Oh, man! You are going to lose your mind if you watch "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling"! You have to hear what Bobby and Bill could do together. Righteous, indeed.
Grew up on this blue eyed soul brother. I’m 73 years old , black and we didn’t care about color. All we knew was this guy can sing, and we embraced his soulful talent…simply amazing to still hear his voice that gives me chills❤
Good point to make! Music was a powerful influence to help break down the color barriers you and I both knew as children. Talent doesn't care about skin color, and slowly but surely that had an impact on the world as music gave black performers a leading role in creating new musical genres, and both black and white audiences learned to appreciate the musicians who made great music regardless of the color of their skin. We are far from perfect today, but music has certainly helped contribute to moving the world in the right direction.
I’ve listened to just about the” 13:41 first time” presentations and this is tops. Love his description about performing live. Chills, smiles, tears, ….incredible Bobby ❤

You should check out “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” to see them both sing! Loved seeing you feel this one! Bobby Hatfield had a soulful angelic voice! Bill ‘Medley is also amazing and together they are crazy! ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
That's my FAVORITE by them! My Dad, when I got older, like 16 or so, would tell me that back in HIS day this was "panty dropping music." 😂😂 I forget what we were doing, but I want to say that we watching a movie that had a concert in it with ladies throwing bras and undies at the stage, but anyway the conversation came up. He caught me off guard and Dr. Pepper came out of my nose 😂
I’m crying. Loved it as a lonely teenager, loved it in Ghost, loved it as a romance song. Love it so much-and now my husband of 53 years is in the nursing home. There is a lifetime for me in this amazing, stunning song! I’m glad you appreciate the talent of the sixties.
This song was recorded by 670 people worldwide including by Elvis. It will always belong to Bobby. They were called the first blue eyed soul and every colour woman loved them. I grew up to this. I used to request You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling every single week at our local dance. Bobby has the high notes and Bill has the deep notes. They are magic. They are not brothers. No auto tune just a funny little microphone. Wait for the end notes and the little smile at the end because he got through it and his Mother was in the audience. I am 71 years old and we had the very best music to grow up with.
Bobby Hatfield gave one of the greatest ever live performances….it was absolutely incredible…his mum was in the audience hearing him sing live for the first time. No Autotune!!!
Fun tidbit: His parents were there, and it was their 1st time hearing him sing this song too. Imagine that. Also, notice how effortlessly he hit those notes & runs.
He was very nervous because his mother was in the audience, and he didn't want to make a mistake in front of her. He knew he nailed it, which is why he bit his lip at the end.
I'm 71 years old. I lived through all this wonderful music. But I'm not stuck in the past. I love everything, modern and old. I have been blessed. Keep on making great music.
Not only was he singing live but he was very nervous because his mother was in the audience seeing him sing for the very first time AND he had a head cold and yet he absolutely nailed it as you can tell by his smile and lip bite at the end
I’m 74, I feel blessed to have lived through the songs and the talant of the singers , they could make you fall in love ,break your heart and heal it all in one song. One thing was certain you’d always leave the show feeling good. The radio in the car was always tuned in to all sorts of great listening from Rock to Country. These days I don’t even turn the radio on, seems it’s always bad news, sure hope that changes back to times like we had and shared with each other👍🇨🇦
Remember when you'd hear some of everything on the radio? Blues, rock, R&B, Motown... my nieces and nephews tease me when I turn on the 'Classic 60s and 70s' station... "Aunt Lynn! Do you know EVERY song from back then?!" "Yes. Yes, I do... this was great music and I spent my childhood in front of the radio."
Live no autotune no voiceover no lip-synching ! This is the only time his mother was ever in the audience to see him live ! The runs Bobby goes on in this song I just unbelievable both of them had incredible voices. You got a check out you’ve lost that loving, feeling rock ‘n’ roll, Heaven soul and inspiration. These are all great songs.
I just lost my dad today, and this was his and my mom's song (she passed in 2012). Have always loved this one. Today's been tough, but thank you for your honest appreciation of this true gem. ❤

Yes, LIVE . . . and with a head cold and his mother in the audience . . . . this is one of the greatest preformances ever!! And the ease in his stance as he just sings from his soul
The man asking them questions was Andy Williams, a famous singer in his own right, and this was his TV show. I am 69 years old so I grew up with the music you are enjoying. My sisters and father and I "owned" the stereo all year, but come December 1, my mother took control and it was Andy Williams all month. He was what was known as a crooner. Check him out singing Moon River.
Born in '61 here. I grew up in a home where my mom played WLS (top 40 radio) all day in the kitchen. But most of my friends' parents played all the crooners. I feel like I got to enjoy the best of both worlds in a time when music was just magic.
