    I rarely EVER leave comments on any of the thousands of videos i watch on youtube .. but I'm making the exception for you, sir, because you deserve it. Your videos have helped me SO MUCH in my quest to dominate the medical industry .. you've helped make my experience playing TPH infinitely better by sharing your best practices. You've helped me promote from tinkering noob to a powerful domineer in throwing boxes up to "practice" medicine in, I thank you so much. You're also entertaining and a delight to listen to. Keep up the phenomenal work 👍

      I agree. Its enjoyable watching the doctors and patients buying sodas and sweets. Along with taking a dump, washing their hands, playing video games, and using other gadgets. Its amazing how many items there are in a cupboard. You miss than with a doctor's office filled toe to toe with medical cabinets around their desk. Better to train your doctors and staff the game is designed around, a management game of personnel, not gold stars. I have found three degrees is more than sufficient for any doctor to make a solid diagnosis for healing treatment pronto without a large amount of deaths. You don't even need the fourth or fifth degree. But I do agree with Pinstar, patient traffic flow through the hospital is vitally important... If you aren't building more and more GP doctor offices, there is plenty of space in any hospital for rest rooms, clinics, and a ward...

    Great vids! I've been using these layouts and when I had to reset the hospital I was playing, because it was such mess, these layouts made that level so absurdly easy. How about a reception vid next? I've been making big receptions but they occupy a lot of space and I'm sure it's not efficient.

  • @Randale-Joe

      Build from the central main corridor in each building of the hospital out... I prefer the main seating area in the center of the building where its a short walk to get to the diagnostic loop to the clinics located on the outside frame of a hospital... In to out... Simple basic architecture... The reception desk does not necessarily has to be located on the outer, it can be in the center as well as long as the main central corridor leads to it... Think in terms of the restaurant center of a large shopping mall...

    • @JezaGaia
      @JezaGaia 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From my experience I would say that with good diagnostic staff it's highly unlikely.
      The diagnostic rooms are not illness specific, what i mean is that it's not something like : oh I GP suspect you have a broken bone so I send you to have an X ray", it's really just GP -> if diagnostic level is lower than 100% go to a diagnostic room (random but one you haven't used already) then back to GP rinse and repeat. SO if you have say a lvl 5 GP doctor in your GP office and a lvl 5 diagnostic nurse in any that cardiology room (could be general diagnostic or whatever) then chances are most patients will go from GP to cure directly and the remaining fraction that wasn't 100% diagnosed by the GP will need only one diagnostic room.
      What it also means unfortunately is that in a well staffed hospital most diagnostic rooms are useless you can have just say the ward and general diagnostic or cardio and never need any other kind of diagnostic room.

      I found out you can charge emergency patients 100% markup on treatment. Get an emergency and accept it, when the message for a new illness pops up the treatment cost shows up in your prices tab. max out the cost and they pay it. I think it hurts your reputation though. I dropped the prices 20% on everything else to try and not get too much of a decrease.

    • @SuperballsSupervidsOnYT

      Start with a small GP office.
      Build a cardio room.
      Training, staff and toilets
      Build a power ward. Set to treatment only. If you build a psych, make it treatment only.
      Go to overview. Lower diagnostic threshold to 50%. Fast track patient treatment option.
      Build a small pharmacy.
      Make sure you have these rooms staffed.
      Train as much as you can in GP skill, ward management and pharmacy.
      Only build other treatment rooms as necessary. As your GP improves, raise your diagnostic threshold. If you ever get the message that you have exhausted all diagnostic options you can always turn diagnostic option on for your psych and ward.

    • @ronclark9724
      @ronclark9724 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hike the prices to stem the flow of patients until you have trained your doctors and staff sufficiently. Advance through the first three hospitals with the easy one star goals building as little as possible. Don't grow until you are able to train your doctors and staffs to achieve the three stars at each hospital. After you have trained up three hospitals through training, then you are ready to tackle the fourth hospital and those thereafter... Open, hike the prices, train your staff, and then grow with the normal prices. Simply put, the first two hospitals are tutorial hospitals, your ability to play the game properly is when you can start training. Controlled growth is the key to success...

    Is there a difference between Diacnostics Rooms?!f.e. is the Mega-Scan better in diagnosing than the cardiology or are they all the same?

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There is a huge difference between them. Cardiology is actually a fairly weak diagnosis type BUT I use it in my first block for several reasons. 1. It's cheap. The room is cheaper than the mega scan even after you factor in the cost of both upgrades. 2. It's Easy to staff. A nurse with diagnostic skills is easier and cheaper to come by than a doctor with radiology. 3. With both upgrades applied, it can keep up with the more advanced, expensive, diagnostic room. 4. It is a unique diagnosis type. When a patient with a really hard disease crops up, they need to bounce between diagnosis rooms and can visit each type once. Having a cardiogram and mega scan is better in that regard than two mega scans.

