Yes!!! I do stuffed animals, and the first few I made I was fairly defensive over, kept on my shelf, etc. Fast forward to now, I spent 6 hours working on a ladybug, threw it into my preschool classroom and let the kiddos go ham with it. I consider it free product testing for when I eventually sell them! 😅
I made several oven mitt/pot holders with a mix of knitting and crochet and I’m so happy every time my sister or sister in law posts a picture where they are cooking something and using them!! And at my house we use them literally every day!! Honestly they are probably the most well used items I’ve ever made!!

Pretty coasters! Remember drips (stains) are signs of love. I use very old dish towels that my mom embroidered. Yes, just for wiping water, but I use and love them everyday. They do have a few love marks, but they're not rotting in a storage box.

Those coasters are absolutely gorgeous! I'm learning to crochet right now and to combat that fear at least somewhat, I am only using machine washable yarns (lucky for me, I also just love the way cotton feels on my skin) But also, something I try to keep in mind with any crochet project that is meant for use or wear: Stains and other signs of wear and tear are just proof that the item has been loved and appreciated, instead of wasting away in a closet never to be seen.

@@satsumamoon it all boils down to yarn and needle size, pattern, skill and experience level and time you have available to actually sit and work on socks.......as well as the mental fortitude to knit on something as stab-your-eyes-out boring as sox.....of which I have none. @@satsumamoon - it’s the finest yarn I’ve ever used - almost like thread - and it’s an alpaca wool that’s just beautiful. I also have never used double points before so it’s taken me a bit of learning. I also am a university professor so was knitting and marking assignments - so didn’t get to spend more than about an hour a day on them.
