Based on my real life experiences at Hooters, the women are the reason Hooters became successful, and also the reason why they will close. Shifts in our culture changed the attitudes of women, and all of the waitresses became entitled and rude. The service declined significantly, and as many people have already said, they hired people who simply didn't belong there. This also includes the management.
3:41 The marketing back then was hilarious. "Hey kids! Dad's a horned up pervert and mom's getting old so tell her the menopause isn't gonna bring itself!" :D
I have been to Hooters only a few times, and it was when I was in military and TDY and would go out to eat when people would want to eat there. The women were attractive, but the food was average at best. The last time I been to one was in my mid 30s. I am now I am in my 50s, so I would not feel comfortable attending a Hooters when the women working there are my kids age.
I know exactly why they are going out of business. I ate there for the first time in several years last week. Their wings used to be big and juicy, a lot of sauce and friendly waitstaff. We went there and the wings were super tiny and just totally dry, like middle of the desert dry. I complained about the wings and they were nice enough to replace them, but they were just as bad and did I mention tiny?
Closed in our area years ago. Ate there once maybe a dozen years ago but found the food average at best and never went back. But, popular with 7th grade boys.
Men went to Hooters for mainly one thing. And not their food exactly. Me too screwed up the atmosphere. I hope they didn’t think they were getting all the business because of the food.
It's literally in the name on why they went there the restaurant name is the whole reason why probably 95% of men went there and probably a lot of women too
That is not 100% true! Where I grew up we had a hooters and a diner. We had a lot of work lunches and dinners at Hooters because they had different food than the diner. There were just as many woman and guys who attended our meals there. Not one person complained!
I wish I knew about this restaurant back in the 2010's I loved the wings, the sides and my food comes at my table within 20 min. I noticed 1 location closed 6 miles away from my home now I have to travel 12 miles to get there. I hope this last location sticks around for few more years. My mom even loves their food too.
I went to a Hooters in downtown Phoenix on a blistering hot summer day back in the 1990s. The costumes were perfect for the climate in that many customers were similarly dressed to survive the heat. The food was good. However, I've never been back. In milder climates, what's the point of a T&A show when all you want is lunch?
What the biggest things that is killing Hooters that they're not saying is when the original owner of Hooters passed away the owners at the time with the family split up the owner who was forced to sell his portion back to the family, he then joined Twin Peaks. The expansion of Twin Peaks not only killed Hooters but it killed Twin Peaks as they just filed chapter 11 with 50 million in debt. Another odd thing about Hooters they don't hire girls that have any visible tattoos Twin Peaks on the other hand all the girls look like a walking comic books of tattoos
I'm as close to a walking beer commercial as a man gets in America these days, and I describe my perfect "type" as "short, busty, and cute"-in other words, I'm a prime demographic for Hooters-but when I'm out for pub grub and a TV with sports on, I want the food to be worth the premium price of a sit-down casual-dining place. That means B-Dubs or the local brewpub. If I want women to flirt with me while I'm eating out, I'm a generous tipper and word gets around.
The lads from the gym used to meet up at the Hooters in Bradenton, but I never saw any reason to ever go there. I don't drink alcohol, grease dripping chicken does not ring the bell. I see real, better hooters on Lido Beach.
my favorite bar the Tilted Kilt closed down in Anaheim, CA too right next to the Honda Center and the Anaheim Stadium. it was a great location. I heard they weren't making enough money after the pandemic and the lease was getting too expensive so they didn't renew. also, the staff was complaining that the owners didn't know how to run the business. that's like 4 Tilted Kilt locations that closed down w/in the past 8 years in So CA and yes, the Hooters in Anaheim closed down too.
Yeah, we have so many options in my area it's ridiculous. If you can't offer to notch food at a reasonable price, a gimmick won't keep people coming back.
@davidmccarthy6061 Like for example Portillos. They starting to grow to other places outside of Chicago. A lot of restaurants are expanding outside of they region and it's more competition.
My buddy and I took an Uber over to the Hooters Casino in Vegas in 2017 we went to play some Blackjack yeah that hotel was run down even in 2017 they still had tube TVs in the rooms now that hotel is OYO now and it's still just as bad
All of the things mentioned here in the comments, plus: No one younger than Millennials go out drinking after work AT ALL anymore. Watched that culture quickly change over 10 years at - of all office workplaces - Anheuser-Busch. These kids all go back home to their parents' houses after work and do I dunno what... no one does happy hours anymore.
Used to be the only place before wild wings to offer more than just Buffalo flavor wings. Now every state has several places with a variety of choices and can bring the wife or meet women there instead of the paid actors.
