thanks for the shout out ! i first discovered you when someone sent me your video about “ 5 reasons not to get a 90s mtb “ i had to make a video response to that 🤣🤣🤣. thx for being a good sport and keep on truckin’ 👍
I am beyond humbled to be mentioned in this video, and I couldn't be more thrilled with how you describe my channel; it's exactly the vibe I'm going for. I really respect and look up to you as a fellow bike nerd and excellent content creator. Thank you so much.
Glorious video! I really appreciate the shoutout, thank you so much. I found your channel when I was looking in to buying my Velo Orange Polyvalent and watched your review a thousand times. I’m grateful for your channel.
Wow, Russ ❤ thank you so much! You’re literally the first channel I’ve ever subscribed to on TH-cam. The gorilla monsoon I ride to this day was because of your review even! Thanks for the shoutout, supple life forever!
Thanks for the shout out and I’m definitely going to check out all of these other channels. Still bummed it never worked out to meet up for a ride while you were still in Montana, but glad to see how much you’re enjoying the new location!
You deserve an MVP medal for this compilation. 2nd life bikes, oldshovel, bike farmer are some of my favorites. Syd fixes bikes is also sick and loamranger.
thanks for the shoutout Russ! We did indeed meet at Ritchey when I was working there. very nice to meet you. appreciate the kind words about the channel.
Getting a shoutout from one of my favourite TH-cam creators is such a treat. Thanks Russ - you've inspired me for a long time! And it's amazing to see the full gamut of cycling on display. Great work 👍🏼
What a thrill to be mentioned in this video! Your channel has inspired me in so many ways. Not only do you make great content, but you’re doing it for the right reasons. We really appreciate all that you do for the alt bike community.
Thank you for the shoutout Russ! Really cool to experience after watching you for over 7 years. Despite being clad in a gaudy lycra skin suit, I am happy to join you in the fight to promote lower, sensible gearing and comfortable bikes.
I too love my 25yr old Roadbike and a day out in the Lycra is bliss ,come rain or shine, but as I have just crested the 70yr old hill I too would love some alternative chain
Thank you for the shout out! I've actually been watching your videos for the last few years and emailed you when I was taking a break in Barcellona. Again really apreaciate the shout out. Greetings from Istanbul 👊
Nice line up of channels for those of us nonracers that just want to ride bikes. One of my favorite channels is " Keep Smiling Adeventures" in the UK. Josh does a fantastic job videoing and editing. He usually then puts out a follow up video "Before You Ride" about what bike, gear etc that would go well for the route. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas to you both.
You are the best! Thanks for the shootout. You are my inspiration for making videos on this platform and showing people that there is more than one way to enjoy cycling. Thanks. PS. Sorry for the fast-talking. I promise I will slow down 😉
Last night I rewatched and paused at every TH-camr suggestion to add to my subscription list and it was awesome to see the difference in subscribers already even in the short time your video had been out.
This was great! I just grabbed half a dozen or so new channels, and I actually couldn’t believe it when I noticed that I was not yet subscribed to yours. I had watched quite a few of your videos and always clicked them when they’ve popped up in my feed!
Great list! I'm actually subscribed to (or at least have watched some vids on) most of those channels. Awesome that Unli Ahon is in there. Merry Christmas from Ontario, Canada!
Thanks Russ. You were my first inspiration for alt bike TH-cam. I’d like to give a shout out to two channels worth watching. Pensilvania Dirtbags and another is Terry B.
A great list. I’m also a big fan of Trace Velo. He’s definitely more on the roadie racier side of things, but with oddball Chinese components and bikes. His channel inspired me to breathe new life into an old bike with an L-TWOO groupset, which also gave me a chance to learn how to install a groupset without risking a bunch of cash on a more mainstream groupset.
He is also one of the only people I see besides Shifter that have Priority bikes. I wish more people would use/talk about/review them. They are a great bike company
Thanks for sharing this suggestions Russ, a couple I had already come across, loads that I haven't! Can i suggest Rolling Existence - they are travelling from Germany eastwards. I like the honesty of their bike packing journey about the day to day practicalities, joy and serendipity.
What a great idea. Some of these suggestions I already follow. Some others I will check out. I will assume that some not mentioned here is just due to length limitations. I ride mountain and urban single speeds and I love the nerdy side of things and at a party pace! Keep up the good work.
Great list , added a couple new to me channels! You have always done a great job of promoting creators you enjoy. Hope you and Laura have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !! Cheers
Your videos are up there with the best imo. Super sensible, real world scenarios. I make for your channel knowing ill pick up useful tips. From England, all the best
You missed "hobocyclist", (&mine..ha ha ha!) Hobocyclist has done some good "very cheap" touring (mainly on fold up bikes), also other cheap living ideas (living in cars/ cheap food finding..dumpster!) For very cheap touring this channel is a must & Andy appears a v down to earth guy. He's does alot of wildcamping to keep costs down!
Hi there!! We subscribe to a few of the channels you mention. We used to watch RAD cycling the two young ladies but it seems their channel as disappeared. Oh ! and GCN for a laugh!!! Stay Safe you two!! Love from England xx
So true about Booth. His are deep data dives for the nerdiest. He's always responded to my questions . . . some have been rattling around in my head for years - even decades. I'm an old geek.
Cycling TH-cam is a gift for us people in television land, thanks, Russ, for your work and for calling out the good work of your peers. Tim Fitzwater and Henry Wildeberry and Hardtail Party are three favorites of mine, my answer to your query about viewer preferences. GCN, too, with their increased off-beat content these days, not that it ever was just about watts and aero, they just get a bad rap from people who probably ask to speak to a manager everywhere they shop. And at age 65, I'm still into all of it because I grew up that way on the OG alternative bike for kids, a Schwinn Sting-Ray. I rode everywhere on that bike,, streets and trails and empty lots and even the gravel farm roads outside Fresno under that warm California sun in 1971 and one afternoon me and a friend had to ride super fast after we stopped to look inside a barn and the farmer came looking for us. That was my friend's bad idea. 😀
+1 for Probably Riding. He inspired me to start making some videos myself, because of his simple yet beautiful and authentic style using some Action Cam and iPhone footage and nice voice-overs
My channel has suffered this year, but I hope that I can focus on the channel in 2025 and that I end up in Russ’s list next year. Was stoked to see a lot of channels I watch in here, and even subscribe to some new ones too! Thanks Russ!
It’s nice to have the cycling community mentioned .In the x versus y world or why a is better than b or ten things they don’t want you to know of so many TH-cam’s it’s nice to hear some co biker together in a rich and varied world vibe coming through
Thanks doe the list. I follow a few of the channels you mentioned but I will double double back to make a list oof the others you mentioned/ Good Form raising everyone up a notch
I really appreciate this episode. We have a pair of Surly ECRs so I’ll be checking out Ottawa. I also have been trying to relearn the little bit of Spanish I used to know so will also try the Spanish bike channels. I do appreciate content that gets into physics of efficiency and I’ve nerded out on tire pressure and aerodynamics. But only for making it easier for wife and I to be more efficient with our trail riding, bikepacking, and touring. The racer centric channel can’t keep my attention very long. At the other extreme, the “navel gazing” channels lose me at the intro. What I do hope to see more about where to find “communities”, clubs, and adventurous people who seek to make human powered travel more social and festive.
I already follow the majority of the english-speaking channels you mentioned. I'll have to turn on subtitles for the others. Thanks for the new recommendations, Russ!
I am familiar with about a dozen of your thirty-six and am a member/patron of two. I thought of three other alt-bike and DIY channels and then realized they aren't small creators like in the 400Kplus realm. My favorites are Henry Wildeberry, Tim Fitzwater (Industrial Gravel), BikeFarmer, and discovered Victoria C. last year.
Some great suggestions I'm going to check out. Still going to have a hard time resisting watching the latest GCN battle: "28 vs 32 vs 40: Which tire size rules the Winter Solstice?????"
I'd shoutout Loco Joe! Cool shades and even cooler bikes. Could easily win a cheap bike build off without spilling his coffee Someone please help with timestamps 😂
Great selection, I subscribed to many a channel today ;-) And I would coin 2nd life bikes from the UK - I liked his videos on 26' bikes so much I got my own this summer :D
Bummer my channel didn’t get mentioned. Oh well. Someday, I’ll be able to say “I’m somebody” like Steve Martin once said in a famous movie- holy cow, this current generation could never handle the jokes in THAT one. Still love your channel dude!
Preparing to buy my first bike helmet. I want it to have room to fit a fleece layer to cover my ears for winter cycling. A friend recommended trying them on at a shop vs buying on the web. -- Suggestions?
I'm not a racer anymore, but I still like going fast. That being said, I like all kinds of bikes. Thanks for pointing out the German language channels. German is my second language. I spent two years at the Uni Salzburg studying Germnanistik and Poli Sci. Sounds like a good way to learn bike related vocabulary.
Russ gracias te admiro por tu dedicación y contenido. Tengo a la gran mayoría en mis suscripciones. Te falto Crust, ultraromance, bluelug y muskrat trails.
Great list Russ. I love seeing all the different channels out there.

