    Great video. I just had a left inguinal hernia repair and was told my inguinal ligament was severed. One day following the operation I have some lower groin pain/sensation when moving. Makes sense after seeing your video. Good insight I can use when I speak to my DR. in a few weeks.

    Great lesson as always. Thought you might be interested to know that this area is a hot topic in musculoskeletal ultrasound by sports medicine and emergency physicians in the evaluation of groin pain suspicious for hernia.

    Aponeurosis - How does this happen?? And it seems to happen all over. Muscle turns into fascia and ligaments.

    • @SamWebster
      @SamWebster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Muscle needs to become tendon to attach to bone. The cells are different, they have different jobs to those of muscle cells, and there is much more collagen in the tissue.

    Thank you very interesting. I study anatomy as non of the so-called spcialists I have so far attended seem to be able to figure out my problem. When I want to pull up my leg to the chest the movement is blocked as the upper front leg muscles and the groin screw up. Walking is difficult as well yet there are no sensory deficiencies and no significant wear of the hip joint.......keep researching the origin of the problem originallyl started by too much mountain hiking.

    A very good and detailed video! Thank you!
    Was just wonder wondering, what ar the fibrous structures to the left and the right of the pubic bone, somehow a little bit above the extern inguinal ring and overimposed on the pubic bone, somehow feeling as an extension to the inguinal ligament. They have nothing to do with the spermatic cord, do they? Are they musculo fascial structures related to the pubic symphysis? Or just the inguinal ligament link to the pubic bone?
