Pity that not a lot of people are commenting, I don't see a lot of vicious code beggars here, because that seams to be the a growing crowd among the Arduino and Co. community. Stupid Copy and Paste Culture, that do not care to learn from this lesson.
Your tutorials are gold, I love the logic behind it! Great Work, keep it up.

Mark, I was looking at a vid you did around a year ago when you were comparing RTC on Nextion, Arduino and an RTC Shield.
There, you mentioned that you were trying to tweak something to try to get more views.... trigger words or something ???
I know that people love Arduino and Nextion and where possible, I try to send people to your channel.
I'm just not sure why the viewership is not a lot higher.
I wish I was up on how to promote, but sadly, I have zero clue as I just don't do videos, so I've never taken the time to learn how to promote better.
I sure hope that your vids get a lot more views and likes. You sure deserve it!
I think people, like I was before finding your channel, are so stuck on those horrible and HUGE Nextion Libraries that they don't think to search for how to use a Nextion with the libraries.
I know that I had no clue myself. I found your channel when I was searching and trying to find if there were "smaller" libraries for Nextion. I lucked out and found your tag, Arduino Nextion without libraries (or some wording).

Thanks for the kind words, as always. Every once in awhile I look into getting more views but in the end it takes to much time and I give up. I really enjoy the process of making the videos and that is why I make them. Sometimes when I start making them try and cater to an audience I find myself not enjoying them as much. So, maybe a smaller audience is better for me. I believe in fate and what will be will be. But I do appreciate the thoughts and this video really got some comments. Kind of cool.

How best to handle displaying latitude and longitude? As text, or a formatted float?

I have always used text if possible.

easier to use the built-in Nextion clock and send to arduino than to mirror the worse clock in arduino

The nextion clock is proven to be pretty terrible in another video.

@@Etacovda63 Yes, it's true. The Nextion clocks WILL go out of time, but only by a very little bit.
*Although, I wonder if in this video, he's using a Basic display since Arduino is doing all the work!???*
As for the Enhanced displays with RTC,
I've run extensive experiments to see just how much they go out.
I've run my experiments on the Enhanced displays that I have, 2.4", 2.8" and 7".
They seem to go out by about 10 seconds in a week. (I think that was the number.... around there... I haven't checked them in over a month now) LOL
So I figure, since they are pretty consistent, it would be easy enough to have a special timer and variable inside the Nextion that would auto adjust by xx seconds ever xx days or so.
I decided to go that route rather than using one of those Arduino RTC modules that are supposedly much more accurate. That decision was due more due to needing as much memory for my code and not wanting to waste memory on an RTC shield.
I also add a special page that displays the full date and time, including seconds and then using Touch, the ability to adjust any part of that, including the seconds.
      So far, it's working well.
In my projects, if time goes out by a few seconds in a week, it's no big deal. it has zero impact on what my code is doing.
As for the Nextion displays' not-so-accurate RTC, there's possibly a way to modify the circuit to fix the problem on the PCB. But, without a full and REAL schematic, I won't just arbitrarily try to figure out which caps and/or resistors would affect this.
      It's not so bad, actually.

I do prefer to use the Nextion as my RTC source, only because I need to retain as much memory for my code as possible.
The RTC shields with their Libraries can take up space. Although, I think in this video, Mark isn't using a lib for the RTC module.
I do know that not all RTC shields are made the same. I did buy some and these were the "higher end" ones that were guaranteed to be accurate..... more accurate than the cheap knockoffs. So far, however, I haven't played around with them.
