I really like seeing amoonguss in competitive because it’s always 3 big dragons or crazy monsters or dumb dogs with swords and then one dopey, pudgy mushroom that’s a quarter the size of the others but is somehow able to survive triple the amount of hits, and I find it very amusing.

I feel like part of the issue is that people try to treat Brute Bonnet as an "Attempted Upgrade" to Amoongus when it really wasn't supposed to be, the angry mushroom is trying to do an entirely different job with Protosynthesis and has a lot of those tools because it's a mushroom

Maybe it is copium because I like brute bonnet but to me it is really just the fairy weakness that seperates the two. If fluttermane wasn't a thing then I think bonnet would've been around much more since while still supporting it also occupies a much larger offensive presence than amoonguss. That being said it is probably copium.

Paradox pokemon share almost nothing with the pokemon they resemble. They aren't alternate forms they're seperate pokemon. They also often fill entirely different roles on a team.

I don't think tier lists don't matter imo. Some people like pimpnite and temp6t show that all Pokémon have their use. So you can even do something with Brute Bonnet, even wih such a type disadvantage. I heard someone say before stats don't always mean everything.

@@Snubbull3000 Amoonguss is a defensive pivot that is very useful to play around a lot of threats, it's clear smog is useful in dealing with set up threats, Spore is a valuable asset as always and it's just good. It's OU by usage and really good
Meanwhile Brute Bonnet is legit trash, this thing is barely even UU by usage and is probably gonna drop at any tier shift now, this shit isn't even that strong (why would you use it in OU over Meowscarada and Roaring Moon ?) whilst being slow with one of the worst typing in the game. If you seriously, unironically, think Brute Bonnet is better than Amoonguss you simply do not play the tier, simple as that since Brute Bonnet too doesn't even kill stuff but it also doesn't have any utility or defensive value either
