They made this song their own. It was such a popular cover it became a staple in their set list until they broke up. And Dolly herself said this is one of the best renditions of the song. ✌️
Awesome performance to react to! I've always loved the White stripes cover of this. They were married btw, not brother and sister. Jack just used to tell that as their story but it's not true lol
Jack White is super talented musician but not considered the top class singer. But I love his emotion in his voice, the desperation, urgency, almost crying... super cool, I love it!

So Jack White, the lead singer there, made Loretta Lynn a Rock Star, she was 72 at the time. He was such a fan he produced an album for her and preformed with her. Not positive, but I think they win a Grammy for it. The album is called Van Lear Rose. Please check out their hit song "Portland, Oregon" from the album. It great! So's the album.

They’re not actually brother and sister, they were married and he took her last name but they weren’t related he just always said they were to just fuck with people I think.
He said they were brother and sister because of the music. A husband and wife brings more of an "awe that's cute" reaction and a disregard to the music as opposed to being "brother and sister" which brings more of an "ok, let's see what they got" reaction
