I love my s107. I have beat that thing to hell and back. Right now it is missing most of the tail end including the tail motor. It is still really stable. But, this is probably a good option especially with local support and the free parts pack if you enter the coupon code. Going from the s017 to the mcx2 is pretty easy. I got to fly my friends around a few times. really fun to fly after you get past the stress of flying someone elses $120 heli.
@SwedishRC I agree. Syma's are a great way to see if you like R/C helis but they are just toys. A hobby grade heli like the Blade line up will be much more enjoyable and fixable if you crash too much =]
@PowerPlayRC yea its an amazing value, going to be huge as a gift for sure
@robbie2737 it all really depends on your flight style to be honest and actually even ultra expensive 3D heli's with 6S Lipo packs only rock 5-10 minutes....what we suggest is getting the harness to charge like 3-4 of these batteries at a time, they are only like $2 per battery so just have 3-4 at the ready..
@MegaRallycar Good point, you dont even need that much space to fly it. I fly regularly in my bedroom. The day after I got the heli I had enough confidence to fly it in a hotel room. But they racket ball room is a place to start. Word of advice, dont let the heli be like my face and let the ball hit it really hard after a person who has been playing for 25yrs hits it. Good thing it was the weekend. I wouldnt have gone to school the next day.

@nerdyrcdriver yea you don't need a heck of a lot of room, but it makes it more fun
@MegaRallycar Just glad it didnt hit my eye like what happened to my mom before I was born. It is more fun to fly in more room. I flew my 107 in the one of the gyms at school and was amazed to see it climb all the way up. I couldnt tell what it was doing and had to take it down before I got it caught in the system of nets on the ceiling. That and the gym teacher kicked us out.
@nerdyrcdriver yea a great place to start before jumping up to things over $100
@niceNcrispy83 the reason i say it's a toy is because it wont teach you much. the aileron has been replaced with rudder. So when you do buy the mcx, you will have different controls and you will have to learn to fly all over again. the only thing that this may do is make you a little less nervous about flying a 4ch heli.
I use the GWS 4040 prop on my UM Beast. Works much better than the stock prop.
@MegaRallycar yea you can't beat the price...only thing is...IF you like it..you'll wish you could fix stuff on it..

@MegaRallycar We have a thing called late start where the first hour of school the teachers are all in meetings so we just get to do whatever. But, I know a few teachers that are ok with me flying in their rooms during the meetings. I am talking to one of the gym teachers about it too. 2 teachers per gym 3 gyms, might get one of them to agree.
I have it it's kinda easy to break and iota great like u said but it breaks easy
Would this be a good staring point to start flying helis?
I actualy have troubles with this model. I can't see red led during charge with 2 of my batteries, but controller looks ok, second top red light and sounds works.
I can't find de led ON THE COPTER, there is a red light that must work on the copter wenn I put the battery in, right ?
I have no reactions when I put the battery in the copter.. Is it serious doctor?

@nerdyrcdriver Link dont work. Must do manually. But i know what you mean. But just to get me started i still just want a Basic Syma s107g. Just so i can learn the channels better. My Sim keeps glitching. So i gave up on that one.
Did a peice of the UMX beasts propeller get chipped off?

@nerdyrcdriver But just i think 20$ just to get me to know the channels is a way for me to begin. All i would be doing is just going to the YMCA racket ball room and doing some basic flying. Once i get better ill get a more advanced heli

the litle pins holding the top blades break whenever you fly into something...
not so durable I fear... had to replace mine 4 times now. not flying into walls nowadays so it's no longer a problem... but for total beginners... get spares !

What controls jaw, if it does't have tailrotor?
one for it spins slower or faster than the other one, and that gives it the yaw control.
can u use 120 mah battery?
@flyingchimp99 meh, Blade and hobby stores carry every single part on this guy. You could buy every part on its own from a hobby shop and build it, so I would venture to call it mostly hobby grade. Only think keeping it is the all in one unit. If it didnt have that, then I would call it hobby grade. but, just about every heli this size on the market have an all in one.

If you have a hobby store that carries parts for this, I would spring for that over a 107. I have been waiting weeks for parts I need to get back in stock for both my helis (107 and double horse 9051) on xheli. But, the 107 is a good heli as well.

@nerdyrcdriver Ya i would do the same but theres always a class in the school gym. But you know i still get recess. I was thinking about UMX beast 3D plane. Some that i could bring to school. Or i was just thinking this is Study hall. Put a heli at the door so the teacher couldnt see it. (study hall only has 12 people) and put the remote in my art bag. And fly it all around the class. Freakin out the teacher. but then i would have to pay economy money. Fake money that will teach us about economy
