The same thing happened to me last December. I went to my regular hairstylist, trusted her, didn’t pay much attention aaaand the result was terrifying. My wavy/curly(also very thick) chest length hair was absolutely destroyed. She cut so many layers and they were so short and uneven that my hair looked really thin and couldn’t even curl at all. So i decided to go to a different hairstylist and cut it off to my shoulders(about 20 cm of length). It didn’t really help the situation much, my hair still looked awful and the short length didn’t suit my face features at all. I did a lot of treatments with oils, scalp massages and basically anything that could help. I even cut my hair by myself while dry and styled to make it the shape that I like(I basically didn’t trust any professional to do it after this awful experience). 3.5 months later my hair is starting to look a bit like it used to be, but I still have a really long way to go to have the hair I had before. I am writing this because I know how stressful this experience could be. Just keep going and be patient, it will get better with time! ❤️

Yes yes yes! Just happened to me 😭 went to the same person I always go to. Asked for the same cut. But I didn't get the same cut. Too much of a gap between top layer and bottom. It's gonna take at least 4-6 months before it looks descent again. I cried for two days 😩

Bad haircuts are a nightmare! I had a really bad one at the salon that left me in tears, I went over a year before I had it cut again. My new guy trimmed and shaped it for me, and it took two more haircuts after that one before my hair was where I was happy. He has been cutting my hair for me ever since, I have not been back to the salon. My best friend had a couple bad haircuts and asked who did my hair as it looked so good. Well I have been sharing my stylist with her ever since. I don’t know why the so called “professionals” screw up so bad.

It's so frustrating. It's been 5 months and its still bad! The sides are so thin now. I don't know why she done it differently though. Shes always done it so nicely. That's even more frustrating than going somewhere new and getting a bad cut. I feel like it's going to take at least a year, probably more to go back to what it was, and that's with keeping it short ish :(

Yes, they love to tear up your hair with the thinning shears. My husband was trimming my hair when my neighbor that is a hairdresser, walked over to visit. As she watched him let my hair down in increments to trim each layer, she commented that he wasn’t taking off very much and that my hair was way too thick and needed to be thinned out. I was glad that he was the one trimming my hair, not her. He does not have a pair of thinning shears, he would not waste his money buying them, and I certainly would not let him use them on my hair if he did.

@@curldreams877, how is it now? Are you still doing the pigtail cut? Did you ever go back and tell your stylist you didn’t like the cut?

I feel your pain. I had hair stylist would cut my hair, and it was so bad I cried. That's why I decided to make a channel as. I decided cut my own hair as well. At first I was nervous, but now I cut my own hair.

It’s so hard to get a good haircut. The same thing keeps happening to me. It’s awful. I wish I could cut my own hair.

The same thing happened to me. I went to my regular hairdresser and she cut the top layers too short, left it too long at the bottom and the middle was cut into long layers which created a tiered look . I waited a few months to let the top grow out and then went to a curly hair specialist and she sorted it out. I really liked my original Hairdresser but I felt too nervous to go back to her after that.

Just saw your video. Great job 👍🏼. I notice that you are almost at 1k yet I don't see any recent videos.
I Hope you are doing well.
I'm starting my natural curl/wavy hair journey (first attempt at wash and style today actually) and I hear you say you have the same type of hair I feel I have.. not much and thin.
I would have liked to have seen what you're up to today.. again, I Hope you're well.
    GOD BLESS YOU 💯

If you don't like layers, don't cut her techniques, but it looks great on you, you have more volume on the top, and i tjonk you cut it too short your ponitail

I do like layers. That's what I always have. But for some reason my hairdresser cut the top layers way to short, and thinned the sides out. So I was just trying to shorten the length to make it look more in proportion :(
