Finally, we successfully completed the third fast charging test. The outdoor temperature was 40℃, the SOC was charged from 4.9% to 100%, and the battery temperature rose from 35°C to 51°C. The battery was charged at a high power of 39.33kw for 43 minutes. During this period, the temperature rose by 13°C.
We summarized and analyzed the results of the three tests, we got 2 conclusions as below:
    1) The temperature changes during fast charging. Combined with the SOC before fast charging, the temperature and temperature rise values after three tests of fast charging are very stable, and did not exceed the operating temperature range of CATL cells(-20~55℃). It's also did not reach the limit value of Leaf VCM suspending charging
    2) The maximum fast charging power can reach 39kw, and its continuous running time is also very stable, it’s about 40 minutes (Nissan officially stated that the fast charging power is 36kw when the SOC is 10-80%)

For those wondering 96mv at 318v aint too bad, and all the cells are at a similar voltage.

@@silvy7394 When the battery level of the lithium battery is lower than 20%, it is normal for the voltage difference to be slightly larger. There are two reasons for this. First, the discharge curve of each battery cell cannot be completely consistent, which will result in different voltages. Second, when the battery level of the lithium battery is low, the internal chemical reaction will be unstable, which will also result in different voltages between the battery cells. We usually focus on whether the voltage difference value is appropriate when SOC is 20%~100%.

How did you get that battery for a LEAF that old? May want to buy soon. I'm at 8 bars.

Thank you for the charging curve. So it should top around ~40kW until ~50%SOC...Is this correct? Figures shown are hard to read. 😅

@@fernandinand The 40kw fast charging power lasts until SOC is about 70%. Unfortunately, there is no English version of this fast charging app. I have marked the key data as much as possible. If you still have any questions, please feel free to discuss with me.

@@CoraLiu-VIVNE If constant charge curve @~40kW reaches 70%SOC, that means we should charge this pack from ~20% to 80% SOC in about 45 minutes? That's the real test a regular user wants to see...not a full charge on rapid charger from 5% to 100% (IMHO)

@@fernandinand Thank you, that is a good suggestion. In fact, our test this time is to check the temperature changes of CATL battery cells during fast charging in extremely hot weather. We will find an opportunity to do the test you mentioned in the future.

@@CoraLiu-VIVNE please make a high power charge test with 2 stops for a regular long trip with around 500km in order to check for rapid gate charging issues. That would be a normal real world test.

@@fernandinand Very good suggestion, we will arrange it as soon as possible, let us look forward to it together.
