I use this exact head on my Mapex Retrosonic snare. That particular drum is walnut and it does best tuned LOW. This head really has a unique tone, very aggressive. Can't wait to try this drum!

That is a nice fawking snare drum, and sounds killer! I have never had a aquarian high energy snare head fail, or break, warp, tear or do anything except sound great after 20 years since i discovered them on a used snare i bought from a friend, glad the pros think the same about them also.again, sweet snare drum, maybe a used one will show up for sale near me.
