I always feel bad for Matt. Like yeah we all want Tom back some way or another. But like every interviewer needs to lay off that conversation these days. Matt just always get shit on by it. My respect for Matt’s gone up a lot because of the way he handles it
Kait I remember seeing Alkaline Trio in 1998 at a park by my house here in the Chicago area where they are also from. Maybe 40/50 people there and I knew then how talented they were. I hope Matt is happy playing in Blink182, of course I loved that band back in the day. I think Alkaline Trio was where he was at his best and hope they still get out and play/write still.
Definitely. It's not that I'm opposed to Darkside as a music video, but I think this album was a perfect time for a music video writer to sit down with them and help them realize that we've all grown up with blink-182. I'd say a good majority of Blink fans could listen to "On Some Emo Shit" and perfectly relate to those lyrics. A darker, more mature music video to match with that song would've been perfect. blink-182 is such an iconic name for so many people yet they're still managing to muck it up when all they need to do is reinforce their new content instead of focusing on features, side projects, and/or interviews.
People dress how ever they want don’t be mad bc mark is wearing shoes that cost more than you’re closet and also Scaling Fragment u putting reee at the end made your comment unreliable bc that was cringey.
Matt is so cool, and I think he's a good fit. They are still my best band. I just wish they would ease up on the over produced music and stop using other song writers.
But that’s the whole issue? He’s NOT a good fit creatively when the crap being pumped out sounds like a Justin Bieber record. Sure he can hold his own for the live stuff but anyone could.
If i see one more "no tom no blink" or "matt garbage" comment i swear. Matt is an amazing musician and so is tom. The problem is that their producer is heavily controlling what matt can do. Listen to alkaline trio if you want to hear matt with full creative control. Its amazing.

Even I as a big fan of Tom is getting really sick of it. I mean c’mon
Josh Gardner That could be kinda cool, maybe as a side project. But i’d still like to see the old blink trio back together, or atleast the four of them.
Skiba rocking a Boyd Rice shirt. I remember starting off listening to music like Blink182 as a youngster and grew to love bands like Death In June, Current 93 and Non. As an adult it’s kinda cool to see an old favorite on board with something I now enjoy.
the interview casually reading questions off his phone screen, lol. Mark and Matt did well in this situation. Watching this makes me so grateful for the zane lowe interview now
Nine is amazing. It's such a shame they never did a tour for it, and in light of the current events, they really couldn't do a belated tour now if they wanted to. Either way, I'm super excited to see what they make next. Also, I get that they do it because they know it'll get headlines, but I wish interviewers would stop asking about Tom. They've said all that needs to be said. Tom's moved on, and so has blink. Tom's heart hasn't been in the band since before the breakup. Just let the man follow his actual passions, and let the guys in blink that actually want to be there keep making awesome music.
Matt Skiba kinda dodges the "how would you feel if tom came back" question... Matt answers the question saying he has no beef with tom. The interviewer wasn't asking you if you and tom had beef, he was just asking how you'd feel if tom came back. poor matt LOL
It's hard for Matt to keep getting asked about Tom coming back. It's like Mark got a new gf and everyone is asking his new gf, Matt, about Mark's ex, Tom. It's a tough situation to be in but he handles it well.
I mean it would suck to be apart of something and always worrying that it could end any day now. Must be a horrible feeling. Especially when you have to step into the shoes of someone else and get a bunch of backlash from those that liked the other person more.
Blink182media3 I think if Tom comes back Matt can’t stay and just play rhythm guitar and Tom can play lead guitar also Matt can still sing in the songs that he sings

Mark is tooooooooo sharp to ask questions lol. He knows what is up. And Thank you to Matt stepping up. Good on him.
i love how Matt mentioned "doing some musical theater stuff for a friend" almost like he was embarrassed to talk about the project....in all fairness, i think he might've been made to feel guilty cuz when he left the production it only had enough steam to get a run of shows together in Cali, but never made it to Broadway....and in all fairness the themes and story are...very dark (to put it mildly)...but amazingly well written.

I kinda get why people weren’t excited for lil Wayne his music isn’t as good as blink and some people really wanna see a rock show. Their not easy to come by these days when I saw blink in London they introduce me to the front bottoms for which il be forever grateful.
John 117 i wouldn’t say isn’t as good, it is a different flavor/genre. lil wayne is an inspirational rapper in the 00s and early 10s he definitely helped shape music in the rap game for years.
Sebastian Mora yeah that’s fair and I get Travis and mark like there hip hop and it grew on Matt but rock fans today don’t wanna see any elements of rock and roll get lost as it’s very precious now. @@cDub3284 This. And also the tempo issue that I mentioned in my previous comment. The easiest example is on Dick Lips: the drum roll just before the first verse comes in isn't even in tempo with the song, it's way too fast. This was a recurring theme throughout Cheshire Cat & Dude Ranch.
They should go to hot ones for better questions They're 44 and 48 years old and people want them to act like they're 19 years old Stopped watching 3 minutes in, couldnt take the interviewer’s moronic questions
Hard to find but back then for a vans warped tour interview, tom praised Matt skiba, said alkaline trio inspired him to up his songwriting. There s a video on TH-cam. I'm 31 and we have to stop acting like this is the same style as enema. Alkaline trio and blink are total opposite surging about Skiba is pointless but thanks skiba!!! Blink is blink regardless
What the fuck kinda questions are these? Marks giving the company line but in his head he’s saying “I’m writing music I think my fans are gonna appreciate, fuck your ‘world is so gloomy’ bullshit.” Mark, keep blink 182 apolitical. I’ve much appreciated that about your writing and your public persona.

