Put a speaker on the front with some 2 stroke noises and you could probably drop a few minutes with more efficient passing lol. It sounds corny, but some kind of aftermarket noise maker for racing would actually help out a lot. I get tired of the yelling and honking doing hare scrambles on my Ultra Bee, even spectators get in the way. I think it can be tastefully done like the Hyundai Ioniq 5N adding in audible feedback from your throttle position.
Hopefully riders will also be more aware of electric bikes, and listen for the horn. My other thought .. could you replace the horn with some other sound? Sadly, anything other than a revving two-stroke may not work that well.
Put a speaker on that and play some Metallica, smooth jazz, Nickelback whatever. Mic your helmet and yell "no brakes!"
Keep honking and getting reactions like the first pass...hilarious 😅
Nah, just use a PA for the second horn and have it literally repeat "HEY CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME ROOM" with a harsh buzzer at the end to differentiate it from the other li'l beep horn, which is hardwired and you should keep. The second horn will be programmable and at some point fail lol but while it's working you can switch between "HEY CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME ROOM" and "La Cucaracha" :-)
@@KNKLHEAD I think a constant forward facing noise could work since you can hear it approaching. The horn is meh since they still don't really know how fast you're approaching, they have to look usually.
Great Video Tucker! Thanks for the shout out. Power Curve Cycles was glad to provide the spare batteries. We are so pumped to get on that suspension! Thanks for your efforts in developing the tune.
If it had front wheel drive too it would be unbeatable by gas or emoto lol
I got a ride with dual wheel drive and it will drag you through anything, just point it where you want to go and every time the front wheel plants it straightens you out. Crazy how much less work it is than dealing with gas - now if I can get a twist shifter for a CVT I can flatten the torque demands and get even better range as I climb better and run faster... :-)
Lmao that guy screaming at 4:20 is so mad he’s getting passed in a turn 😂😂
"There's not much I can do! Jesus Christ!"
That's what I hear after listening about ten times
@@BrassStacks WTF you want me to do. JC.
I didn’t watch the video but I’ll just say this they get so much hate on e-bikes cuz anyone can buy a shit box dirt bike for a 1000 if you don’t got life skills saving ect your not on one of these haha that is the reason ppl hate them 99% of them can’t tell you correct cons about them it’s all hearsay from TikTok the meat train take one of these to a mtb trail you’ll hear the most gawk gawk shit from the TikTok boys their broke an just need to speak
@@holychiodos 😄 I forgot all about this. I think you're right. After listening to it again I'm sure of it. Good call!
You are an incredible rider!!! Good luck at the TKO
Dude you are seriously flying on that thing. Im 59 and was still racing 2 years ago. Just got me a Stark to go with my 300 Beta and other 4 strokes. Love it. Playing with valving currently. I mostly ride medium gnarly single track so I just installed some gummy tires front and read with UHD tubes. I can't wait for the next software update, it's supposed to transform it even more. Right now it's my favorite thing to ride !!
Great to hear. Just turned 60 and can't imagine not being out on my KTMs(big and small) However, the pace of improvement and the advantages of the e-moto options get more and more interesting.
I saw the 'You can't race Electric Here' and had to check it out. I'm in West Central Oregon and dirt bikes have been banned from most of the forests...from what I am hearing. That includes electric bikes without peddles. I had hoped to move here from Tennessee and get an Ultra Bee, but the Starker Forest right off our property is allowing only hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. We do all of those, so for now, I'm just getting a new mountain bike. I need to get in better shape anyway. 🙂
I'm in Central Oregon and in the same boat with the bans. We still of tons of trails though. I've had several heavy models talarias. Probably going to get a Ultra or artic leopard next.
Not banned in Idaho 😎
Holy smokes you are FAST!!! An absolutely joy to watch you navigate obstacles with such speed and nimbleness. Very inspiring. I’m getting an electric!!
What a great experience that event had to be. You did a bangup job despite the fork needing to be dialed in.
I love living here and knowing these trails are right up the road.
I just got back into riding after 20+ years away and I'm loving my ERP SS. I just wish my body were still in good enough condition to ride hard. Seeing you ride like i know i used to be able to makes me so damn jealous!!
Keep up the great riding and videos!
Mesmerizing content
Man on a Mission , Great Job promoting Emoto
Amazing skills my man. Well done.
Olk, you've convinced me and probably kick-started some F1 inspired quick change battery tech as well. Great vid and nice riding!
When passing, give them a "WOO WOO WOO WOO WOOOOO" as you approach. You're currently giving them a "Please kind gentlesir, move to the side for but a moment" lol
Great job dude! Love riding that area and especially St Charles trail. Sweet riding and vid.
Nice! Thank you for the awesome content. One tip? Instead of using the key to remove the seat (if you trust those around your bike!) .. I put a stainless wire around the lever that releases the seat, ran it to the right side of the saddle with a small little rubber loop to grab. Just give it a quick tug and boom, seats off. I was also curious .. would you or any other Ultra Bee folks have an extra rear 19" wheel by any chance?
Damn that looked like a blast wish I had a few batteries for my freeride, would love to do that!! Great video!
Great job on the video! Thanks for making it.
If you dont mind the advice. I really think you want to be closer before calling for the pass. Imo youre making ppl stop for too long. You wanna be right there ready to blast past so they are off pace for as little time as possible. Remember, they are racing too.
Sweet ride. Ireally hope we start seeing more and more ppl getting electric bikes into these events. Its great to see those that put in the effort to make it happen.
