yeah its not confusing nor pointless, Xbox is about gamepass, which means TONS of games, having more games to offer then playstation and physical games are a thing of the past.
Here in the UK, physical games are still being sold. Game Pass I understand. However games that are sold on the store (Digital), should always have the physical media available. Microsoft could have supported this new Series X with a separate 4K Blu-ray add-on.
There is definitely a market for a digital only console, and Microsoft knows this hence why the console was released in the first place. The series X has only recently started outselling the series S (by a very small margin) and that's a digital only console 🤷♂
Sounds like he skimmed the top posts of all time on r/gaming and just repeated all the talking points throughout this video. I honestly thought he was just reading a reddit post on camera.
Don't get me wrong; the Series X offers great hardware performance for its price. The graphics are impressive, and there are titles that can run at 120fps. It's a fantastic value compared to investing a high amount in a gaming PC. However, I wanted to highlight that Microsoft fell short in the design aspect. The decision to eliminate the 4K Blu-ray drive without even lowering the price of the console, here in UK it's literally similar to the Series X with the 4K Blu-ray drive. It would have been beneficial for Microsoft to include an option for those who still appreciate physical media in gaming.
They continue to offer a disc drive at the same price for those who value physical media, keeping it consistent with the regular Series X. It’s unfortunate they didn’t lower the price in the UK; even the $50 reduction here in the U.S. feels negligible. At that point, it makes more sense to pay the extra $50 for the model with the disc drive. I rarely buy physical media, but whenever there’s an option, I choose the console with the disc drive. That was not your point though.
I think they should at least offer an external disc reader to connect to the console. So people can buy this white console and still have the option to use physical discs.
@@RaveSmoove No. You still can have the digital console but Microsoft could have supported physical games for those who prefer. Similar PS5/Pro. You have the digital edition and can easily purchase 4K Blu-ray as add-on.
@@RaveSmoove Make more sense to get a PC at this point. at least you can add a disc drive to it and be able to do more with it. the whole appeal of a console to me was just putting a game disc inside and start playing it. now its evolved backwards and we got to download all this trash patches and wait forever to start playing, microtransaction buggy mess.
I’m completely fine with Microsoft making a separate console that’s digital only. At the end of the day, the Series X (disc edition) still works and is supported. It’s up to the buyer to decide if they wanna go with that cheaper price point or not. At least they didn’t pull a PlayStation and make a new refresh that doesn’t include a disc drive, stop selling the original Series X, and force people to pay extra for a disc drive that is required to go through firmware updates in order to work properly. I get people don’t want an all digital future, but I don’t see why Microsoft are the ones in the wrong here. PlayStation had a digital only PS5 available at launch. No different to what Microsoft has done here. It’s just an extra option, and is nowhere near as stupid and annoying as PlayStation are now being with their disc drives.
Key difference is that Sony offers both a PS5 disc edition and a digital edition with option for a disc drive. White Xbox Series X (digital edition) lacks this flexibility, limiting its appeal to only digital gamers and effectively capping the market in half.
Had a bud get his console banned ( Series S ) 2020 version. Because he was a toxic gamer. Made multiple accounts to by pass com bans and, He made one to many and got his Series S perma banned. And his OG 7 year old account banned as well. Lost access to all the digital content he bought even movies. I told him to go physical the day before he got a digital console, But he didn't listen. So he's out of thousands of dollars and a brick console. All because he didn't go physical, Him being a toxic pos was his own fault. But i tried to at least get him to go physical at least he could have still had access to his games. ( On the disc ) Just a warning for people who think they can't get banned and a lesson in buying digital consoles.
Yeah without a disk drive it does not work to play games at all, just like most high-end gaming PCs that dont have disc drives, they are just used for Netflix. I dont even know why someone would spend 3K on a gaming pc, then not include a disc drive so it can only be used for Netflix, crazy
If this happens starting with next gen, Xbox won't recover. Look at Xbox One release regarding owning game disc then Microsoft made a U-turn after the backlash.
If it's confusing and "pointless" and you prefer physical media, then why did you buy it? 🤔 You make less sense than this console. The PS5 Pro doesn't even come with a disc drive so that nullifies your point.
I waited over 2 years for a white Xbox Series X. I'm highlighting what Microsoft could have done better rather than restricting the market to digital only just for the Series X white variant. PS5 is available in disc and digital. PS5 Pro doesn't come with disc drive but you have the option to buy the disc drive separately and it will work just like the PS5 digital edition. Look at Microsoft, Series X digital doesn't even have support for disc.
White Series X to match my entertainment setup. Playing games on the 4K OLED TV especially 120fps. I'm highlighting what Microsoft could have done better rather than restricting the market to digital only just for the Series X white variant.
I dislike PlayStation and I have no interest in its ecosystem. However kudos to PlayStation though. They offer PS5 disc and digital edition. Digital edition has option for disc drive where as Microsoft just locked gamers to digital only unless they go for the Black or Galaxy Series X.
Playstation always have the better looking consoles, they have more skins you can buy to customize. Honestly they even allow you to add a drive later on. Sony is for the people, xbox rams gamepass down on a digital only console but only 1tb space? Mate two games and that console is full. Before you can finish your game it will be off gamepass because you cant install another game till you finish it to make space for the next game... But you can purchase a $600 2tb edition are they mad? Rather buy ps5 pro which comes with 2tb and runs games at incredible fps!
Honestly, playstation is better than Xbox. i just got my playstation 5 slim disc edition, and it's so much better than my Xbox series S. i have haptic feedback voice commands, beautiful amazing graphics, and a built-in mic and adaptive triggers.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ i absolutely love my playstation 5

