Cylons are terrifying. They literally just APPEAR above your home and start spamming nukes. Jesus you would need really fast response times to stop a mass Basestar attack like that even WITHOUT the CNP.
The reason both Galactica and Pegasus were not immobilized during the Cylon attack is because, in the case of Pegasus, their computer main frame was down for repairs. Adama refused to have the Galactica use the defense frame network. Thus the virus placed in the Colonial Defense System by Number Six did not affect both ships.
Nice! How I would loved to see a fair fight between the Colonials and the Cylons. I think the Colonials would have owned the Cylons with those Valkyries.
50\50 chances, valkyries are smaller cheaper battlestars with little to no armor on the ventral hull, The Mercury Class Battlestar is the Primary Battlestar meant to Slug it out with Basestars and are heavily armored on all surfaces, valkyries are support.
The cylon basestars are basically design for planetary bombardment with multiple missile launchers and raiders drones, but no kinetic weapons for ship to ship combat. The Battlestars flak are the best counter to that. So the cylons would probably be able to inflic a lot of damage to the planets but not enough damage to the colonial fleet to win easily. In the Miniseries, Adama tells Kara, "We lost 30 battlestars in the opening attack." She responds, "That's a quarter of the fleet." I know this is how things had to begin, but just once I would love to see what it would have been like if the colonial fleet didn't get disabled by a virus. Still a sneak attack by the Cylons but quickly disintegrates into a huge slugfeast with multiple Battlestars fully operational. Maybe just on one of the colonies, the virus completely fails to work. The Battlestar group breaks out and counterattack. The Cylons instead fallback on throwing every Base Star they could divert into the fight.
Considering how modern cylon basestars just crumble under direct fire and considering just how many bloody guns are stacked on those Valkyrie-class... Yeah bud.
There should be a short film that takes place during the miniseries where the Colonial fleet realizes why they keep losing and disengage their linked computers. Thus the last 25 Battlestars go out in a blaze of glory.
The fact that the Cyclone's compromised the defense codes of the colonies, was a masterful piece of strategy. Yet, without number 6 inside job help. I wonder if the Cyclones could have pull it off without her enabling help. Just wondering...

What other race/faction would they have any war or possible conflict with other than Cylons? Aliens? What aliens? This show is based on that we are the only race in our corner of the galaxy. Really, this is like building a submarine that can't go under water, or a destroyer without anti-aircraft guns.
Have you actually seen this TV show? Ok, if you guys have something to add to correct me, do not hesitate & sorry for my english. So, as far as I remember, the Cylon attack is not based on an EMP but more like a virus/a hack, a virus which has been able to penetrate the Colonials system and disabled it because Dr. Baltar gave Number Six access to the highly classified Colonial defense mainframe for love and without knowing she was a Cylon. "They were then able to override the sophisticated computer systems on each battlestar and viper fighter in the fleet and shut them down, then rendering the ships defenseless." Regarding the Galactica, Raiders tried to shut her down and her Vipers but since she had no networks, the shutdown command had no effect at all. Hope it helped. Cheers.
Because they were quiet confident with their firewalls. :) Seriously, I don't have the answer to that, I suppose having a network can be quiet useful on some Battlestars like the Pegasus which actually needs half the Galactica crew in terms of number for a heavier class. For the record, the Galactica did not have network thanks to Adama, he didn't want any if i'm right, and the Pegasus was docking at the Scorpions Fleet Shipyards for maintenances, so they took it offline before the actual attack. That's why they both made it. Hey, check this out for many more details on BSG: en.battlestarwiki.org/ Have a good one.
I've never seen The Plan so can someone tell me if the Cylon's did one massive simultaneous attack on all the colonies or did the essentially planet hop from colony to colony?
RobzterGames damn that's smart. Can't split the fleet effectively to counter and it looks like there may be 100 basestars to planet. Assuming that after the fleet is gone, they can split anywhere. Very clever indeed
Lol. Robztergames answered your question correclty but made it sound so easy.... it wasn't just really like that... If all the cylons had to do was "one coordinated attack on all of the colonies" they would have already done that... But they couldn't since the humans had advantage and were superior. The cylons were given acces to the Colonial defensive mainframe by a computer scientist called Gaius Baltar. Baltar believed the human cylon who requested the codes were working for a Company within the defense industry and that she needed the codes to win a future contract bidding. In excange for this she helps him create a navigation program used by Colonial warships - covertly creating backdoors in the program. So when the Cylons attacked the 12 colonies, they use those backdoors to penetrate software security firwalls - disabling entire fighter squadrons and sabating vital capital-ship systems. So in the end.. the only reason The Cylons could carry out their attack was because of a traitor and by a stupid mistake. Before the attack - the Humans had an edge over the cylons and were superiour. However, the Cylons are network created which means that if they get access to a network they can pretty much shut anything down which makes them extremly dangerous. The Humans had been succesful in keeping the cylons out.
@@mopeters4172 yeah I remember that little ass and how he essentially sold humanity for sex. Still I can see the practicality of the methods. Electronic Warfare and infiltration are some things that these Cylons how to do masterfully.
I wonder how it is that the Colonies can have advanced ships, weapons, and propulsion systems, and yet everything they have, other than their space-related stuff, is identical to technology on earth.
If you are refering to the scene where the battlestars are disabled by the cylons then you are wrong, they are not scared of battlestars, certainly not the light battlestars anyway, because those were only light battlestars and wouldve at best killed 1 basestar and damaged another basestar so its most likely that the cylons couldn't be bothered with 3 battlestars when they had to destroy the planet.
you know i started supporting the cylons from around mid season 2 right until the end... the humans were pagan polytheistic worshipping bastards, whilst the cylons were monotheistic and realised the purpose of 'god' before the humans did, which is why the rebel cylons were the first ones to extend an olive branch to the humans. Cavil was a bastard though, and boomer was a bitch!

