" Ghostriders " is pretty much a staple for every country & western band. Every guitar player knows it and can pull any version necessary for the gig. It's one of those songs you are expected to know.

That is not their Halloween video. That is coming out soon. It got delayed because of the hurricane. probably Friday or Saturday.
It is absolutely fantastic. Even better than In The Hall of The Mountain King. but still can be used for Halloween.
Didn't think they could do it but they did.
I do recommend watching that Martha. It is awesome and funny. Bunch of trolls around a cauldron singing (sort of) their hearts out. Listen to the very end. Even during credits. That's funny also.
In The Hall of The Mountain King

Comparing with Voctave one or closer Echo (it having similar vibe to Voiceplay style wise and friggin E.J. Cardona in the lead). Especially fitting now Hocus Pocus 2 is released.

However. This one by Geoff is the first spooky season video.

Geoff has named his alter egos - it started with Way Down and them having name tags (each a spelling of Geoff used by fans) but - there were only three other voices/singers in Way Down, and in this one there are 4. No idea why Geoff named the extra guy 'Daryl' but it's been said that Daryl is the guy in the long leather coat. So - no backup singers outside of Geoff's usual alter-ego selves. It's all Geoff, all the time.

In 1962 I was 11 and my dad had a stereo and records to play on it. I was the first person home from school or work and I would put a record on and listen to it while I did my chores. Marty Robbins was the fellow that did a version of this. So I grew up on it. It was great fun having Geoff (Jeff) do his version. He did it proud. Thanks for covering it so quickly, SL!

Love Geoff's rendition! The song was originally written by Western actor/singer Stan Jones around 1948. You can find a copy of Stan's version here on TH-cam. Please note: when Stan Jones performed it, the yippee yi ay was sung before yippee yi oh. Don't know when it changed during the decades, but by the time Jonny Cash sang it, they were reversed.

This wasn't originally intended to be Geoff's Halloween video, so I don't know if he plans on doing another one or not (I suspect not, as much trouble as he had with this one). He originally started it back in June, but had some problems and got sidetracked with various things and side projects (In the Hall of the Mountain King, LOL!), so it ended up being delayed quite a bit. But it was certainly worth the wait!

Always enjoy your reactions to Geoff and to Voiceplay, Samantha. The lighting and 3D effects done by Eli Jacobson, Eli is the bald tenor in Voiceplay.
This song is an iconic American song, not surprised that you haven't heard it. I've heard a lot of other versions, Geoff's is best, trust me.
I don't know if Geoff has another one coming out for Halloween, the schedule got all weird.
Voiceplay put one out about 2 or 3 weeks ago, In the Hall of the Mountain King, which I thought, because it's all costumes and kind of spooky, was their Halloween piece coming out early. I was wrong, and that doesn't happen very often. They have a really spooky one coming out in a few days. You need to react to both of them. Trust me, you won't be sorry!

This was my favorite song when I was five years old (1957). I had this record on a 78 rpm record by the Sons of the Pioneers. The Sons of the Pioneers version was released in 1960 and over the years there where quite a few notable member of the group. Ken Curtis of "Gunsmoke" fame, Roy Rogers and Roy's sidekick on his TV show, Pat Brady to name a few.

This is literally Nicholas Cages Ghost Rider end credits song, that another band sang. Ghost Rider was and still is a Marvel Comics character that helped bring about new music inspiration, without even realizing it. Needless to say, Ghost Riders is referring to more then one. Because, the intro of the Nick Cage film literally goes: “Every generation has one, some doomed soul cursed to ride the Earth collecting on the Devils deals until the end of days.”

Eli did the lighting and created the digital backgrounds, but Geoff did the video editing. Was so frustrated at one point with the rendering,(getting the green screen out) that he said he might have to film it again, like they did Monster Mash last year. But Kathy said no (bleeping) way. So he kept working with what film he had. It's fabulous.
