We can find the x-intercepts of a turning point form by solving for x. This assumes we have already completed the square for our quadratic equation and let y equal to zero.
To solve, we must use algebra, rearranging one term at a time from the left to the right side of the equation, until only the x is remaining on the left. Most of it involves balancing but there is a conceptual move halfway when eliminating the perfect square (power of two).
Watch the video now to find out how this is done and why there is a plus/minus symbol when square roots appear!
