- Did you know that St. Augustine is the oldest city* in the US?! (*well, with a caveat) We spent a day wandering around the historic streets, having Australian coffee and meat pies, visiting Castillo de San Marcos and the St. Augustine Lighthouse, and eating the best popsicles ever. We loved the history and charm in St. Augustine and had a blast!

Help us settle a debate: what’s the correct way to eat a popsicle?
And I know I said I “licked” mine, but I really meant I “sucked” on it, but I just hate that word lol 😝
Oh dear has the channel become adults only 😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahahaha 🤣🤣
definitely sucking on it!!
I don’t know but my favorite is pineapple cilantro
Home! Living here for 33 years, being born and raised here, you don’t see what the big deal is, so it’s nice to see these vids that remind me of how great my hometown is!
We know the feeling and we’re so glad we could remind you! 🤗 We loved St. Augustine!
I love USA history and the historical Spanish heritage. Respects from 🇪🇸
Thank you so much for watching!
Been there many times from NY. It has been our vacation spot for about 12 years and we have visited 15 times or more. We have been there when vacationers flock there, and during off season, and have enjoyed it equally. Now we know where the locals go and how to avoid crowds, and to relax and have a great visit. Great food, beaches, and historical sites are a few of the best welcoming things that make it a special place to visit. We have stayed at the beach condos on A1A, and rented homes in town and have enjoyed St. Augustine each time. Daytona, or Jacksonville are about an hour in either direction for a day trip.
It’s such a gorgeous area! Love the mix of history, beautiful architecture, beaches, and more! Glad to hear it has been an amazing vacation spot for y’all!
The Haunted nighttime tour, horse drawn carriage tours, bisquits at Mary's, good food and spirits at Meehans Pub. A great place to stay is 93 King...the smallest hotel in St Augustine...literally! The food, the shopping, the history. Sooooo many wonderful experiences to be had there. We are looking to move there within the next year. Thanks for sharing your experience. I have never met a person who HASN'T enjoyed St. Augustine.
Thank you for sharing all of these tips! Lots of great ideas for us next time! 🤗
Love Saint Augustine. Such a cool, historic city. The drone shots were awesome!
Thank you Jamie! We agree-it’s an awesome city!
I love Katheryn’s “whoo” when Adams said he came home because he missed her. SO CUTE!!!
☺️😍
Great video! looks like yall had a great visit.I moved here in 92 and been here ever since.Beautiful community of people place and things.
We had a great visit! We’re glad to hear you enjoy living there as well! 😊
i live in st.augustine ! i love the downtown area during winter. the trees during winter downtown are beautiful because they hang lights around them and there is a hugeeee christmas tree!
Ooo we’d love to see that!
My husband and I went to St. Augustine for our honeymoon in 2018 and fell in love. ❤️ I think it’s so underrated!
Also, I cannot believe you guys only have 13k subscribers!! Your videos are amazing! ❤️
We hadn’t heard much about it before we visited and we loved it! And thank you so much-we’re so thankful for everyone who follows our adventures! 💕
Nice job ranking in search for Florida! You guys are doing great building a travel channel in the middle of 2020! Keep up the work!
Thanks so much! 😀
Sometimes when I'm at work and need to concentrate, I put your videos on a playlist and set volume kinda low, and listen through my headset because its like I'm in a coffee shop with the nice background music, crisp clear talk, traffic,/chatter background noise etc!
We’re glad to be a part of your workday! 🤗🤗
I just discovered you guys! So stoked! I just watched two of your videos including this one and looking forward to more. Your editing is great and you guys are very well spoken, great job!!!
Thank you so much Britt, that put a big smile on our faces! 😄 We’re excited to have you join our adventures!
This is by far my favorite place on Earth! So excited to see you guys go there... my favorite thing to do is the trolley tour- you get so much history about the city in one ride
Oooo we will have to do that next time! That sounds so fun!
I’ve lived in St Augustine pretty much my whole life and I’m glad you enjoy the city! We welcome you anytime ❤️ side note: a lot of the trolley conductors make up stories or fake history lol. Not a whole lot of information on those trolleys
I absolutely love it there! I have family that lives there. Best vacation spot!
