OK I just bought it for my new house in southern Indiana based on this review. I was going to install it myself on my 1.27 acres but decided to let the Husqvarna people do it professionally. That was a good decision because it took them from 9AM until about 4PM using motorized line burying equipment. My yard is quite tricky in the front and the back has numerous trees and obstacles. I let it run from 4PM until about 11:30PM last night. During that time it only stopped once for a recharge, which amazed me. The iPhone app is outstanding, since I can tell where it is at all times, change settings, park it, or look at the path it has taken for the last 10 minutes or so. It reports its location every 30 seconds. This is day two and I am thrilled so far. I saw my neighbors cat hiding in the bushes observing it very closely haha! At night its great to watch it run around with the led lights.
Some people complain about the patterns. They are there for a reason, not making persistant marks in the grass and also letting the grass be cut from different angles. Its not like a vacuumcleaner for which the angle off attack is of no importance.

Now that you have had this for over 1 year how is it holding up ? have you had to replace any of the Drive Wheel Motors yet ?or any other parts ? How many Hours does your mower have on it now ?
It looks like it mows very randomly mowing over the parts it's already mowed doing it over and over until it finely gets everything. Can't it tell mowed from unmowed and how long will it mow at one time?
Biggest disadvantage -- summer jobs for teens. Cutting grass is a huge money-maker for high school/college kids. I paid for half of my college cutting grass since 11 years old.
I'd be mowing my own lawn anyway. "Lost jobs" is an absolutely silly statement to refute the progress of technology. Every progress kills jobs - and it creates others. Most teens I know these days will be making twice as much INSTALLING these and maintaining them. Far easier than physically pushing mowers around all day.
I'm afraid robotics is all about taking over jobs. I can picture a mostly robotic McDonalds in the near future. High start up costs but a lot of advantages.
If you take how much you get per hour at work, and multiply it by how many hours it takes you to mow the lawn, and multiply it by 52, it seems an automatic mower is worth it. My biggest problem is the ugly zig-zag look! I'm not picky about aesthetics, but it looks like a drunk guy did your lawn. People might begin to worry.
agreed. my neato botvac connected vacuum makes perfect parallel lines in my carpet...i wish these mower companies could do the same, but the vacuum does it by laser sensors, something that might be problematic on a mower subject to the elements.
@NonyaBusiness! Hi, FYI the Gardena Sileno+ can detect if the lawn isn't growing fast enough (in summer like you said for example) and delay the programmation in order to let the lawn rest. Gardena robots being based on Husqvarna ones (same company), you probably want to check if they have the same functionnality (they probably do)
Can this product trim my hedges? I broke my ankle last year while up a ladder cutting the hedge in the back field with my steal clippers when my husband pulled it out from under me. He ran away laughing and I haven't seen him since. Can someone come save me and bring the Husqvarna Automower 450X with them the hedges are getting out of control?

We have daffodils and crocuses in the lawn. Will it just cut them down or whats the best way to protect them?

I never hire anyone to cut my grass so no jobs lost.