When you have good quality ladies but not the food that doesn't help you. The other thing is many sports bars opened up and have way better food. One thing that didn't help was being on the show undercover boss exposing. The problems. For the one here that didn't matter because it was closed before the show
Spoken like a true genius. I'm sure Undercover Boss sent ripples throughout the breastaurant industry that we're just starting to unravel lol I'm glad the location by you was closed before this major economic and cultural event.
My beloved late wife let me know there would be "Hell to pay" if I ever went there. Eh, ok honey, fine. Ironically, she had NO problem with me going to strip clubs for several buddies bachelor parties. Seems it's because of the "Hooters Girls" flirting and getting "handsy" for tips.
Their food is garbage and I think the "breastrant" concept is falling out of favor with the public. Even if their wings were edible I don't think I would take my wife or daughter anyway.
i used to scroll through manifestation videos thinking, why does this work for everyone else and not me? it felt like the universe was ignoring me. then i read Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and wow, it made so much sense. chapter 3 showed me how i was focusing on the lack instead of abundance, and that was holding me back. i started shifting my focus and applying the exercises from the book. within a month, i landed a side hustle that completely changed my financial situation. it wasn’t luck-it was energy. this book made me see that.
10:20 I live in Wisconsin my ex wife used to work at Hooters back in 2010. It was definitely a lot of racist ish going on then. The Manager told her he doesn’t want her hanging around black chicks it could ruin her image and tips. I’m black he proceeds to ask her if we all have big. I was terrified disgusted and angry all at the same time I didn’t even think they existed anymore I looked it up and there’s one in my state but it’s three hours away. I honestly just think the owners and management are out of touch with reality and racist 😅
I loved Hooters for all the wrong reasons. My friend and I went for lunch one time and I ordered a cheeseburger and it tasted great. My friend ordered a chicken Caesar salad and ended up getting food poisoning. Needless to say, we never went back.
i’ve always been that person who watches manifestation videos, takes notes, and tries everything under the sun, but nothing ever seemed to work for me. i was stuck in this cycle of frustration, wondering what i was doing wrong. then someone mentioned Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. i gave it a shot, and honestly, chapter 3 made me stop in my tracks. it explained how my mindset and energy were completely out of sync with what i was asking for. it wasn’t overnight, but after applying what i learned, i started getting new opportunities, random gifts, even raises at work. it’s not magic-it’s alignment, and that book showed me how to find it.
They never will it's quite funny how up to this day the Trump supporters have rarely have ever said anything about the politics or the election while the idiotic other side are the ones continuously bringing up the election bringing up politics and all that crap they'll never get over it
i was at my lowest point, drowning in bills and completely lost on how to move forward. i kept seeing people talk about manifestation and how they’d turned their lives around, but no matter what i tried, nothing worked. then i found Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. chapter 3 hit me so hard-it was like reading about everything i was doing wrong. i started focusing on shifting my energy instead of obsessing over my problems, and things started to change. small things at first, like random discounts or finding money i didn’t know i had, but it kept growing. it’s crazy how things can turn around when you just understand the energy you’re putting out.
i used to think manifesting money was just a fairy tale people told themselves to feel better. i’d tried affirmations, journaling, even vision boards, but my bank account stayed the same-empty. one night i came across Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. i wasn’t expecting much, but as i got to chapter 3, something clicked. it broke down how my energy was actually repelling the abundance i wanted. i made a small shift, and no joke, within a week i started getting unexpected money. it’s not just about saying you want something-it’s about matching the energy of it. crazy how something so small can change everything.
Why do you think Hooters is failing?
There are too many items to list.
Liberal society
@@Keith_McDaniel I’m all for a liberal society!
I don't know but once I discovered Ojos Locos basically the Mexican Hooters I died and went to heaven and I stopped going to Hooters
The food sucks
Hooters were never about their food. Then, their food got worse, and started to hire people who did not belong in their outfits. That's the reason
I think Hooters as a "inside cultural joke" is played out, and the food was never all that great.
People have moved on.
It was fun at first, then the food arrived.
EXACTLY, Never had a good meal at Hooters.
It's O.F.s fault 😂
3:41 The marketing back then was hilarious. "Hey kids! Dad's a horned up pervert and mom's getting old so tell her the menopause isn't gonna bring itself!" :D
It’s a disgusting ad dude. Not tasteful just gross