What are some of your favorite spots? We definitely need to stay longer next time and hit the beach!
The way that she was looking at him is so cute ..Great video .love Sant Augustine :)
Thanks so much for watching Yanet! We love it there!
What a cuuuute city! Again, awesome drone shots...such a cool view of the city! Another fantastic video!
Thank you! 💕💕
We hit up St. Augustine as part of our little Florida getaway for Memorial Day weekend. St. Augustine on Saturday and then Canaveral National Seashore on Sunday/Monday. I watched your video in advance to see your take on the city and see if I overlooked anything. BTW, nice video. Good walking tour of the historic district and drone shots always win me over.
Based on your recommendation, we hit up the Hyppo and that was hit for all of us. Chocolate-dipped coconut for the win. We played this one low key and really didn’t have a plan besides seeing Castillo de San Marcos. Just had a nice time walking the city, stopping in shops, and enjoying the architecture. It really is a beautiful town. In the late afternoon, went over to Anastasia Island and hit up the beach and had Osprey Tacos for dinner. Good tacos but the smallest servings of salsa I have ever seen.
Thanks Michael! Glad you enjoyed the Hyppo, we really loved that spot! It's a great city to just stroll around and see everything. We almost got tacos there, so very good to know about the salsa size!
I live in St Augustine and you guys took some of the most interesting pics and gave a great little tour , great job ! Tfs
Thank you so much! Means a lot coming from a local! 🤗
Looks like you guys had a really fun time there. Great video!
YOUR VIDEOS KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER
Thank you so much! We’re trying to improve and make each one the best we can!
Hey guys, love your videos, my girlfriend and I stumbled across the Denver food video and because of that (and the RMNP hike) we are planning for a week in Colorado! Since then we have started watching your videos from the start, so it's a nice surprise that Adam lived in Sydney for a bit and loves meat pies 😂❤️. Can't wait to finally catch up to the latest videos, keep making great content and stay safe!
Hey! 👋 we’re glad we inspired you to go to Colorado! You will love it there! I loved my time in Sydney and can’t wait to go back one day and show Kathryn around. Those meat pies were dang good! Go easy on us on those early episodes 🙈! Thank you for watching!
@@AdventuresofAplusK amazing, we'd love to send you some meat pie and food recommendations if you ever do return! 😁😁
Never been to St. Augustine but looks beautiful and so interesting. Have to agree with Adam again on the lighthouse, stay back away from the edge! Did the John Hancock building in Chicago and i went up to the windows and almost lost my lunch!!! That's waaaaayyyyyy down!! Backed up to the elevator and stayed there until we went back down!
Ooo we haven't done the John Hancock building, just the Sears, now Willis, tower, which has glass cubes that hang off the building. Adam was not a fan lol!
Greatest Video Yet Guys!!! Love it!!!
Thanks so much Mitch! 🙌🏼
You mentioned the holiday. Were you at the Castillo on Presidents Day? I was there with my family on the weekend so we got to see the cannon demonstration. On Monday, Presidents Day, we were at the Alligator Farm. We spent almost the entire week there. We go there every year because it is an amazing place. There is also, unlike home, no snow there in February. Great video! Happy travels!
Aw man, we’re so bummed we missed the cannon, but we’re glad you got to see it! We were there that Monday on Presidents Day, so no cannon for us!
And yes, that February weather is amazing! Hope you’re not too cold wherever you are now 🤗
I was here a few weeks ago and omg it’s a place you guys have to go there it’s amazing
It’s amazing!
Where did you stay? Looking to visit but want to stay in the historical district or at least near it so I can walk
@@minismalls3096 we were at a camp site somewhere, we had to drive I believe but it would probably be easier to find a hotel and drive over, but I do recommend going it’s beautiful
Definitely go to the Ripleys believe it or not museum! Mellow mushroom and the hurricane grill are local favorites for food! Great video it makes me miss living there!😊
Thank you Megan! I don’t think we have ever been to a Ripley’s, it sounds really fun!
Another great Adventure! Keep them coming and stay safe!
