They only showed people with the same opinion. That's not very balanced. It would have been interesting to hear the opinions of Russians who support the invasion and to hear their reasons. There's two sides to every story.
How could anyone not be against this war? How can anyone defend the senseless destruction of cities and innocent civilians? It's an atrocity and a crime of immense proportions. There is no justification whatsoever for this invasion. Those responsible must be held accountable.

Russian people, as a very ordinary Canadian, even I know this is not The Russian people’s war, it is Putin’s war. Putin who is supported by his henchmen and is enforced by his greedy creatures. I for one deeply respect those Russians who at great risk to themselves and their families protest. I recognize the courage that protesting or resisting takes. Atrocities are being done in your name but we do understand that many brave Russians are as much victims of Putin as Ukrainians are.
I believe most Canadians thankfully understand this. I have had some sympathy for those Russians influenced by the internal propaganda but, I admit, that sympathy has vastly diminished. People need to open their eyes and make an effort to understand the intentions and actions of those who claim to lead us. There is power in the people but only if they choose to affect it.

He will explode with rage when his children play noisily because he’ll hear again the Ukrainian children crying in terror. A dropped plate will have him shouting at some unlucky family member. And, of course, his sedative of choice - vodka - will only make his family life worse. That’s part of the legacy of war. Teachers will write on those soldiers’ children’s reports, “Alexei seems unable to concentrate on his maths studies.” “Milana keeps biting her nails and shaking her hands.” “Ksenia lacks maturity for her age and repeatedly bursts into tears.” The children will have inherited secondary trauma from a pointless war.
With that said, did you condemn the war in Iraq? Afghanistan for 20 years? Libya and the present day occupation of Syria? I am curious to know what are "Putin's lies?" How would you react if Russia and China built a million man army and provided hundreds of billions of dollars worth of military equipment on your border? The Russian chronicles are merely a tale and inaccurate. Kiev was a city over 1000 years before Russia even existed. Kiev was Kievian Rus before Novgorod and when Oleg arrived. Putin is kidding himself if he thinks any part of Ukraine belongs to Russia. We can see that Israel belongs to the Jews, similarly all the lands around Kiev of Kievian Rus belong to Kiev as a single nation and city state. Russia's beginnings are a wanting child begun as a captive insurgency having nothing of its own; a captive state that was reeking in servitude to Mongolia and invented by Mongolia. The entire culture of Russia from Moscow is Mongolian centralized power, a pagan culture of no empathy and Christianity. The Christianity is tainted as a state religion or theocracy and politicized. History is often obscured by being written by the ones in charge. The history of Ukraine has been obscured by the Soviet Occupation and cultural appropriations. Moscow in an attempt to appropriate a history not its own, rewrote the narrative of history to cover up its compromised origins; Kiev and Ukraine is a history much older and more civilized; making contributions to civilization. Russian despotism becomes the blueprint, foundation & model for every despot nation, look at its allies; the error of its ways has spread throughout the globe; much like the message from the Holy Mother at Fatima. Those that are sympathetic to Russian atrocities can find similarities in their own histories. Ukraine has a democracy at a local level Moscow never had and fears. Russian boundless ignorance is a type often found in the poorest of nations, and usually the poorest have a history of the hardest tyrants over them that also inflict poverty, physical and spiritual, on others they attempt to subjugate, a reflection of their own lives, an abomination of desolation...

I can't believe young professional Russians are leaving when they are in no personal danger. I vividly recall when the Soviet Union let no one leave unless they were a prominent dissident. Their families & acquaintances are rounded up & interrogated to find out who they are loyal to. Yeah. Saw it too. Russia is not North Korea thay everything is blocked. They still have ways or means to get information from the outside. But there they are... celebrating and supporting the "special operation". I honestly felt digusted at them. There are some good Russians who have free minds, but these tend to be the well educated. From what I have experienced and what I see here, most are not educated and easily brain washed by the government propaganda and don’t protest. Those that do want to protest are too frightened of the state, so we see relatively little protest from within Russia. It is a very scary country and not easy for us in the west to comprehend, as we take our freedoms for granted.
There's universal compulsory education in Russia, it's one with the highest education rates countries in the world. The support of invasion by some Russians is a matter of propaganda and persecution of free media, not education. No your facts.

I listen some songs of soviet soldiers in Afghanistan, these songs are beautiful, talk about, fiancée, brotherhood,..It's maybe not so politic but the music are sad and melancholic. I simultaneously think that it is appropriate that they feel ashamed, (Yes, Russian people as a whole were complicit in the rise of Putin and his jingoism) but that individual Russians who have already spoken out against Putin and the war should also not be judged individually. Respect the fact that, both Ukraine and Russia are two independent countries, the people of Ukraine have the right to make their own decisions about joining the NATO or not, they don’t need to acquire Putin’s permission, this democracy, the people on that soil control their own destiny, not foreign politicians, new era.
Protesting a war under the hammer of an authoritarian regime takes great courage, and I salute all Russians that bravely stand against Putin and the war in Ukraine. I was moved by the voice of the young Russian man proclaiming, "I feel ashamed", and I like to think his words reflect the emotions of many in Russia.
My full support to the Russian people who are listening to and understanding the truth. And my advice to those who aren't or haven't is... Please please please open your eyes. Look for the truth yourself and question one thing. Why can you not open your mouth and speak your feelings with out the fear of being arrested or worse. The truth is as plain as that. Without the freedom to say anything you want with out it being about threatening a person with death or injury is what you should be able to do. If you are not happy with your government, you should have the right to say so with out any fear of any punishment. That is what democracy is. The ability to be able to speak and not be tortured, imprisoned or killed. It is freedom to choose your own rulers. And the ability for anyone to become your leader if you want them to be. The WAR with Ukraine isn't only about them. It's about the Russian peoples freedom. Democracy isn't bad at all. Its about making our countries fair and about putting the people in the power to guide our countries towards our needs as a whole. Not about the wants of a person that's in charge. Second speaker summarises everything very well in two clear statesment: 1) Concerning the war, we never wanted it (the Ordinary people) 2) We never voted for this government (We'll probably never know how many fake ballots were use, and how many for opposition candidates destroyed, but hopefully the way things are panning out, they won't be in a position to do it again).

