Different goals man, wanna fight? train martial arts, wanna look insane? Body building, wanna be strong? Power lifting, want to master bodyweight? Calisthenics. You really can't compare them as their goals are different.
that's true but the most delusion and cringe I've seen is in the weightlifting community. Without a doubt.
@@bk341 every part have bad apples. Even if there are shitty people it still doesn't change the fast that the exercise itself is meant for different purposes.
Everyone has a goal that's delusional af you need to learn fighting

@@qwertyqwert2818 you see the goal of bigger muscles is pure vanity and cope most bodybuilders are pussies who can't fight and when did you need huge muscles to be aesthetic it's also very much sad how people's perception on what is an aesthetic physique is skewed
Lifting in the gym is for building basic stats for your training. I don't understand this whole idea that you can ONLY lift OR train, not both.
For real. A big boy who trains even just the basics is absolutely terrifying on the mat.
This is a dumb post but he is specifying bodybuilding and not lifting. I’m sure this guy and many other competitive Judoka lift.
A bodybuilder is someone who trains to be as big as possible, witch hurts athletic performance and pound for pound strength, lifting athletically + martial arts>>>>>>
@@Saddaddya big boy gas super fast

This is like comparing endurance running with playing football.

Better to do boxing+judo+gym. If you have any time. But if you don't just do judo. (Created some kind of war. For those dudes who sayin' just join mma.. They are right and not right. MMA trains every main martial art you need to know and you can combine, and it doesn't considers as martial art. You don't train judo in mma, but you train boxing, bjj, wrestling, kickboxing, and some taekwondo. What i'm saying is what boxing and judo is ultimate combination for defending yourself, and mma is combination of martial arts. Why train all kind of martial ats, then you can choose only 2 important for yourself? MMA can help too, but just boxing and judo is good. Gym increases endurance and maybe stamina, but it doesn't train how to attack or defend or even counter. So combine boxing+judo+gym).
Yeah, in real life situation you still need striking to close up the distance for grappling
Respect ✊ ❤
I'd say calisthenics is better for fighting.
@@irisbeyes2927 if it's not a joke i would say it's not true. It only increases your endurance and stamina.(if for fighting abilities)
Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, BJJ, and bodybuilding.
But I don't see what comparison there is between Judo and body building? 2 totally different things, done for different reasons. Sounds like the poster has a complex about bigger stronger dudes, even though bodybuilders are not training to fight.
Maybe you should start comparing other things that are just as similar, like playing the ukulele doesn't prepare you to swim. Lol Geezus.
That music scares everyone in UFC.

no one is disrespecting anything. You guys were offered a choice. Thats all.
You either build your body alone without properly using it (which is pointless), or using your body and building it properly (which yield the best outcome).
Judo, wrestling, boxing, muay thai all of this good
bjj?
@kKADENnn yeah bjj too, as well as Sambo, Leithwei, Kudo, Kickboxing, and certain forms of Karate like Kyokushin, all the martial arts we've listed so far are the ones that, in my research, have been proven effective in real fights, find a good gym in any one of these and train for like a year, and you'll find yourself capable of fighting off most people if need be (it's important to remember though that fighting at all should always be the absolute last resort, de-escalation and trying leave always comes first)
Did my first actual judo class. I didnt even do a throw yet it felt like an intense leg day
You will love trying a sparring with an older belt, these guys can manipulate your whole bodyweight. Also at the end of every round you will be so tired haha, but this will get better with training

optics is what literally everyone sees. your judo only matters if you compete, or if you get in a lot of fights, in which case, you should probably figure out why you get into so many fights
Not all bodybuilders have gigantic egos and think that they will beat everyone, I have a friend who is a personal trainer and he is one of the most humble and kind people i have ever met, he has done judo in the past when he was a young boy but that doesn't really mean anything he doesnt flaunt that in people's face's, so TLDR you can't group everyone into one group.
Your friend is the minority unfortunately. The egoistical bodybuilders are the majority portayed in media
Bodybuilders living rent free in martial artists heads 😂
Yes because they think that they can beat a martial artist Only with muscles
@@leonardoannavini9227no, it's just like 1 in 500 meathead bodybuilders that think that. Most realize that they train for bodybuilding, and they wouldn't expect a judoka or Boxer to get their IFBB pro card either
I don’t blame them, movies and tv shows got them thinking muscles is what wins fights, I’d be eager to give them that rude awakening too 😆
Then the martial artists always respond with “yeah because they think muscle wins the fight”
Every bodybuilder I’ve met knowns they won’t win. But I don’t really see them taking shots at martial artists 🤔
@@ofauvi2089I’ve been powerlifting for 6 years and know I certainly can’t beat a martial artist. Skill over everything
Honestly many martial artists seem super insecure about their lack of muscle mass. I’ve seen so many bodybuilders say a highly skilled martial artist could beat them. I very rarely see martial artists admit that a very strong bodybuilder could hurt them even without technique. I think it comes down to the fact that fighters cultivate large egos, in order to fight against well trained opponents.
100% I’ve mixed with both communities most body builders I met “nah man couldn’t fight my way out of wet paper bag but I enjoy what I do”
But not all but a fair chuck of martial artist “muscles don’t win fights” like no one asked or even some team contact sports they will be like “but i am training to be able to kick your ass if we got into a fight” after someone they know or are some what acquainted with chooses to play rugby instead of doing martial arts with them

I don’t know man…many times I visited regular gyms the guys for some strange reason look at me in assertive dominant look like they are somehow better. Opposites are martial arts gym where people are happy and do not try to put you down with their look. Maybe bcuz they actually know how to put you down physically and so called bodybuilders don’t. However it’s obvious that as 65kg Mma beginner I don’t think I can beat up 120kg bodybuilder. There is always a chance of lucky strike bcuz you can’t put muscles on the jaw right. Weight lifting is extreme useful in martial arts journey as well. Strength matters. So yeah it’s good to do both.
Lesson here is to know what you truly want for your mind and body, and work according to that desire. No reason to feel over-confident about something else that wasn't your goal.
Judo is awesome.
I'd say you combine a striking art (in my case muay thai) with a Grappling art (in my case bjj, but Judo is also really good) and get the extra strength with calisthenics. Although weight lifting is also useful as long as it isn't bodybuilding.
I agree but I just cant choose between bjj and judo. I like judo style but still confused can you help me pls
@@slhyilmaz if you like Judo, stay with Judo. Judo Is about as good as bjj, I just chose bjj because I liked the gym more.

Huge respect to Judokas and all martial artists, you guys are very tough and functionally athletic ! But Bodybuilding, Powerlifting and other strength sports are not just optic. El Aikido y el Tai Chi son ejemplos de artes marciales inservibles.