Thank you! And we will! 🤗🤗
My Husband and I loved St. Augustine so much that after going to Savannah Ga. and other places , we decided to always return to the Oldest Town. I lost my Husband to the dreadful C word January 2020.. I see how much fun you two have and she really has goo goo eyes for you. I want to return but it is not the same. The most beautiful town and you two keep enjoying that awesome place.
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. ❤️ We hope that one day you can return, it’s a beautiful city!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thank you, Have you stayed at the St. Francis Inn ? It is really nice
We haven’t! We always just stay in our van when we travel, so we don’t get to enjoy any hotels unfortunately.
St Augustine is where I’ve lived for 10 years of my 14 year old life. Hope you had fun 😊
We had a blast! 🤗
I went on my honeymoon to St. Augustine, we go back every few years and take the kids, we always stay at the same bed and breakfast which is within walking distance of everything, we love it there.
The walkability was one of our favorite parts! We loved just parking once and walking around all day! (Minus the lighthouse)
@@AdventuresofAplusK Oh yeah, you have to drive to the lighthouse, we always go and do the ghost walk tour at night, it's so much fun, have done it more than once and will yet again.
Brandy B suddenly really interested in ghost tours. We may have to go on one soon!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Its fun, they also have a ghost tour thats on one of those trollies at night, its cool, you get to go insode the old pharmacy and some other places at night. There's alot of fun stuff to do there.
Brandy B that sounds so fun!!!
Glad you guys had a good time here!
Thanks James! Can’t wait to come back someday!
Adventures of A plus K Yeah, I loved it so much I moved here. 😄
That’s what happened to us and Seattle years ago!
That city looks gorgeous 😍
Will be there in 2 weeks & Loved your Video . Been to St Augustine a few time years ago in July but it was toooo hot & thinking I will enjoy the March weather . Also staying in a house in the historic area which sound like fun . We will check out your coffee shop.
The weather when we went (two weeks ago) was so nice! A tad chilly at times, but with the sun out it felt perfect! And the house in the historic area will be SO fun! We hope you have a great time and enjoy a flat white for us! 🤗
Wow you guys are awesome! New subscribers here 👏🏽 we can’t wait to watch all of your other adventure videos!
Thanks y’all! Glad to have you join our adventures! 🤗
Very cool to see St. Augustine. We’ve passed by it many times on our road trips from NYC to Miami but never stopped. Guess it’s due to the fact that we are so excited to finally be in a Florida that it’s difficult to pull off I-95.
Y’all should swing by on your way out of Florida next time! It’s a really neat city!
You guys are just so darn cute I've decided that I'm going to adopt you as grandchildren since you're about the age of my oldest grandson. Didn't make it to Saint Augustine which I regret but I did go to Savannah and when I was sitting there watching and they go OK they have to find the candy store and then there it was oh my gos Thank you for the facts and the history and your joy of seeing the sights and the foliage which I love the oceans everything I absolutely love your blog it is so wonderful so thank you for sharing can't wait till you get to Alaska, I'm in Portland Oregon by the way.
Hahaha alright!
We love all of those things too and we’re glad we could share it!
Loved this one 👍 the Aussies definitely took the meat pies from the Brits it’s a huge thing here , I never got to st Augustine all the time I spent in Fl I knew about the history but never knew it looked so stunning ,thanks for sharing you guys are awesome great mix of education an entertainment 👌👏👏👏👏
Phew! I got scared we got the whole meat pie history wrong (as we said, we are like Wikipedia 😜). We really loved how charming the city was. Next time you make it over here, you’ll have to check it out and let us know how the meat pies compare! 🥧
Thank you for visiting our beautiful city. Love your video.
We’re so glad you enjoyed the video! You live in such a beautiful and special place! 😍
Great Video as usual. Glad it was Fun
Thanks William! 😄
Great video and another city to add to my travels!
We hope you make it to St. Augustine Jose! 😄
that was great! spending as much time as I do there, I still hadn't checked these out.
We’re glad you enjoyed the video Eric and got some new ideas of things to do! 😃
I love watching y’all’s videos? Really cool cute couple !!! Down to earth I love it !
Thank you so much Ernesto! 🥰
Its the next city north of me.. I love that place.. Its amazing in the winter months. Christmas is beautiful there.
Christmas sounds like it would be magical there! 😍
Adventures of A plus K it really is.. My favorite place by far
Interesting branding Augustine of Hyppo. I'm with Catherine, no biting.
