CUTE Alert: Unbelievable Lion Cub Suckling Footage- Virtual Safari

- It doesn't get much better than following a hunch and after an 11-day-long search, finally finding a lion's den. After the arrival of the Ndzhenga Males, the majority of the Ntsevu Females have been seen mating with them and now the time has come when they have all given birth. We knew that one female gave birth in November, but had been keeping her cubs east of our boundary and then in the Sand River.
But after seeing a female going back and forth into a steep drainage line we were unable to find her cubs until we hit the jackpot.

Interesting how the rolling movements can both give the mother temporary "relief" and a 5th cub a chance to latch on and drink; this would even help with less than 5 cubs, giving smaller, weaker ones a chance--females are probably often smaller, tiger cubs too.

This is probably a "daughter," impression from the video where the first one(s) of these were being born. That could've been a different lioness, but then the cubs died or haven't been seen since. But more cubs should be on the way soon, if not already in dens.

A lioness should have more than 4 titts at least 6 .. poor babies have to fight to grow and stay alive. I hope all five made it 🙏 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾💗
How many Kambula daughters are with their mothers?
At least three of the daughters are spending time with the mothers.
The cubs should be close to 2 months old now--I saw the video where the lioness almost gave birth on camera, or at least to 1 of these little buggers. This is probably a Kambula "daughter," maybe the daughter of the 1 who had 5 cubs in 2021--2/5 of those still alive. Litters of 5 are not common. Should be some more cubs born to the Ndzengas in Mala Mala soon.
no. this is one of the 6 original Kambula lionesses, Kambula 4.
@@Maxibaluco Okay, evidence? It's been suggested before that this was the first litter for a young lioness, daughter. ? You know the older ones by numbers, they've got somewhat different faces. K6 is distinctive, the barren one, and one other looks sort of like her; the others different.
@@private4918 Whisker pattern comparisons, ear notches, face scars. We know these girls.
@@Maxibaluco Okay, thanks, I might look into it, but maybe it's just important right now to know there are new cubs. The Ndzengas had bad luck with their first 1-2 litters with the Kambulas. Maybe still something genetic with having 5 cubs--K4 might share something with "sister" who had 5 cubs in 2021.
