What a great clip, my friend lived in Coatbridge I went to visit him and his family from England, it was my first time in Scotland. Lovely people, I had a GREAT time.
Thanks for this series, left coatbridge 50yrs ago. Liz Morgan, my first girlfriend lived on lomond Rd and I used to to go visit my aunt Mary reilly on dudley drive using the bus temimus terminus. I used to have to run around all those streets looking for Joe Hegarty's van of an early evening. Anybody remember Joe? Would love one on espieside if you ever get round to it, born and raised in espieside crescent till I was 4.great work and thanks for the memories.
Hi Peter i remember Joe well, he worked with the Coop before going it alone. he moved to Mount Vernon to live. After leaving the van he opened a shop across from St Pat`s Chapel on St John Street, my mother worked in the shop, hope this helps. I am thinking about doing Espieside and Gartsherrie to finish the trilogy off.
Joe was a great guy, always gave my mother tick till Friday,my Thursday night quest was always for a bag of tatties,a tin of beans,a loaf and 10 capstan..lol
I also remember hoping right back in time a guy called Nicky Tambourini who went about on a bile selling candy apples and the first ice cream van I remember in the street was a guy called Ian Muir, maybe the Walls van was first not too sure
@R mc glinchey thank you the guy with the bin my dad's sister stayed across the road and 2nd and 3rd sister stayed in 15 wye crescent another on the road leading to the shops as you looked fron the grass near 15
@@Thomas-yk2vg I know where you are, i had a long chat with the guy with the bin, sorry to see that lane now closed, used it most days going to school, long long time ago
@R mc glinchey there were 2 1 going up to the shops and othere down to the road. When young used to go in the 70's and when my dad's sister said you want some ginger was wondering what? I then know the meant juice and they say I loaf of bread I sometimes say that and being a fiber I sometimes call it a half loaf lol
I went to St Bartholomew’s in the 1960. What Miss Mellon could do with a leather strap on the palm of your hands. Beyond painful. It’s amazing that we never told our parents about her nastiness and no school member would challenge her.
I'm glad to fine this again as on my other phone that broke and nice to see when the shops were 3 on each side and my dad was from Wye Crescent with you should his sister stayed there and 1 just down where the guy was out other not far from summer Lee 1 on lomond Road 1 in Tennant drive haven been over 30yrs and looks a lot has change as my dad came to Fife from Townhead Coatbridge
Hi Joseph, I still think part 1 was better I lived on that side so I am slightly biased. Well nobody else was bothered. about Townhead so I took it on and am glad I did, it has brought a lot of memories to a lot of people, so was worth all the effort. Glad you liked it.

Hi David, was your brother Billy?
Hi David. From an old neighbour that lived a few doors up. Your sis was my best mate.
Kathie, I think Townhead Part 1 was a lot better than Part 2, maybe because I spent most of my time on that side of Townhead.
Thanks I'll check that out then. Whereabouts did you live in Townhead and are you still there?
Hi, my house was in Derwent Drive.Right behind the houses looking into Dee Street.
I am living down at the bottom of Calder Street in a place named John Smith Gardens