Thanks guys.
Thanks for watching!
Adam, I love your reaction when you really like the food you try. I usually lick or suck my popsicles, but occasionally I will bite it. I loved seeing your visit to the lighthouse in St Augustine. i just really love lighthouses. I have pictures of probably 50 or more lighthouses from Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Mississippi, Washington and Oregon. I hope to get some pictures of lighthouses from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and maybe New York, & Ohio next year. I would say that my favorite pictures subjects are Lighthouses, Waterfalls, Lake or ocean shore and mountains.
Adam makes some good eating faces lol!
Lighthouses are so beautiful! We really enjoy photographing them as well. All of those states you plan to visit probably have some great ones. We loved the Portland Head Light in Portland, Maine!
Good vidio from Spain 🇪🇸
Thank you! We hope to make it to Spain!
Hi, my family has been going to St. Auggie for like 30 years. You guys missed out some of the best spots in st augustine. There's the whetstone chocolates that has been around a long time. Their shell chocolates melt in your mouth! We always get there chocolate covered bananas too. They have a tour and give some delicious free chocolates as samples during it. It's like a novelty. Mangos mangos is the best also! They have been around for like 20 years! Their coconut shrimp and pine colada sauce is to die for! You also have to take a tour of the oldest schoolhouse! It's very interesting and historical. Downtown is cool. You can walk down the roads with no cars and shop there. You guys should go to the beach also. Mojos tacos has the best tacos! They're so good with a little spice to them too! There's also the fountain of youth that's historical. I know you guys like history. I really hope you guys will go to St. Augustine next! I would love to see some videos there! 😎🙂😄🏝
Cool! There is always more we wish we could do in a destination. It's tough to do it all when you're on a schedule. There's a lot of thought that goes into where we go and what we do and film in a place.
Thanks for the recommendations!
No, the best thing to do in St. Augustine is visiting 'Ripley's Believe it or not!' HAHA well, if you are a kid or a kid at heart. St. Augustine clam to fame is different depending on who you ask. Is it the first settlement in the US, the longest occupied Settlement, the oldest city in Florida? The answer is: It is the oldest inhabited European-established settlement in the lower 48. The oldest still inhabited "community" in the lower 48 is Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico which was founded around 1100. The difference is St Augustine is the same city with many of the same structures since it was founded in 1565 while Acoma Pueblo has been located in the same place but the settlements there have been destroyed over the years with new ones being built.
St. Augustine is a unique place mainly because of many of the buildings there are over 400 years old and feels like you have travel back in time but like you said, it has become very touristy. You were smart getting the America the Beautiful park pass because for you guys, you will be visiting a lot of national parks and reserves which after a few stops the card pays for itself. I hope you guys enjoyed Florida, Come back now you hear!
Hahaha we forgot to mention it has the oldest Ripley’s Believe it or Not!
Thank you so much for explaining all of the history! You did a better job than we ever could! 😄
@@AdventuresofAplusK Most of those kids who were answering all the questions were most likely from Florida. Like most kids in most states, you pretty much learn the history of your state throughout your school years.
Matthew Battle true true! But I probably would’ve still sucked at the Texas questions 🤣 History has never been my best subject!
I’m so excited for the asheville video! We just booked a trip there for the end of April so this is perfect timing. 😂 also - definitely lick the popsicle (the thought of biting it hurts my teeth haha)
We unfortunately didn’t film this weekend 😭😭😭 BUT some spots we loved: Biscuit Head, Taco Billy, White Duck Taco, Summit Coffee, and we really wanted to try Chai Pani and Hole doughnuts. We also went to Looking Glass Falls (super quick off the road stop) and it was gorgeous! Asheville was a cool city. We will probably be back later this year!
And thank you for being team lick! 😋😋
Aww that’s okay! All of those are on our list! I’m ready to eat and drink all the things! 😋😋
It’s a great food city! We cannot wait to come back and eat more 🤣😂
Chris Akins both were awesome! We’re big mountain lovers, so we loved Asheville!
Our Most Favorite City been going there over 7 decades 😊😇💖
What are your favorite things to do there?
