As I said last time, we are a great big community, united by the magic of TH-cam and the love of motorbikes. When any one of us hurts, we all hurt, when something good happens, we all are happy. You are not alone. Never will you be alone.
First, I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter. No parent should have to experience the loss of a child, so I send my deepest condolences. Second, no one should ever have to experience the violation of theft. Unfortunately, there are people out there who just really suck. If I’m not mistaken, this is the same Royal Enfield you had nearly stolen and damaged before? I actually found your channel when you did a video about your ‘02 BMW 1150RT while your Royal Enfield was being repaired. I, too, have an ‘02 BMW 1150RT, and earlier in 2023 I bought a new BMW F850GS. I believe those who have a true passion for riding have a true passion to experience life rather than simply living life. My mantra is, “If not now, when?” Please keep experiencing life to the fullest and sharing it with your viewers. There will always be an occasional nay-sayer, but there are far more good and supportive people who are like-minded and enjoy what you offer. Take care of yourself, and cheers from California.
I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter Dave such sad times for you. If they get the little sod who stole Ivy he should be made to understand the devastation you’ve had to go through. He didn’t just steal a bike, he took away a form of therapy and a way of dealing with a tragic loss. I’ll join you in the 5 minute queue if that’s ok with you. Stay strong my friend. 👍
Christ mate. I guess we'd no idea. What pain you must live with pal. I can only imagine. 😔 I worked as a counsellor for 10 years and if I know anything, I know for any of us with a cross to bear all it takes is shit like this to put us right back on our arses. You'll come through this Dave. The theft and destruction of your bike is a proper kick where it hurts you most right now, but it WILL pass. God bless you pal and thank you for your films. They beautifully entertain a lot of us out here in TH-cam land. Here. Have a big hug pal.😊👍❤
Oh Dave......I'm 6ft 6ins and consider myself to be fairly hardy to the ways of the world. But, to hear your story and hear of your losses, brought a tear or two of great sadness and anger to my eyes. You must NEVER give up Dave, ever, Nobody ever said that life was going to be fair and they weren't kidding. Let Ivy go, she achieved more in her short lifetime then most of the 350's will ever do. Shut this chapter of your life down now, what's done is done and can't be undone. look to planning for the future while being mindful of the past, You might think you have lost nearly everything mate but we are all here still and you know that anything you need, you only have to shout.
Thank you so much, you have expressed so well what I and so many others feel. We have a deep love for Dave and although I’m in my late 89s, living in Devon, I just want to ride up to Yorkshire and give him a big, big, hug.
Sat here listening with a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat Dave. You're one brave character to share such personal, almost devastating events with all of us in such a calm and collected manner and it's such a credit to you...Many of us, including myself could not have been so brave. You're some guy who I've really only known existed for a very short while due solely down to Ivy and the remarkably frank and honest way you come across in your videos, they really are a breath of fresh air. So glad to hear you're going to carry on. Please don't change...You've captured so many people's hearts, and deserve all the love and respect coming your way.....My little Rosie will be with me very soon.....Best wishes always.. ❤
My heart goes out to you over the loss of your daughter and over recent events. It's hard to know what to say, but that your videos are a God send. The fact that Ivy has helped you through your loss, your videos are helping so many of us. Your trips are inspiring. Regarding the state Ivy was found in, i hope and do believe that sonething good will come out of it. You have a tremendous gift. Keep going.
Oh mate. All I can do is send you a big Yorkshire man-hug, and reassure you that we, your viewers, won't be going away! I and obviously thousands of others love your channel, and are with you 100%. Those pictures of Ivy were awful, I bet you were nearly in tears. I would've been. I've not suffered a loss like yours, but I have severe depression, and I have to say, riding my bike (a carbon copy of Ivy) is as good a therapy as any I've had. Getting out on the road really, really helps, so I'm very glad you're so determined to carry on riding and doing your channel. Big man-hugs to you mate. I'd love a ride out with you sometime. 👍
Thanks your support means a lot to me. Depression is a terrible thing that no one can see, and if they haven't been there can't fully understand. I feel a ride out coming on when I get back on a bike. Stay safe mate, if ever you need support, remember I'm here, drop me a message. Ride safe, Dave
My heart goes out to you and your family over the loss of your daughter. You’ve hidden your pain well and every video you share exudes joy and gratitude for your opportunity to enjoy the beauty that surrounds your home on such a special motorcycle. You’ll never forget the loss of your loved ones, but time will help to ease the pain. I wish you all the best in resolving your insurance claim and look forward to seeing more videos of you riding through the beautiful countryside that you enjoy so much. As an American living in Portland, OR I’ve learned a ton from you about your part of Great Britain and follow along on Google Earth to see where you’re riding on the map. I’d never heard of a bacon butty sandwich before watching your channel and found a source of HP sauce so that I could make my own. Can’t wait to see your next episodes.
Words simply fail me Dave. I completely understand your family tragedy, through personal experience and there is nothing that can be said to relieve that pain. As for the scum that did that to Ivy, what I think of them is beyond any form of censorship. It is good to hear you praise the Police. It is fashionable, it seems, in the media, to criticise everything they do but try living in a country without the Police. Take comfort from the heartfelt wishes, coming your way.
