Im a little surprised Devils Never Cry isn't more iconic. It perfectly illustrates the journey and unending battle between Dante and Virgil. Which I would argue is basically the plot of the whole series.
Eh, I'd say the fandom that has played the third game accepts it as the theme song of the entire franchise. Devil Trigger is more popular, but we acknowledge the brilliance of this song as king.

Aujuai Hughes HOW? He literally sucks an entire city dry and gains a Mundas level power up. That may have just been Urizen, but he's still Vergil.
@@nsbathome I was talking about his character in general not power,for example he is very over the top and not calm and complex like he was in 3,so yeah he was downgraded.
And the years it took from 3 for them to finally make Dante utter that complimenting statement to Vergil.
@@henryvirtum1520 it's because when he regained his human side back, he learned of his own redemption arc as V. So that was incorporated into his psyche. It's what Sparda always wanted and probably noticed in his sons. Dante even asks as to why his father would leave each of his swords to specific sons. Dante rejected his demon side while Rebellion's power was to unite man and devil, and Yamato to separate them. By being full human as V, Vergil had to learn how to accept his humanity instead of rejecting it. Dante had to fully accept his demonic heritage.
This is why they always end in a draw now. Dante said to Agnus that the reason he overcomes that he also relies on his human side. It's a hint as to why Vergil lost in 3 eventually. He could cope with defeat and try again, while Vergil who always won, couldn't deal with being outmatched and his pride was his downfall.
Now he's more lively and dynamic. Having a son is also a catharsis, he's a lot like his father but he hadn't realized it. He left his legacy ie Nero to close off the demon world.
God seeing Vergil finally have a genuine big smile and Dante smiling back does something to my fuckin soul

bbad00 it wasnt talking.. it was their whole history and also Nero. You can tell from before Dante and Vergil fight that this is more like the only way they can interact. Their demeanor isnt nearly as grimm as it was at the end of DMC3, because Vergil’s pursuit of power its coming to its end. Nero was the proof Vergil needed to finally see his humanity is not something he should deny, since Nero, being only a quarter demon, is still stronger than him

@@ffffdsd Well, that's wasn't really a thing until DMC5 and is still not confirm. It's not like saiyans that that is a part of the lore, you could technically inferred it in the story, but Nero beating Vergil could actually just be a by product of Dante's damage. What DMC has always stood for is that what makes Humans strong is the fact that they have a heart which makes them fight like hell to protect what it's important to them. Is not really about blood, is more about the soul, which is what Vergil doesn't understand and why he ends up losing time and time again.

And .. In fact, Nero has the power to deal with Dante in DMC4 without the help of Yamato. And now, his full demon power has been awakened then I suppose ... he's now at least as equal as Dante and Vergil, with the power of the demons at full power. But with more determination than Vergil.

It would be cool if sparda had a dwarf like demon blacksmith that created rebellion and Yamato for his sons,kind of similar to the dwarf who created mjolnir for thor.and maybe that's how sparda gets a new weapon.

I think Vergil is the reason Dante doesn't use rebellion in Dmc 1 after seeing what Vergil became in Dmc 3 Dante was determined not to rely on his demonic powers he does use rebellion after Dmc 1 because of Trish and his better understanding of the difference between beings like himself and his father and those like Mundus and sadly Vergil he begins to embrace his potential in Dmc 2 and 4 he only ever transformed when nessesary in 5 he's left no choice but to go full tilt into his demon side in order to match Vergil but all his years of holding back and fighting with the force edge instead of rebellion is a major factor in why he's stronger than Vergil or at least a better fighter than his brother.
and picked up Alastor asap. Its just plothole coz of chronology.
That and Dante gets to train for years while Vergil was a husk so he is much more warmed up in 5 than Vergil who was rusting.

Everyone always talks about the "Steal a soul for a second chance, but you will never become a man" like, which is great and represents how Dante leading up to DMC 1 actively dehumanizes himself, but this line is just beautiful too.