Tom DeLonge.... I know that you know more than most of us when it comes to the truth, the unseen technology and life forms that are actually out etc, and why it does get revealed slowly but surely and why they chose to do it in a specific way....I learned from you to Never stop questioning what you feel is correct even when facts are not revealed. When I saw you in 1999 on MTV I know that All the Small things might seem like it is kind of mainstream, but to me it was never something like that. I laughed and it made me feel amazing because all the little small things are actually the massive things in life that actually matters. I mean we all know most of us know that the truth is kept secret. But together we can stand together and expose the truth. The song "Where is the love" also had a major influence with the lyrics they used that is definitely out there. I might be classified as unusually optimistic but I will never lose hope. I love the fact that you say that divorce is definitely a way to see it as a kind of rebirth. Nothing that "dies" is really death it is a way of looking at things in a different light or as a opportunity to open new doors. The way you look at things to actually see it as a beautiful new opportunity is an amazing way of looking at life experiences. I mean one of my favorite songs is definitely still "Stay together for the kids" that alone made me respect you so much more. At that time though we were well off but it kind of separated my family more in a sense just by having money. I saw it as a way to get rid of me. So I totally get and your reasons behind it. I was always a "people-pleaser" if I can put it in that way. You kind of lose yourself by doing things like that because you neglect yourself and forget who you are as person. I didn't even know what I actually liked anymore. By the way I can not believe that you actually said: " I can't believe people actually remember that song (Aliens Exist, in another article). I was like: " WHAT???? That track in particularity confirmed everything I questioned. How can you even think that? I memorized every single song, album and the track numbers on your albums. Correct me if I am wrong but Angels and Airways looks like an abbreviation for your baby girl who will always remain your little girl AVA. You saved my life, through your lyrics in your former band Blink 182 and the many other bands you were in,. Bands like The Offspring, Sum 41, Nirvana Get Scared, Falling in Reverse and My Chemical Romance ( The Black Parade album art I chose go on my right arm as a sleeve) and then Eminem also had huge influences in my life. The Blink 182 logo I still need to implement somewhere. Through lyrics with the deep meaningful expressions to just name a few. I Probably wouldn't have been here today. Thank you for always being there . Your words helped me cope in life where there was nothing and no one to turn to other than you, your bands that you were in. Knowing I have someone out there who relates. The fact that you actually want to change people's lives just by speaking your mind... That alone I can say in certainty that you changed and saved mine and of course God. I know your songs changes lives on a daily basis. THANK YOU!!!!!. Cindymisfit1408 (Cindy Botha 19/06/1990) Sorry for all the grammar and spelling mistakes I am Afrikaans and from Johannesburg where I hope to see you guys perform one day soon... Have an amazing day. Keep doing what you do..People do relate through your lyrics. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! 🎶❤❤❤ You are an Angel, this I know the people who get referred to as those that are crazy. And I know that you know you are one of the few who sees the truth in life. Much love to you!!! I hope to see you before leaving planet earth. I would just love to thank you in person just by being in you presence when you perform and wear your heart out there on your sleeve and also "leaving your heart on the stage". Let me make this very clear. I see you as I saw my dad. I see you as a hero, someone that is actually REAL and not as a girl who has a crush AT ALL. I see you with utmost respect in my eyes and will never forget the impact you had in my heart and my life. Thanks to you and God I am still here ❤❤❤❤❤❤✝ You inspire and I hope one day I can also save lives through just being a real person and spreading love and uplifting people with words and a bit of humor in between that comes from the heart.

Scott is my neighbor

Ooooh Skibba Fuck Lol
Miss U Tom ....
Nine is not the most mature album in my opinion. I personally think neighborhoods had a more grown up sound
They should go to hot ones for better questions
They're 44 and 48 years old and people want them to act like they're 19 years old
Stopped watching 3 minutes in, couldnt take the interviewer’s moronic questions
Hard to find but back then for a vans warped tour interview, tom praised Matt skiba, said alkaline trio inspired him to up his songwriting. There s a video on TH-cam. I'm 31 and we have to stop acting like this is the same style as enema. Alkaline trio and blink are total opposite surging about Skiba is pointless but thanks skiba!!! Blink is blink regardless
What the fuck kinda questions are these? Marks giving the company line but in his head he’s saying “I’m writing music I think my fans are gonna appreciate, fuck your ‘world is so gloomy’ bullshit.”
Mark, keep blink 182 apolitical. I’ve much appreciated that about your writing and your public persona.

i'm russian and we have a singer here in russia matt reminds me of pretty much, his name's boris moiseev, google his photos and see for your selves the resemblence is hilarious
БЛЯТЬ БОРИС МОИСЕЕВ СУКААА АХАХАХАХАХАХАХАЗ
NINE should've had the attention California had. Instead the opposite happened. Nine is one of my fav blink records, Can't stand Cali
JD182 you’re joking? California is a class album
This interviewer was as passive aggressive as it can get..
Can we talk about Mark's yoga pants?
Angels & Airwaves 🚀
+44, Box Car Racer, it's all part of the mark tom and travis show :)
I love Mark, but he comes off like such a nit with the liberal lesbian look and attitude..
He's been that way for the past 10 years.
agreed
Great interview