Hey, check this out for many more details on BSG: en.battlestarwiki.org/
Have a good one.
Aye. Wasn't there a third Battlestar that survived? Or was that just a fanfic/game?
Swofer Dryma One quick point, Balthazar wasn't aware that number six was cylon when he entrusted her with the codes.
Oo i'm talking about the big one like pegasus, columbia and galactica...
I've never seen The Plan so can someone tell me if the Cylon's did one massive simultaneous attack on all the colonies or did the essentially planet hop from colony to colony?
one coordinated on all the colonies at the same time, in order to confuse the colonists and not give them time to respond.
ERA/ The Mass V Battle Star Galactica perfect rapport
I wonder how it is that the Colonies can have advanced ships, weapons, and propulsion systems, and yet everything they have, other than their space-related stuff, is identical to technology on earth.
If you are refering to the scene where the battlestars are disabled by the cylons then you are wrong, they are not scared of battlestars, certainly not the light battlestars anyway, because those were only light battlestars and wouldve at best killed 1 basestar and damaged another basestar so its most likely that the cylons couldn't be bothered with 3 battlestars when they had to destroy the planet.
im just saying this would be an awesome movie trailer
pretty intense
Why you don't download window 10
as the name of that song to download?
iv only seen battlestar galactica and these clips arnt from it is there other types of battlestar galactica out there ?
if start video with "see what i've become" , will pretty too.
I wonder one battlestar can take out how many basestar.... no wonder the cyclons are so scare of battlestar
0.55 in which episode?
Also controls the centurions if she wants, as is shown in the 4th season.
The "woman in a bath tub" is called a "Hybrid" and it controls the Base star, not cylons. In other words she's a Base stars computer.
you know i started supporting the cylons from around mid season 2 right until the end... the humans were pagan polytheistic worshipping bastards, whilst the cylons were monotheistic and realised the purpose of 'god' before the humans did, which is why the rebel cylons were the first ones to extend an olive branch to the humans. Cavil was a bastard though, and boomer was a bitch!
Hey, probably a stupid questions but is this music supposed to sound like Carmina Burana? Some parts are uncanny....
May I use this in a video?
Music goes well with the theme of the attack. Drama, action, that sorta thing.
Use what? The music?
No, I mean the whole video. I don't have the ability to use clips like that so I was wondering if I could use yours
XlentGamingNetwork 02 Hey, sorry I didn't get to answer you sooner, hum YT notification system is kinda shitty, but yeah, no problem, go ahead with whatever you gotta do with it. If you could just post me the link of your work down below, I'd like to check it out. :p Cheers

Michael Barnett A faster version of O Fortuna from Carmina Burana.
+FurryAminal and some people think classical music is boring.:)
You're not up on your music, are you? This track is a variant of the classic piece O Fortuna, which was written in the 13th century.
@lendial I'm gonna guess its the jump drive's "drop it here" effect. And making ships randomly appear out of nowhere would be boring :)
Which battlestar are when the colonies get destroyed
If you are talking about which ship appeared when it was attacked, then it looked like the battlestar Valkyrie.
The Emperor it was the Battlestar Valkyrie and yushuman
music?