This was a great recount of a restaurant that has been around for so long. Terrific facts and information. 😁🌟
The sauce sucks, they don't cut the wing tips off, price is off the charts, and the Hooters girls are the only attraction.
Closed in our area years ago. Ate there once maybe a dozen years ago but found the food average at best and never went back. But, popular with 7th grade boys.
For those whom have never been to a Hooters. The girls don't look like the ones in the commercials shown in this video. Just trying to save ya a trip.
They did in the 90s!!! 😂😂😂
Men went to Hooters for mainly one thing. And not their food exactly. Me too screwed up the atmosphere. I hope they didn’t think they were getting all the business because of the food.
To me, the food is pretty good to me, they can get rid of the big boob girls since im a straight women who’s a foodie lol
It's literally in the name on why they went there the restaurant name is the whole reason why probably 95% of men went there and probably a lot of women too
Beautiful women who don't know how to be friendly. Thinking every guy wants to be with them. It just got old.
That is not 100% true! Where I grew up we had a hooters and a diner. We had a lot of work lunches and dinners at Hooters because they had different food than the diner. There were just as many woman and guys who attended our meals there. Not one person complained!

Similar to strip clubs, no point in just looking and no action
Are sales sagging?
lol
It'd be easy enough to prop them up, wouldn't it? 😉
They’re loosing business cause a’s complained about not being able to work there. They gave in and started their down fall.

The Hooters Playboy magazine was good
i honestly didn't think Hooters was still around....
Honestly, I went there for the wings, but I feel like I can get wings at other spots now.
I think it depends on location. It's to many options when it comes to restaurants now.
Am I the only one who has never been in a Hooters?
I’m in the minority that thinks that Hooters wings are the best out of the chains, especially at their original Clearwater location.
I think it would be easier to bring back vaudeville.
My buddy and I took an Uber over to the Hooters Casino in Vegas in 2017 we went to play some Blackjack yeah that hotel was run down even in 2017 they still had tube TVs in the rooms now that hotel is OYO now and it's still just as bad

Well…..I went to a Hooters once, and only once. The main selling point ain’t all that. And then….the food isn’t very good.
Those customers in Sugar Daddy Villages are not in for the wings 😂😂😂😂😂
Sub par food and a shrinking target customer base
What!!!! 🦉 🦉's is struggling to stay in business??? Why has this not been declared a National Emergency??!!??
There are way more Asian massage parlors now than in the past, lol
And you get "real" service as opposed to just looking at hooters girls
Should offer massages
Happy beginnings, and endings.
Other breastraunts came out and actually serve good food….Tilted Kilt, twin peaks, several others…. Nobody goes to hooters for the food,
They should be called "MEEP-MEEPS" at this point. The top talent went to only fans.
Used to be the only place before wild wings to offer more than just Buffalo flavor wings. Now every state has several places with a variety of choices and can bring the wife or meet women there instead of the paid actors.
The food was just ok at a high price. I am not a wing person, and their other food options were not that impressive.
hire hot women will come back
They were my favorite until after covid. They went downhill after and I stopped going

The women are basic adjacent to the food ... The spark is gone ✨️
I call the Breasteraunts .. In my area most of them have closed...I am in a big city

They got rid of the grouper’s cousin and the strip cheese sandwich
The wings are the best.
Because There Food is Dog Shit ?
I have never liked their wings.
How about their food is awful?,
Their food is garbage and I think the "breastrant" concept is falling out of favor with the public. Even if their wings were edible I don't think I would take my wife or daughter anyway.
Food is terrible.
Quality of food is awful
The girls are awesome but the food sucks.

Also probably has a lot to do with them hiring men it is called Hooters not dongs, checklist culture caused this
There food isn’t good that’s why
Old, outdated and the food isn’t worth the time to go spend money there.
Update the clothing and look. Its very dated.

This video says they are trying to attract Nascar racing aficionados. They've clearly identified their demographic.
@ and look how they’re turning out
The argument goes that you can't get much mileage out of Guinness-colored servers if your clientele prefers the look of Miller Lite.
@ Nothing wrong with that. Gotta do what you gotta do
@@Abj0609 with what exactly
Their food sucks except for their wings. Those horrible nylons -- rediculous. But their girls are so much more customer friendly than Twin Peaks.

H 🦉 Chicken sandwiches were good- 2000s. I was never big on Chicken Wings.
Even in my single days, Hooters offended me. I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be a prude. I just don’t like the idea of scantily clad waitresses.
Blame society
Given the return of misogynist attitudes in the US, I expect Hooters to come back into style soon.

Jim Crow Joe being president hasn't helped
Even for MAGA this is a weird thing to fixate on. More understandable for the foreign bots though.
