These are the types of World Series games that define Fall in St. Louis...
I remember being in Linn, MO signing up for college classes and watching this game. Never seen my own dad cry tears of joy till that night. Next night I went to my now ex-best friends house to watch the game.
Absolute elation after Craig made the catch to seal Title No.11 into the history books. The Parade a few days later was epic. literally almost a million St. Louisans jam-packed the streets of downtown, people literally pulled kids out of class to attend it.
Baseball is a religion in St. Louis, period.

But the year I was born in 1955, the year the Dodgers their first WS, my Dad told me the story about everyone that he knew in St Louis County, where he lived, were rooting for the Dodgers. What a great game. I have so many memories with this Cardinals team. I had just moved from Texas into STL in August of 2011 right before the Cards went on this run. My dad was born and raised in STL so turned me into a Cardinals fan real fast. I still remember, as a 10 year old, watching all the playoff games with my dad. The clutch game vs the Astros when the Braves lost and the Cards clutched the Wild Card, the NLDS against the super, 100 game winner Phillies where everybody said the Cards would get demolished, the NLCS where the Cards beat their biggest rivals of 2011, the Brewers, in 6 at Miller Park, and of course the World Series between my two homes. St. Louis and Texas. I made so many memories in just 7 games and will forever be a Cards fan. It changed my life for the better. Thats what baseball can do for you. Unlike any other sport it is a journey and your fanbase is your family. Wether you're a Cubs fan, Rangers fan, Cardinals fan, WHOEVER... Baseball is an amazing sport. I also loved the great runs the Cards went on in 2012 against the Nats, 2013 when they went to the world series, and 2014/2015 for what they brought also. Hopefully the Cards can return to the playoffs in 2018! Thanks for reading if you did.

One of the two greatest baseball games I ever saw, separated by 36 years.
1975: World Series Game 6. I was 13, and my family had moved from Texas to Dayton, Ohio the year before. I was so excited to be able to go to a Major League game and saw the Big Red Machine play 10 or 12 times. I can still remember staying up late on a school night to watch that incredible game. Even though it was a really hard loss to watch, I knew that I had seen an iconic sports moment.
2011: World Series Game 6. Two unbelievable comebacks by the Cardinals in the 9th and 10th innings. It was like watching a movie. You couldn't have scripted a game like that. To all the crushed Rangers fans, I'd offer that the Baseball Gods decided you weren't going to win that game or the series, and there was no way to change the outcome.

i remember watching this game live in my house. since we live in texas and are rangers fans we invited almost all our family to watch the game as if the rangers won they wouldve won the series. i remember that inning, everyone was quiet. then the crack of the bat on the tv froze us all. we were devastated. we needed one more strike and wouldve won. i remembered this game all through out the astors vs nationals games and felt devastated.

Hurts to watch this. Such an incredible game for a team that was absolutely a blast to watch. One strike away twice...
