They used to have an exact replica of this roller coaster at Carowinds called Thunder Road. I was really sad when they removed it such a fun roller coaster.
I remember riding this back in 1980 when it was called the Rebel Yell. I was about 12 or 13 years old at the time, and my uncle took me to this park. Back in those days, the park had a mountain in it that housed a couple of dark rides. One was a spooky water ride and the other was a psychedelic train ride through something called the Land of the Doozies (or something bizarre like that). This roller coaster is pretty cool! I like the layout and how it’s basically a straight line with a bunch of incredible hills.
Pro tip: On the first drop, look straight ahead towards Intimidator as you are going down instead of looking down. Believe me, it is twice the thrill, you feel like you are falling to your death lol.
I love this roller coaster. Still have not forgiven Carowinds for removing Thunder Road, haven't been to that park since and may never go back. Thunder Road was awesome. Racer 75 is just as good. Plus KD has Grizzly which is awesome too - you just have to prepare yourself for it.
@@cringeusername9705 Hey friend, I am not affiliated, nor hold any loyalty for the CSA. I wasn't alive during the civil war and its relevance in my life holds little more weight than any page the history of it is printed on. I simply like the song Rebel Yell by Billy Idol, and as a child I always thought the name "Rebel Yell" had something to do with Star Wars because child logic...I am merely sentimental about my childhood. I commend you all for your effort over the last year because if I were a "sOutH WIll RisE AgaIN" type, I certainly would be feeling very burned about now to your credit...but alas I am not and so regrettably your sick burns fall short this time. the Haunted River and The Time Shaft (where the floor dropped).
How is nobody talking about the awsome backdrop, def gonna ride this if i go to KD, it looks like your racing to I305
Now that it doesn't go backwards or race anymore all it's good for is providing the best view of I305 the #1 coaster anywhere
Backwards in the last car was great