Not complaining. I'm highlighting what Microsoft could have done better rather than restricting the market to digital only just for the Series X white variant.
1) If you didn’t like a digital console there was no point in you buying it, 2) why didn’t you review this when Phil Spencer 1st revealed the white series X digital? 3) The point of the digital console series X is to replace digital Series S consoles so it’s necessary. 4) Xbox Gamers wanna play these new games with a power resolution but series S that can’t handle. 5) For people who don’t mind digital it’s no point convincing them to buy a physical copy disk never gonna work out for ya favor. 6) umm you do realize if the game is taken off consoles and no longer has licenses you can still play the games as long as you already have them in your data play those games before it was taken off regardless they are physical disk or digital except for people who never bought thoses games in the 1st place can’t no longer play those games even if they buy it physically still won’t work . 7) makes no sense to have blue ray physical drive for digital consoles defeats the whole purpose,I don’t understand why you mention that in the video, if that’s the case you should’ve just bought regular series X or Galaxy series X that has disc drive along that is also optimized along with blue ray disc drive you’re speaking of.8) along with my second question you could’ve just reviewed it on xbox site that shows new series S- X what comes with its perks.
I got the Series X in white to match my entertainment/gaming setup, this is why I didn't get the Galaxy edition. I don't want to talk about a reveal of a console until I actually get my hands on the actual console. I understand a digital only console. Look at PlayStation, they offer PS5/Pro digital edition but give everybody the option to purchase 4K Blu-ray add-on and get support for physical media. Why can't Microsoft do the same? Personally Microsoft messed up. If games are removed due to license, physical games can be played if the disc itself contains the full game apart from online only game.
It’s not wise tho, you’re not getting the game like you used to, I feel like all we’re getting is a digital license now. Sometimes variables like internet connection can prevent you from enjoying a product you paid full MSRP for AND didn’t get any box OR physical indication that the game is now yours I get it varies game to game, like we don’t need a disc for warzone or Fortnite, sure, but I think we need to ALWAYS have the option of grabbing a disc when we’re paying so much

Never missed the disk drive on my series S. Was worth the upgrade for me
I miss buying used games at half the price of them new.
Aye. Some prefer digital and works well. I prefer disc for games apart from the multiplayer games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, Warzone etc.
people like u will be the end of gaming. it already is dying. but its on its last legs.
I think they should at least offer an external disc reader to connect to the console. So people can buy this white console and still have the option to use physical discs.

i like physical media not digital
Then you would buy the XSX with the disk drive, this is not hard, only idiots like the guy who made this video cannot figure it out
I have used the disc once or twice on my xbox one x and Series X, if I had the option to pay less I would have take it back in 2018 and 2021.
I get that but the Series X Digital Edition is nearly the same price as Series X Disc Edition.
Why didn’t you buy an Xbox series X galaxy edition 2tb ?