Y'all I was born in 85. My parents were born in the 40s. I grew up on big band, doo wop, Lawrence Welk, black and white movies, musicals...love all of it.
ooooo.....Andy Williams.....Moon River: PRICELESS!!! LOVED his SOUND!! Loved A Time For Us, Where Do I Begin, and Speak Softly Love by him: SO GOOD!!! Your MOM had GREAT TASTE...and, it sound like she rubbed some o that off on YOU!!! :)
You do the younger generation a great service if they will listen that's why it's hard for us old folks to like the knew stuff this is what we had and never stopped loving it
Bobby Hatfield wasn't just Talented, he took a lot of time, effort and dedication to get that good at the skill of singing. He had to accept criticism, and even harder, listen to his own voice critically to know what mistakes were made, or to know how he could improve. Lots of practice, lots of rehearsal, doing it over and over, testing and comparing versions and pacing. He had an exceptional voice, and plenty of talent, but it was huge amounts of hard work that really put them on the map.
Almost 79 yrs old and still love to hear the "past" entertainers who had voices that needed no enhancements. My generation just expected it and we had great performers - all colors and ethnicities. We just loved their talent and music. I enjoy seeing the expressions and reactions of this young generation when they hear real talent. And yes, we have some today, but so much technology and enhancements go into their music we don't get to hear the real voice many times.
Love your reaction, and the fact that you recognize that was the way it was. No auto-tune, just real natural talent. BTW during this performance Bobby had a heavy head cold, but he wanted it to be perfect because his mother was in the audience. RIP Bobby, we loved you. 💞
This Song was written for a 1955 Movie, titled "Unchained" about a guy going to prison...... The "I didn't think it would be a hit" was a joke..... They actually took turns singing Solo songs, while touring and recording..... A Song with them together is "You've Lost that Loving Feeling".... it was in the first "Top Gun" Movie.... This a Catagory/Genre nicknamed "Blue Eyed Soul"..... I don't know it they started it, or they are just the most well known....
you are so cute... loving your authentic reactions. this was the best time ever for great music....I was married 2 years when this came out ,husband in military, out to sea for 2 years. This was a wonderful song about being lonely!!
If you pay attention to him while he's singing... it's sooooo effortless!!! It's like he's just talking to the audience but music is coming out ... An angel
I just love your reactions!! I was so in love with both of them as a teenager. I'm 73. That whybus boomers say we had the BEST MUSIC. It was real stuff!! Talent😁No synthetic crap..no redos🥰
In 1965, we had 3 TV channels, and variety shows like this were the bomb. Probably 40% of the national audience was watching this, his parents were in the audience, and they had a live orchestra reading sheet music in the background. Yes, the intro was staged, but the performances were live, live live, warts and all.
An older lady here. I never thought your videos would be fair to the oldies. But your TH-cam station is epic. Thanks you for exposing the young people to some music which is not their style. Some of these old Spivey shows are really funny.
This is just for us girls did you see him bite his lips right after that last note? His Mom was in audience first time she saw him perform and he was worried he might mess up that last high note. Thats what i heard years ago. Just adorable. RIP,Bobby.❤
I love this man. I think both of the Righteous Brothers voices are a gift from God. There are a handful of people like this. Whitney Houston was another God given voice.🕊️
Bobbys mother was in the audience at that show, and it was the first time that she had seen her son sing professionally. How much pressure on Bobby. I never get tired of hearing the song and always look forward to the reactions of those hearing and watching for the first time. In those days, we expected performers to sing like that, without any technical assistance other than amplification.
My mom worked at Harrah's Club in Reno. I was a scrawny freckled faced 4:57 kid with braces when i met them. Bobby said "you're going to be a beautiful woman, you look like your mom". Pretty sweet.❤

Probably one of the greatest performances ever. The look on his face at the end says he knew he'd nailed it.
I am 30 years older than you and this is one of the reasons my generation can claim to have the best music. Your enthusiasm is great!
The Righteous Brothers have been making girls "melt" for decades. They are exceptional.
I was one of those girls in 1965 when I was in high school.
@@thresajenkins5581 Same here. Graduated in 67.
I'm 62, and I've been listening to them all of my life, and it still blows me away how good they were.
Yes, harmonized and all by ear, no electronics, no software that puts the voice back into the tonality, all old-fashioned, no headset, just PURE TALENT.
You should check out “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” to see them both sing! Loved seeing you feel this one! Bobby Hatfield had a soulful angelic voice! Bill ‘Medley is also amazing and together they are crazy! ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
TOP GUN BABY!
Yes
Only song that makes tears well up in my eyes every time I hear it. R.I.P Bobby....we sure do miss you!
Yes
I'm 74, and this came out when I was 15. 50's, 60's, and 70's, the best music and the best times.
My man I really appreciate you bringing up the fact that he's not only singing live but it's 1 take and no Auto-Tune!!!
There was no auto-tune used.
@@tinalouise1764 sorry I meant there was No Auto tune!!!
I’m crying. Loved it as a lonely teenager, loved it in Ghost, loved it as a romance song. Love it so much-and now my husband of 53 years is in the nursing home. There is a lifetime for me in this amazing, stunning song! I’m glad you appreciate the talent of the sixties.
I work in one. I hope you and your husband are treated in as lovely, friendly, and respectful a way as I treat all my residents.
@@tangelite9968 ❤️😊
@@MarcIverson There are always a few who should work elsewhere. But for the most part he is treated with respect and kindness. ❤️😊
I always melt when he bites his lip at the end, then beams.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He doesn’t even break a sweat. He’s flawless. I grew up to these guys. No one better. One take…..LIVE!
i'm 68 and i love seeing young people enjoy the music i grew up on
Bobby Hatfield gave one of the greatest ever live performances….it was absolutely incredible…his mum was in the audience hearing him sing live for the first time.