Even better would be events with loops tailored to electric, with battery transfer points.
We've got to get a horn for these things. That sounds like a motor revving 😁
I use the air shims for other stuff too, like stretching new strings on my guitar ;-)
Good application!
That was fun to watch thxs
Great work as always Tucker! Wouldn't it be nice to have a MX 2-stroke sound pack? That way you would never have to honk.
WHAT IS THE BIKE AT 24:00 😮🤯😍 and BTW Tucker .. your videos on surrons are the best of any chanel !
That's some gnarly terrain. Elevation gains are the biggest drain on batteries, as I'm starting this vid, wondering if that was considered on your route recon? Just starting the vid so perhaps that'll be answered later in the video
I bet at least 20% of those people who saw you today buy an emoto and half of those will sell their gas bike at the same time.
Truth. Once you've tried out some good emotos it's hard to go back, I do miss the smell and noise but man...the performance. The performance difference is so huge that Isle of Man TT made emoto run in its own class first year out (and almost got the top record - second year MotoCzysz did get it and emotos have held the top times since).
Man, i just love the silence. Think about all the moto tracks that have been shut down due to expanding suburbia. Imagine everyone going electric and getting back to these tracks without noise complaints.
Imagine being able to walk to your local motocross track. Imagine enduro events on city adjacent trails.
Would be so damn cool.
And 💯 of those who buy an emoto will never finish a race ever again.😅 Yeah I've owned several different brands.
Great riding!!
Question: What do you mean when saying I'm in map 1?
Power output?
Skills to pay the bills!
I'd be yelling "on your left" so they realize I'm close and ready to pass.
@Electric Cycle Rider Loved this. Thanks for sharing, Tucker. I ride both electric and ICE and love them all. I'm looking for next electric and Surron Ultra Bee is in the running, but lots of new bikes on the market (various flavors of Arctic Leopard) or on the way (Dust, Talaria Dragon) that may be in the running. The belts on the Surron always have given me pause, though I've never had an issue with on my Light Bees. Any concerns with the belt on the Ultra from a longevity, maintenance, or on-trail damage/stranded perspective? We ride mountain trails and 20 miles (half of an out and back ride) is a long way to walk or push a bike so want to consider the realistic probability of issues with the Surron belts. Anything to consider or risk is overblown?
Any news on talaria dragon?
is this the stock battery you are using?
Great vid, and interesting to see the stock battery decision vs using a increased range/aftermarket battery. Is that based on keeping things simple for change over? Also, what is that inflation device thingo? Any link, or info? Cheers
My wrists hurt just watching this. Hitting that rough stuff on the stock forks is pure pain
Where can I learn all of the reasons, as to why so many people prefer the Ultra Bee over the Storm Bee?
You need a baja siren like trophy trucks have. lol
Are you faster with that ultra bee than with a gas bike?
All the horn beeping is crazy.
Great video.
Really highlights how ass bikes in need of a muffler repack sound.
Sheeesh smoking em on e bike
next time yell "ON YOUR LEFT!" lol
Need to record the sound coming out of Eli Tomacs bike and play it on a loud speaker for a “let me pass” horn
It sounds like a bunch of gas powered chainsaws and an electric Black & Decker hedge trimmer, lol.
You were ripping on that thing.
Need to wire the horn to a switch instead of a button that turns on a blinker relay so it just goes beep beep beep beep until you turn it back off
Give me a little room, aka get the f out of my way!
You gotta be respectful 😁
Do you prefer the Ultra Bee over the Storm Bee?
I think everybody prefers the UB for trail and enduro.
@@jasonhall9786 Does the fork your using come stock?
This is basically DH mountain biking but with 300MM suspension and an extra 300LBS
Do you think you could have been faster on a gas bike? Personally I love electric, but it’s really a slightly different sport to me.
I think for tight smother trails, electric will win. For faster more rough gas’s will wins. If the distance is the same.
That looks kind of rough, he’s a fast ride. I’d like to know what class he’s in. Maybe an A rider ?
Yup a the end he said A rider.
@@nigelsenchez exactly. Once the terrain opens up the gas bikes just keep pulling
@@MotoMotives also the suspension is way Better on the gas bikes. You can hit the rough patches harder and faster. Plus it won’t wear you out.
Sounds like your HSC needed to be dialed back.
I see you put that damper on .. yeah, those outta be standard equipment on a bike with just 53" of wheelbase. You'll really like it @ TKO !
You're racing the DUST bike @ TKO ? That'll be the ticket, it's 3" longer, a much less punishing ride in that hacky terrain.
⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡!!!electric power!!!!!
Bro, you have iron balls 🫡
🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽
Haaah , burning gas while not in the bike. Gotta love ebike In efficiency.
You need an air horn from a train
😅 don't like electricity 🤢 not for dirtbike propulsion...or cars or school buses 😔 and not on construction equipment either...
Screw, Tesla and Surron....
Great terrain though! 😁 All national forests should be open to dirt biking... In fact, they are wherever there are logging roads
No thank you.
slay lil bro
😢 electric bike racing is for elitist riders, nothing about it epitomizes why we started riding dirt. To do this you'll need $6500 for the bike and $2000 in suspension upgrades, plus $4000(2 spare batteries, plus an extra charger). To make these Ultra Bees feasible to race tastes thousands $$$$$. Most have $10-20k into them.
We don't need your electricity.