Adam you’re a beast.... I cannot bite a popsicle like that....
Hahahaha he must have NO nerves in his teeth!
I walk my dogs down town so much the whole video I'm watching the background for me and my doggos
Hahaha, did you find yourself?!
@@AdventuresofAplusK nah... I wish
Enjoyed!
My husband and I have traveled through out Florida many times, it's a fairly quick plane trip or a couple of days car trip from Southern Ontario.
Love the information on Australia as we are leaving for Australia in October. I have a thought....how about you guys go to Sydney before us and do what you do best, check out all the best things to do,see, and eat. Oh l forgot coffee shops!! Just kidding, but it would be great!!😉
😊🍁
Hahahahah we would LOVE to just hop on a flight to Sydney right now in the name of research! 😉 If only that money tree we are trying to grow was actually growing 🤣🤣
PS: we saw SO many Ontario license plates in Florida this winter. We had no idea people drove to Florida from Ontario. It seems so far, but you just confirmed that it’s not a bad drive!
Shari Schmidt we too drive from up north to Florida but not as far as you guys as we leaving from NYC to go to
Shari Schmidt we too drive from up north to Florida but only from NYC and usually drive to Miami which is about 1,300 miles. Hope you have had a chance to visit Miami! Definitely would also love to visit Syndney
Wow that’s awesome! One thing we are loving about the east coast so far is how close some of the cities and other states are to each other. We weren’t used to that in Texas!
Adventures of A plus K oh yes Texas is such a huge state.
“We’re like Wikipedia” lol you guys are funny. I live in St. Augustine and still learned some new stuff from you 👍🏻
Lol! 😂 We always try to be factually correct, but it’s hard! Glad you were able to learn a bit from the vlog. Your home is beautiful! 💕
same :)
Im going for Xmas in december, the 20th through the 26th! I cant wait!
That’s awesome! I bet it’s super pretty during the holidays!
This is my beautiful hometown! Glad you guys found so many fun things to do!! Also If you ever go back there’s an amazing taco place called Mojos tacos you should check out!
Ooo we wanted to go there! We 100% will next time! We love us some tacos 🙌🏼😋
Adventures of A plus K yes! They do a double decker taco with both hard and soft shell tacos! 🌮
Now that sounds amazing! 🤤🤤
I think you mentioned it before but where did you get that national park check list?
We got it off Etsy! www.etsy.com/listing/601895364/national-parks-map-of-the-united-states
St. Augustine is a wonderful city. It’s been a while since I was there. Bite the popsicle 😂
Are you team bite?! Don’t go to the dark side!!! 😜
Adventures of A plus K 😂😂😂😂
We love St. Augustine, we were just there Saturday..
We missed you by a week-ish! What spots did you enjoy that we didn’t make it to this time?
Cemeteries are our favorite spots. Ripleys believe it or not, is also pretty cool. We, mainly enjoy, walking around and soaking up the history, though.
Jennifer Sexton we love cemeteries too! And St Augustine was just fun to wander around without a big plan!
That's us, too. We didn't even plan, going there Saturday. Just woke up and decided to take a drive. We are new empty nesters, so no kids to tow around. Makes it a lot easier to do things like that.
Jennifer Sexton we don’t have any kiddos (minus our high maintenance fur child) and it definitely makes things a little easier right now!
Meat pies and flat whites breakfast of CHAMPIONS!!! Straya 👍👍👍
Woo! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
My hometown! ❤💛💜
We love your hometown! 💕
Your footage was beautiful too! Especially the drone footage! 😍😍😍
Tambrie T thank you so much!!!
Good video too bad that you missed south of the plaza very interesting place maybe another time. also Flagler College and Lightner Museum
Thanks James! We walked around those and they were very beautiful!
As a resident I can tell you that while it's fun to visit, living here is daily frustration. My number one advice for anyone who has never been here before and wants to visit: Uber everywhere. Between downtown having almost no parking 24/7, parking lots charging ridiculous prices, and people driving like absolute Maniacs, it's better for you to take an Uber so you can just get out and go plus you can risk someone else's car in the insane traffic rather than your own
We got lucky and snagged an awesome spot downtown for free (for the holiday). Which is even more exciting since our van is very big! But good tip for others visiting 😊
Amazing
Thanks!