Love your channel mate, such a nice vibe, especially considering how fast like life in Korea must be.

As half of Fitzwater Cycles moderator team I thank you for giving me more grumpy stubborn cyclists to babysit! 😅🤣🤣🤙
Ha ha! I resemble that remark!
Getting a shoutout from one of my favourite TH-cam creators is such a treat. Thanks Russ - you've inspired me for a long time! And it's amazing to see the full gamut of cycling on display. Great work 👍🏼

Old Shovel. I love that guy

Really cool that you’re using your platform to promote other creators
totally !! super rad Russ
2nd life bike also needs a shout out. Great fun alt bike UK channel!!!
I love that dude!
I think this video is a great community builder, and I love it, Russ. Thanks for using your platform to promote others!
Thanks for the channel suggestions. I'm happy to know that I'm already following about half of them.
Thank you for the shout out! I've actually been watching your videos for the last few years and emailed you when I was taking a break in Barcellona. Again really apreaciate the shout out. Greetings from Istanbul 👊
That was fun! Appreciate you showcasing other cycling folks. 👍
Hi, Forgot RJ the Bike Guy. Great for detailed and clear instructions on all sorts of bike repairs, adjustments, overhauls and the like
+1 for Tim Fitzwater 😊
Nice line up of channels for those of us nonracers that just want to ride bikes.

