Well, don't get confused by one thing that Bhairav ​​Garh and Langur Garh are different or the same. The name of this entire mountain is Langool Parvat and hence the entire mountain itself is also called Langurgarh. It has two forts on two peaks, one is named Langurgarh (Hanuman Garh) and the other is named Bhairav ​​Garhi (Bhairava Garh) and the trek to both the peaks is also different. That is why these two are one despite being different.
Little History:
King Ajaypal and his successors ruled the Garhwal for nearly three hundred years even during this period they had faced a number of attacks from Kumaon, Mughal, Sikh, Rohilla. An important event in the history of Garhwal was the Gorkha invasion. It was marked by extreme brutality and the word ‘Gorkhyani’ has become synonymous with massacre and marauding armies. After subjugating Doti and Kumaon, Gorkhas attacked Garhwal and reached as far as Langoorgarh despite stiff resistance put up by the Garhwali forces. But in the meantime, news came of a Chinese invasion and the Gorkhas were forced to lift the siege. However, in 1803, they again mounted an invasion. After capturing Kumaon, they attach Garhwal in three columns. Five thousand Garhwali soldiers could not stand the fury of their attack and King Pradyumna Shah escaped to Dehradun to organize his defense. But his forces were no match to the Gorkha might. Garhwali soldiers suffered heavy casualties and the King himself was killed in the battle of Khudbuda. The Gorkhas became the masters of the entire Garhwal in 1804 and ruled the territory for twelve years.

An ideal family outing Naveen. Yes,it's from July, therefore overdue by some months,but still a good enough reserve to fall back on.
Uttarakhand is traditionally known as devbhoomi,so is full of sites, shrines, places and sights that will give succour not only to the faithful,but also the non believers.Bhairav garhi is one such site.
The weather was excellent initially,but subsequent rain and fog added a mysterious dimension to the journey. And with a relatively novice driver at the wheel,an unmistakable sence of apprehension.
The location is exceedingly beautiful and rains and fog highlighted the verdant ambiance just by that extra measure.
The journey and climb is well captured. Your familial bonding is clear and implicit.
Overall a good blog that keeps up with your standards and creative passion.