The story is, that this was the 1st time his mother heard him live; he said it was his best live version that he ever did of this song...❤
One take. Flawless, incredible range, depth, and control. One of the very few songs that still gives me goose bumps. A true masterpiece.
Live and unedited….things just pure raw talent!!!!!
You’ve lost that loving feeling has them both and is amazing
You are so right, back then, you sang it and it was recorded. No auto tune etc. Pure vocals, pure talent. Very few modern day singers can do it.
And above all, talent was an absolute necessity in those days
As a few others have said, the music was played live and NOT a recording. You have to give props to studio orchestra for nailing it perfectly.
Love seeing these young ppl listen to and appreciate the music we grew up with. I’m 77 & the talent back in our day was undeniable
I’m 83 and I couldn’t agree more, we had no worries back in the day and some of the best music would soothe your soul
It was the first time she was there, not the only time. His dad is there, too.
I just lost my dad today, and this was his and my mom's song (she passed in 2012). Have always loved this one. Today's been tough, but thank you for your honest appreciation of this true gem. ❤
You have sympathy darlin. Blessings of peace and comfort to you and your family.
My deepest sympathies for the loss of your dear father. God Bless♡
I was born 1955 , so I grew up listening to the greatest music. I'm still enjoying music ,
one of the best groups from the old days....i grew up on 60's, 70's and 80's...even some 50's....there will never be any music to compare....thanks for showing this
I firmly believe we had the best raw talent back in the day.
ABSOLUTELY!
Yes, LIVE . . . and with a head cold and his mother in the audience . . . . this is one of the greatest preformances ever!!
I was born in '53 and my mother adored Andy Williams! I think I knew all the words to Moon River before I could read and write!
@@suecook1326 I was born in '54. My mother would fight your mother over him 😂.
I get the chills everytime I hear this song, I love your reaction to it, I imagine that's how most people react, how could you not xx
You do the younger generation a great service if they will listen that's why it's hard for us old folks to like the knew stuff this is what we had and never stopped loving it
You can tell by the look on his face at the end, when he knew he nailed it,that it was live!
Way back then there was no such thing as AUTO TUNE, just pure raw talent
The smile at the end was partly because his parents were in the audience. Beautiful song.
The one and only righteous brothers always been on my playlist for many many years. They do not make music anymore like they did back then.❤
Thanks for showing so much respect to the music of my youth. We had it the best.
Live with no autotune or enhancements. Bobby could really sing. Beautiful man.❤
I always loves how he bites his lip at the end.❤
One of the best live performances you'll ever see
Love your reaction, and the fact that you recognize that was the way it was. No auto-tune, just real natural talent. BTW during this performance Bobby had a heavy head cold, but he wanted it to be perfect because his mother was in the audience. RIP Bobby, we loved you. 💞
"You've Lost That Loving Feeling" should be your next one if you want to see them both at their best! FABULOUS reaction!
This is where blue eyed soul came from, the term was coined for these boys
A radio disc jockey in Philadelphia named Georgie Woods created the term "blue-eyed soul" to describe the Righteous Brothers in 1964. 🎵
Andy Williams, like all the great singers, was also pitch perfect without electronic assistance.
you are so cute... loving your authentic reactions. this was the best time ever for great music....I was married 2 years when this came out ,husband in military, out to sea for 2 years. This was a wonderful song about being lonely!!
If you pay attention to him while he's singing... it's sooooo effortless!!! It's like he's just talking to the audience but music is coming out ... An angel
In You lost that loving feeling you can see them performing together.Another hit for them.Blue eyed soul at its best.
You've Lost That Loving Feeling live will blow your mind. It shows how talented and amazing their harmonies were.
A teenager in the 60s… The music was the absolute best
Even if you only listen for yourself… Listen to him sing “summertime”
It will blow your mind
This song, this version is absolute PERFECTION!!! Pure talent and I get chills everytime I see and hear it!! RIP Bobby Hatfield ❤
I'm 48 and for some odd reason, at 6 years old, I fell in love with blues. This is absolutely awesome to see you watch this! ❤
My mom worked at Harrah's Club in Reno. I was a scrawny freckled faced 4:57 kid with braces when i met them. Bobby said "you're going to be a beautiful woman, you look like your mom". Pretty sweet.❤
What an absolutely treasured memory. I'll carry your story in my heart. Thank you so much for sharing.
I met Paul Michael Glaser at 13 & got a signed autograph. Still have it at 62😊
It was said that this was the first time his parents saw him perform professionally. He had a cold and was very nervous! He was absolutely flawless!
He was sick that night. Truly impressive. 40!
Also his parents were sitting in the audience.
It was a great time to grow up. I was borned 01/07/56!! The next 25 years consisted of producing; writing, performing, recording, the greatest music ever. Props to Bethoven, Mozart, Brahms, etc, however, that was maybe 200yrs of music. This was 25 ish years, but 1955-1980 was the sweet spot!!