We think the correct way to eat a popsicle is to bite. We love your videos
Hahah team bite! Adam will be pumped! Thanks so much for watching Diana!
Love St Augustine
Us too! 🤗
You guys would be so fun to hang out with you are so real so transparent so natural so fun. I know you've been doing this for a while and I've been binge watching as I'm healing from having a tooth pulled so then a good time thank you for the diversion Yes you're eating ice cream and Saint Augustine as I speak and you guys like the same flavors I do I love it especially the caramel with the chocolate and the pistachio oh my gosh can't wait to get back on the road, II need a Van
Aw thank you so much for saying that ❤️💙
We hope your feeling better!
St. Augustine was a really neat place to visit!
My favorite place! lol
It’s so beautiful there!
I just seen the video when y'all went down to Houston and I saw y'all's van how many miles is on that poor thing LOL
Over 25k now! And we’ve only been on the road for 6 months! 😬
It's doing good so far lol
how is the trip going to ashvill coming on and be care full on the road
Ethen Sellers we aren’t in Asheville anymore, but it was a lot of fun!
Ethen Sellers we aren’t in Asheville anymore, but it was a lot of fun!
that was cool
We’re glad you liked it! It’s a really cool city!
Wow
Btw the room you where in is where the put people they did not like you now you should have seen those hooks things on the walls I went in that room so yea its pretty crazy stuff they dont tell you cause there are many kids.
😬😬😬 that’s crazy!
Fun Fact: Just serendipitously, every time I visit St. Augustine, I see a rocket launch from Cape Kennedy. No planning; it just happens.
That would be so cool to see!
Food blog Lol love st Augustine I live there
It’s an awesome city!
hi like your adventures thanks for sharing i like:166
We’re so glad! 😄
Oldest European settlement, not the oldest city in the US. Kookaburrata is the best along with Crave, The Floridian and Blue Hen.
Yeah the whole “oldest city” thing definitely has a caveat as we mentioned. Kookaburra was sooo good! We will have to try the others next time, thank you for the suggestions!
@@AdventuresofAplusK absolutely, but you guys got it right...'oldest continually occupied european settlement in the continental United states' next time(if you didn't) hit up the Fountain of Youth...their take on European settlement of their land predates St. Augustine by 50years making it over 500 years old.
493whpZ32 we didn’t this past time to save some money, but would love to next time!
Oh also I proposed to my wife with a 25 foot long sign held over the wall of the fort with the help of 6 friends
No way! That is an EPIC proposal! 👏🏼👏🏼
It was, we were on the back outside deck of the milltop tavern the bar with the big water wheel ... the view of the fort a now blocked by a new building
That is incredible! 😍😍
Thanks for sharing :) I would vote for 'licking' for popsicle, otherwise it makes no difference between posicle and a simple ice cream in a bowl ;-)
Woo! Go team licking! 🤣🤣 To be fair to Adam, that chocolate shell did make it harder to eat the popsicle, but he would’ve bit it anyways lol!
Hey, I live here!
You have a beautiful home! 🤗
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thank you, Next time yall come back let me know, and I will give you a personal tour!
Matthew Drennen sweeet! We always love seeing cities from a locals perspective!

🥧👋🏼🤗
I like to slurp the popsicles I get most of time there fudge bars
SLURP! That’s a great word to describe it! 👏🏼
Yeah it took my light bulb to light up lol
A little bit to light up
Can’t wait to visit that place but the oldest city in America is Mexico City.
St Augustine is said to be the oldest in the US specifically 😄. Mexico City is amazing though! One of our favorites!
Just a fact Mexico city is the oldest continuously inhabited CAPITAL city in the Americas.. but the oldest continuously inhabited city is outside of Mexico city..Cholula, Puebla which also has the biggest pyramid in the world!.
Ooo we love visiting pyramids!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Puebla and Cholula are 2 great places to visit and close to Mexico city.. you'll enjoy!
Lol no the oldest city in the americas is Tikal
The fact is that the oldest occupied city in the u.s. so that's the fact
👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks Charles!
I like to lick my popsicle first then when it’s soft I bite lol
The oldest is in Alabama
