    The cool thing about camo patterns is that while there is a template to it, there's zero loss if you have a slight deviation here or there. Really cool truck overall, and I'm really excited to see it finished up.

    You could scale up the camouflage pattern drawings and cut on the lines to have a full size template? The truck is mostly flat so I'd think that would work well. You could maybe use the Cricut to cut out the now full size templates. Regardless, it turned out really good.

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  ปีที่แล้ว

      Because then you'd have solid edges, and these trucks were painted without templates. Soft lines wouldn't be easy to achieve that way.

    • @chedisme
      @chedisme ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking the same thing, but not with vinyl. Just cut the pieces out and trace them then air brush. But I'm sure it doesn't really matter. I'm sure no one really cared when painting the 1:1 trucks and just got as close as they could by winging it.

    Matt, out of all the different video's on the SBG. I enjoy the "How to" series the most. Good detail and explanations. Also RC motivating if there is such a term. One question: I assume you have a small air compressor running that air brush? Like button engaged and video watched in its entirety.

    When I painted my camo paint scheme on my phoenix. I used my cricut, I cut out the camo pattern. I covered all the cut outs. That I didn’t want to paint at the moment., with masking tape. Then after I had finished the color. I unmasked the next cutouts and painted them with a different color. It did take me a while to finish, but I had control of the colors.