    Interesting... 🤔
    I’m not sure just putting a bunch of diagnoses rooms is the best idea.
    Each illness has a hidden modifier for healing.
    Let’s say you’re on a map and animal magnetism is a major issue.
    GP will give you (level 4) 80% diagnosis.
    GD will give you 12%
    Cardio will give you 45%
    Ward will give you 7%
    Mega scan will give you 45%
    A patient diagnosed with animal magnetism will go to the GP and then to either cardio or MS for further diagnosis. They will never go to the ward unless it’s the only diagnosis room available and because it’s so low at diagnosis they will be stuck on a loop going back to GP and most likely die or rage quit.
    Any hospital without a GENERAL DIAGNOSIS is just hampering your ability to diagnose and cure at a good rate.
    Just be sure to know what, where and how to use different rooms for different illnesses.
    The Mega Scan is nice but...only give you a 12% diagnosis on cross bones. But a FA will give you 45%.
    Long story short...
    I’ve found that instead of making certain areas for treatment and diagnosis, I take each building and specialize it.
    GP in every one. Example. If I have a ward, I go with a fluid analysis with a MS. This covers all injuries that will come along.
    You know what’s cool too bro? Rooms not filled up with medicine cabinets and gold star awards. 🤪. Decorating can be fun. lol. Take care pinstar 👋

      In a separate recent video, Pinstar indicates he NEVER builds general diagnosis anymore, or cardio. The only two diagnostic rooms he uses
      are XRay and MEGA. He finds those are sufficient. I think this was in the Staffing 2.0 video (or maybe a comment to that)

  • @JezaGaia
    @JezaGaia 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I've been testing some variants of this and I've discovered something pretty interesting, at least IMO :p
    Diagnostic rooms are chosen randomly (maybe distance counts) but not by type.
    What I mean is that if GP's doesn't diagnose 100% the patient will be sent to any diagnostic room that he hasn't visited yet.
    So two things to consider :
    the better the GP's diagnose the less diagnose room types you need, I would say that with GP's lvl 3 and forward specially with a great GP's room you'll need at most 1 extra diagnostic per patient before he's sent for treatment.
    Ward and psychiatry are diagnostic rooms but don't require the diagnostic perk to have efficient workers and they also serve for treatment so are not rendered useless once you have lvl 4+ GP's all around.
    What I've been doing is replacing the cardio/general diagnostic room with a psychiatry room and it's working perfectly I don't have any room that is 100% diagnostic oriented, I don't "waste" a nurse/doctor with diagnostic perks and once my GP's are good I don't have wasted rooms that are used only 2 or 3 times a year at best like I used to plus the staff that was idle most of the year but still expensive to pay.
    DNA Lab is another room that is mixed diagnostic/treatment but outside of the hospital where it's part of the quest I don't use it because there is no more than 1 level perk for DNA, meaning that you'll have to add 2 treatment and 2 diagnostic to have the best effective staff possible and that's pretty low compared to lvl 5 psychiatry/ward. On top of that there are no cabinets so it's in fact one of the weakest rooms there is. I simply send home any patient that requires DNA lab for treatment when it's not part of a quest , not worth it IMO.

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I experimented with leaning on Psych rooms as additional diagnostics early on but found them to quickly become a bottleneck, filling up with big queues even before my GPs offices did. The animation time seems long and was my original hypothesis to why they get bogged down. I may need to revisit them, though, as you do make some fantastic points. They also, like the ward, don't have a machine that degrades and requires repair and upgrading.

    • @JezaGaia
      @JezaGaia 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right that the animation takes more time in the psych than say the general diag or cardio room but if you keep on top of your psychiatrist training it still works pretty decently. And when you think about it the animation is no longer than the one in the ward, at least I didn't time it but that's the feeling I got that between the clothes changing waiting to get into bed etc per patient a diagnostic in the ward is roughly the same than in a psy room.
      And you're right the ward if the room is designed properly is a real powerhouse , thank you SO much again by the way for your video about the ward, it completely changed the game for me :)
      My first diag room is always a ward, but at the moment I've not had any issues with the psy being my second one. I've not done a lot of design testing on that one so you might even find a more efficient way to build that room but for my part I have managed to cram around 10 cabinets, cofee, sweets, a bin and the sanitizer while leaving the patient sofa in the middle of the room just in front of door (sideways for the shortest route for the patient) and I'm pretty happy with it.
      If you play around with it I would love to know your conclusions :)

    Well if some patient dies in a cure room, they will make all the npcs in hospital mentaly fucked up.
    You do need to have a DNA room close to other building gps, as Dna can still kill patients. Ward should also be out and instead replaced with more different diagnostic rooms (also more money) and npc wont waste slots for those that need to be cured.
    Psyho rooms from my experience wont kill patients.

    Good videos, except for the very odd "hello TH-cam" and rest of the intro piece.
