 🤩 Would be awesome to travel there more! Great packing video. 75 litres would be quite big for me even though sometimes I'd appreciate the extra space. I normally travel with my 40-liter backpack which works great for me 😄
Yes, maybe I should of been more clear as a guy 70 Litres is okay but it does look very big on Emilia, so maybe not the best for her! 40 litres is great, must feel light with just 40!
Handy video, I'l be starting my 5-6 month backpacking trip to SE Asia in mid Nov, maybe I'll see you out there! If you ever need a camera man let me know, I'll be bringing my kit with me!
great video Joel, I was also planning on going on a long backpacking trip soon. would you recommend SEA for this time of year ? I plan on traveling for 3+ months
Great video! I was wondering, usually it's not recommended to drink water in foreign countries other then mineral water from stores, as they are filtered and sterialized. Does the wattle bottle you mentioned works for water from a drain, without becoming sick? Thanks in advance dude! 😁 Keep these insightful videos coming!
Another few things I’d add. Collapsible water bottles, a decent small portable charger (I got a really good one for £20) and a good neck cushion for those long haul flights especially.
Hi Joel, Great video & advice as I am about to head out to SE Asia for 2 months before onwards to Aus/New Zealand. Can I ask if you take internal flights ( Krabi up to Chiang Mai) did you get away with the backpack as Cabin or did it need to go in the Hold?....Ps I only just found your TH-cam but loving the videos & advice. 👌
Hey Joel, I was wondering how do you carry this backpack & your camera bag at the same time? Do you then just have to carry the camera bag in your hand or? Hope to hear from you as I'm about to travel soon and idk what to do 😂
Hey Joel!! Absolutely Love your videos! When were you looking at landing in Thailand? As we should be there soon too and it would be awesome to go for a drink as we haven’t met ANY other vloggers on our trip so far 😂 and we miss British humour 😂
Hey Joel, thanks for the video. Do you ever worry about losing all of your stuff on a flight if you have to check your bag? Was thinking of going smaller like 30-35L with a day pack to avoid having to check it. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thought was going to be a lot more stuff. All I ever take is carry on bag (it’s a very light weight bag) and I fit all that in my carry on when I go for 4 week trips
Hey Joel!! We are currently compiling our packing list for upcoming travels 😁 we also travel with some camera gear, laptop, etc... and are wondering how you found carrying all of the more expensive equipment in a backpacking that doesn't have lockable zippers or things like that?? Did you ever run into any troubles?? We will be staying in a combination of Hostels, Hotels, Airbnbs and other unique accommodations! Would love to hear your feedback/advice 🤗
I’ve never had anything stolen (apart from sunglasses potentially or I just lost them) south east Asia is super safe jus have to be careful, I don’t stay in many hostels anymore but always try lock valuable stuff away. But some hostels do not have lockers so keep that in mind. Hope that helps! 😊
Get travel cards before you travel to the country I personally use Revolutt - revolut.com/referral/joelg5nz!FEB1-23-AR-H1 And for sim cards get them there or get an eSIM before you travel such as Airalo!
What’s the best way to save to go travelling I have a full time job but I pay rent and costs to travel to work and I don’t work set shifts would it be best to get a part time job to help out ?
Hey I hope you don’t mind me answering as I was in the same scenario 😅 the biggest thing was a lifestyle change for me which freed up a lot of money… Instead of spending it on stuff that I didn’t physically need I put it away and went without it (which was crazy hard in the beginning) but this helped massively towards saving money for travelling. Also having a set concrete figure of what you would like to save helps as well because you can break it down to small savings numbers which seem a lot more achievable☺️
One tip with your wages is Pay your bills, then pay your savings, then pay yourself. If you pay into your savings last it’s never as much as it could be.
Hey Joel Absoluetly adore your content and am learning at lot from you. But i just did a lil check on your partner safety wings and it seems they are only somewhat legit and use a really bad policy that sadly is legal but is morally the same as scamming people. Just telling you this so you maybe check up on what kind of sponsors you are working with and if they really are a good company to recommend to your followers. lots of love
bro, you definitely overpacked IMO. Lot of those things you are carrying can be bought cheap on the spot and then thrown away when you go back home, like flip flops, t shirts, most of the clothes basically, toiletries, sunscream, etc. There is no need for 70 liter backpack, 50 is in most cases more then enough and provides much more freedom of movement during the travel which is the most important thing