Russian people, as a very ordinary Canadian, even I know this is not The Russian people’s war, it is Putin’s war. Putin who is supported by his henchmen and is enforced by his greedy creatures. I for one deeply respect those Russians who at great risk to themselves and their families protest. I recognize the courage that protesting or resisting takes. Atrocities are being done in your name but we do understand that many brave Russians are as much victims of Putin as Ukrainians are.
I believe most Canadians thankfully understand this. I have had some sympathy for those Russians influenced by the internal propaganda but, I admit, that sympathy has vastly diminished. People need to open their eyes and make an effort to understand the intentions and actions of those who claim to lead us. There is power in the people but only if they choose to affect it.

In addition to the unnecessary destruction that President Putin is causing in Ukraine, he is bestowing a burden on his returning Russian soldiers.
Each soldier will bring home recurring nightmares of the harm that he did. The sight of his wife will recreate images of weeping Ukrainian women.
He will explode with rage when his children play noisily because he’ll hear again the Ukrainian children crying in terror. A dropped plate will have him shouting at some unlucky family member. And, of course, his sedative of choice - vodka - will only make his family life worse.
That’s part of the legacy of war. Teachers will write on those soldiers’ children’s reports, “Alexei seems unable to concentrate on his maths studies.” “Milana keeps biting her nails and shaking her hands.” “Ksenia lacks maturity for her age and repeatedly bursts into tears.”
The children will have inherited secondary trauma from a pointless war.

Russia struggles with an identity crisis since its beginnings unoriginal to the ethnic groups. Its errors are numerous, 50 million killed by Stalin in WW2, allied to the Nazis to kill the Poles for their defeat in WW2, Holodomor where millions of Ukrainians were killed and grain stolen, and constant antagonist with Europe. We even have the Holy Mother announcing Russia’s errors at Fatima. Russia is a Mongolian culture and all the first Czars were Mongolian and Batu Kahn is the author.

The Russian chronicles are merely a tale and inaccurate.
Kiev was a city over 1000 years before Russia even existed. Kiev was Kievian Rus before Novgorod and when Oleg arrived. Putin is kidding himself if he thinks any part of Ukraine belongs to Russia. We can see that Israel belongs to the Jews, similarly all the lands around Kiev of Kievian Rus belong to Kiev as a single nation and city state. Russia's beginnings are a wanting child begun as a captive insurgency having nothing of its own; a captive state that was reeking in servitude to Mongolia and invented by Mongolia. The entire culture of Russia from Moscow is Mongolian centralized power, a pagan culture of no empathy and Christianity. The Christianity is tainted as a state religion or theocracy and politicized. History is often obscured by being written by the ones in charge. The history of Ukraine has been obscured by the Soviet Occupation and cultural appropriations. Moscow in an attempt to appropriate a history not its own, rewrote the narrative of history to cover up its compromised origins; Kiev and Ukraine is a history much older and more civilized; making contributions to civilization. Russian despotism becomes the blueprint, foundation & model for every despot nation, look at its allies; the error of its ways has spread throughout the globe; much like the message from the Holy Mother at Fatima. Those that are sympathetic to Russian atrocities can find similarities in their own histories. Ukraine has a democracy at a local level Moscow never had and fears. Russian boundless ignorance is a type often found in the poorest of nations, and usually the poorest have a history of the hardest tyrants over them that also inflict poverty, physical and spiritual, on others they attempt to subjugate, a reflection of their own lives, an abomination of desolation...

I can't believe young professional Russians are leaving when they are in no personal danger. I vividly recall when the Soviet Union let no one leave unless they were a prominent dissident. There are some good Russians who have free minds, but these tend to be the well educated. From what I have experienced and what I see here, most are not educated and easily brain washed by the government propaganda and don’t protest. Those that do want to protest are too frightened of the state, so we see relatively little protest from within Russia. It is a very scary country and not easy for us in the west to comprehend, as we take our freedoms for granted.

Protesting a war under the hammer of an authoritarian regime takes great courage, and I salute all Russians that bravely stand against Putin and the war in Ukraine. I was moved by the voice of the young Russian man proclaiming, "I feel ashamed", and I like to think his words reflect the emotions of many in Russia.
My full support to the Russian people who are listening to and understanding the truth. And my advice to those who aren't or haven't is... Please please please open your eyes. Look for the truth yourself and question one thing. Why can you not open your mouth and speak your feelings with out the fear of being arrested or worse. The truth is as plain as that. Without the freedom to say anything you want with out it being about threatening a person with death or injury is what you should be able to do. If you are not happy with your government, you should have the right to say so with out any fear of any punishment. That is what democracy is.
