That was an impressive and exhausting process. My arms ached in sympathy for all your intense, hard work. I think it's awesome your sweet hubby wanted to keep it - high praise indeed! I try to challenge myself with pieces outside my 'norm', just to keep myself aware and learning. I will be a student of many things until I die. I am far from all-knowing.

I’m with you I never want to stop learning and know that there is so much more for me to learn and improve.
Grateful for your sympathy aches 🥰 it took a minute for them (my arms) to feel normal again 😂 but it wouldn’t stop me from doing it again. That grain was so worth it 😍

Hi Sarah, its my Saturday morning here in a freezing cold and rainy Johannesburg. I have a 120yr old Oak dresser restored by my Mom and always kept in a new condition to die for so I cant wait to see what you will do with this one. Yours appears in an old English antique style but I guess its American made. Mine and the wardrobes arrived on the ship during 1915 from London :) My grandmother, what a lady she was and how fortunate I am to have her beautiful oak antiques. Anyhow, see you later when you wake up ...

Oh wow I love this Gail! Love that you have that piece restored by you mum that so special.
Thanks his piece reminds me of colonial furniture style from Australia which probably originally came from England 😆 #colony

My dear Sarah, what a task with the cleaning, sanding and repairs. When you began to sand and the woodgrain popped through, I knew the natural wood would be showcased. That Odie's Oil really enhanced the wood grain. This is definitely a classic piece....and we won't mention the inlay. It was nice to see that this piece is a 'keeper'. Enjoy!!

It might have taken less time to paint it and it probably would have been pretty, but this is gorgeous!!! I love it! 😃💖💖💖👍. PS the new handles although mor modern in style compliment it nicely because of the color and geometric style of the inlay. You nailed it completely!!

Amazing job! I love your videos so much. You should consider marking the videos where you don't talk as much as ASMR...it's just the sounds of your craft. I think you would be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

What a transformation! Glad the workout was worth it. Lol! Thanks for the heads up on the amount of work it takes to apply Odies. 😅

Thank goodness, that’s likely an English piece. It’s amazing looking the way you redid it. Very respectful of its age and Pedegree. I’m glad it wasn’t coded in chalk paint. Not that there’s not a place for painting but this piece was a step above a mass-produced piece of furniture.