Carlo Villarica - No Boring Days, is also from the Philippines but speaks Eng. Great channel to follow as well!

I already followed a few of these (like 3), and I will check out the rest over the next few weeks, so this was a very helpful post. Thanks.
Thanks Russ. You were my first inspiration for alt bike TH-cam. I’d like to give a shout out to two channels worth watching. Pensilvania Dirtbags and another is Terry B.
Lots of great recommendations. Given how much cycling content I watch, I'm surprised that more of these haven't popped up on my YT feed.
A +1 for probably riding, that's the calmest shit I've ever watched. Love it.
I never heard of GCN until Russ kept referring to “GCN money” in many of his videos. Good British humor. ✌️
That was a really nice Christmas present to a lot of of these channels! Russ living the influencer life
Surprised you didn’t include Ryan Van Duzer’s channel, probably one of the best bikepacking channels here on TH-cam!
Ew
He is also one of the only people I see besides Shifter that have Priority bikes. I wish more people would use/talk about/review them. They are a great bike company
Thanks for all of these Russ. Probably Riding is my second favorite only to you. Restock the bandannas! So very useful!
Thanks for sharing this suggestions Russ, a couple I had already come across, loads that I haven't! Can i suggest Rolling Existence - they are travelling from Germany eastwards. I like the honesty of their bike packing journey about the day to day practicalities, joy and serendipity.
They’re on the list already :)
Zach's new touring vid was great and it's good to see him doing something different. His buddy made the video though. Great channel. Great ambassador.
What a great idea. Some of these suggestions I already follow. Some others I will check out. I will assume that some not mentioned here is just due to length limitations. I ride mountain and urban single speeds and I love the nerdy side of things and at a party pace! Keep up the good work.

Great vid! Thanks for sharing all of these. My feed got a major upgrade today 🙌
some really great channel call outs Russ! Thank you for your great bike content.
Awesome video, cool to check out all these amazing collection of creators.
Your videos are up there with the best imo. Super sensible, real world scenarios. I make for your channel knowing ill pick up useful tips. From England, all the best
Great video I have been looking for alternative biking. TH-cam shows. Thanks a bunch. Keep up the good work.
Nice list. One you might want to check out is Mat Ryder. He does really good tour videos, and I love his humorous comments.
I'll check it out!
Second this. May has good content
I love probably riding ❤

Great video, lots of good channels, plus a couple new ones for me. Hopefully I’ll make the cut next time!
I second that emotion!
Maybe someone will do a framebuilding version of this list. (@Daniel_Yang_ARTEFACT hint…hint…). You could make both lists @bkefrmr!
Maybe someone will do a “framebuilding” version of this list (hint, hint, YangMFG). Both you and HenryWildeberry could be on both lists!

Handy vid Russ, will checkout some of the channels mentioned, thanks.
Really great list. I'm thinking the Spanish ones would help me with learning better Spanish. Was Old Shovel omitted on purpose or accident?
Bookmarked. I'll be back to check on these. Thanks, Russ.
Nothing wrong with having more bike Chads in the feed. Well done.

So great, and so extensive. Thanks for doing this!
Definitely always gotta have my Probably riding episode with a morning brew.👍🏽

Thanks for this list. I just added a bunch to my personal lists. It is hard to find good bike channels sometimes.

links for the channels would have been nice, but still: great tips, thanx
Yes. Also an actual list to skim over. For the people who know 90% of channels...
Tim Fitzwater is really enjoyable to watch. Most mentioned channels are also bike farmer is funny and real also. Oh and you are fantastic also sir.
Fitzwater is impressive as Winter doesn't even seem to slow him down.
Yeah Tim has a great attitude.
A very useful list of channels. Thank you.
Great overview! Lots of channels I don't know yet...
Besides your channel, the one I enjoy and learn from the most is Josh Romero. Hope you're well PLP!
Some great suggestions I'm going to check out. Still going to have a hard time resisting watching the latest GCN battle: "28 vs 32 vs 40: Which tire size rules the Winter Solstice?????"
kickin line up Russ love the alt world of bikes.
I'd shoutout Loco Joe! Cool shades and even cooler bikes. Could easily win a cheap bike build off without spilling his coffee

Every time i watch one of Zachs videos, i want to ride fixies only.
I LOVE Zach Gallardo!

Thanks for some new channels to check out. Tim Fitzwater is great of course and as someone else mentioned, MatthewNorway has wonderful videos.
