    The recipe for pickled turnips/Lebanese lifit is easy:
    3 cups water
    1 cup vinegar
    1/3 cup kosher salt
    1.5 tsp sugar
    get all the above in a pot on medium heat until it is well dissolved. Then let the mixture cool completely.
    in a sterilized (or well washed) mason jar, add some black peppercorn, roughly chopped garlic, sliced turnips (french fry size) and sliced beets.
    pour over the brine until the top and close the lid.
    let it sit for at least 5-7 days before opening and enjoying!

    It's good to see that rutabaga can be used as a viable option to make pickled turnip. Locally, rutabaga are always available and often on sale for cheap, while real turnips are less available and cost more.

    i think thats a rutebega you used there akhi, not a turnip