Strange how calamity can bring the best out of us. I died 3 times receiving treatment for my Leukaemia. A team of nurses fought hard to bring me back to life. They cut of my clothes to kick start my heart and stuck epi pens straight through my trousers . I had oxygen masks and nurses shouting at me to come back. I took 3 very serious reactions to my treatment and came good on the fourth attempt. 3 years ive been fighting leukaemia and prostate cancer. I was very ill but during my chemotherapy l done my motorcycle theory passed all my motorcycle tests and bought a Honda cb 500s 2002 beautiful bike. I almost got signed to race motorbikes for Aprilia when l was young . I grew up with bikes , trials, Motocross etc. The more l get knocked down the tougher l become. Steak in the heart ❤️ Silver bullet. I refuse to be beat. Forget about those boys who stole yer bike, waste no more time thinking about them, for their's is a dark world and you my friend walk in light. Love and best whishes from Ireland Dave. Onwards and Upwards.
Hi mate, my god you have really been through it haven't you. Rebecca had cancer when she was 9 years old, and although it was touch and go at times, managed to pull through. you're such an inspiration, to be going through all that and do yoou bike test at the same time, amazing. It's on thing I have found, however low it gets there is something to fight for. I've been looking at the amazing countryside in Ireland, who knows one day I might get to ride it. Stay safe mate and keep riding, shiny side up, rubber side down, Dave
@thatblokeonamotorbike Dave, it truth be told , l was so shocked and saddened by what happened to your daughter, l felt l had to say something. Life's not easy, that's for sure.
Well done for putting this video out there and talking about such personal experiences, its very admirable and you seem like a very genuine person. Your videos are so calming and I love watching you cruise through the Yorkshire countryside, I live near Harrogate so sometimes recognize certain areas. Stay strong and just know that all your subscribers are with you! Your daughter would be so proud of you!
So sorry to hear of your terrible problems. Loss of the bike nothing compared to your daughter! Ive been retired for 5 years now. Got to keep active, have goals and meet with other like minded people. Don't give up the bike and carry on with your channel which is great. Best of luck for the future!
Dave, I am so sorry for your loss. Yes, I will stand in line with you if they let you within three feet of the perpetrator(s). It was disturbing to see Ivy like that. I have enjoyed all your rides and explorations with Ivy. So sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. It is tragic when parents lose a child, no matter what age. You have been brave to share your story and I thank you for it. Always remember those you love and move forward sharing your passions and stories. Take time for yourself because if you don’t care for yourself, you will not be able to help others. I look forward to watching the tours you did with Ivy this summer and your future rides on either Ivy or your next bike. Blessings my friend. Shiny side up.
Bravo for sharing all that mate. Sorry for both of your losses. Credit to the police for being so supportive and proactive on retrieving the lovely Ivy. Keep it all coming.
Just discovered you only for this to happen. I live near Durham. Motorcycle theft is bad up here. Consequently, I hired a lockup a few miles away. 24hr security. £60 a month. It sucks that we have to go to such lengths just to be able to go for a ride. Can't really afford it but what can I do? I'm so bloody sorry to hear about your daughter. Becky. There aren't enough words. 😢 Chin up old mate. Get back on the road ASAP. 8 reckon Becky is a lovely name for your next bike! Cheers. Jez.
Dave, we all have to cope with loss during our lives but you have suffered a loss far greater than most of us can comprehend. All I can say is I'm very glad to hear you have again pulled yourself out of those depths and decided to carry on sharing the joy you get from riding your bike with us. We will appreciate those rides even more knowing just how much they mean to you. Thank you, Mick
Dave, Your post was both heart wrenching and completely understandable. Especially given the circumstances that you’ve dealt with in recent years. As a fellow member of public safety, I absolutely understand the issue with PTSD. You mentioned that you were amazed by the support given to you from friends all over the world. There is a reason for that mate. Your videos make us feel as if we were right there with you and your demeanor makes us feel as if we’re listening to a mate we’ve known for decades. Good luck to you, Dave. Things will get better. Cheers, mate.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, it does feel like I'm riding with my mates. You will know why we do the job in public safety, not the money, not the recognition, it's the feeling of helping. Your message has done that for me. Keep safe out there. Ride safe, Dave
Very brave and very moving. Your daughter, a tragic loss in impossible circumstances - compounded by lockdown isolation/compression. Now this! not comparable in terms of loss, but another loss, this time to mindless vandalism. You've been tested!! When you're sorted... We all look forward to seeing you surge forward with a new partner for your journey!
So sorry about you daughter. I lost my son when he was 20 from an undiagnosed heart defect and was present throughout the resus process as a member of St John Ambulance. Stay strong fella.
Hi Mate, the loss of a child is something no parent should experience. You don't know how to cope, you just do somehow. We have both been at the sharp edge of it, wanted to swap places with them in the blink of an eye, but no amount of wishing would make it happen. We stay strong for those around us, while hurting inside. Bikes have bridge the gap between two people who have the same terrible experience. The power of two wheels, stay safe mate, here for each other if needed. Dave
Mate, you have really been through the mill, my thoughts are with you & your family. Good on you for getting back up on your feet & on 2 wheels & carrying on, your daughter would be proud of you.
I think I can speak for all of your Viewers and subscribers, WE are here for you! It took a real man to say how you feel, and to tell us of your terrible loss, glad you decided to keep going for us, the future can only be brighter! Cheers, DINO and Family.
After hearing your story and reading all the comments, I am genuinely at loss for words. Life is not kind to any of us, and that's a reason to keep going against the wind and be kind to others. 60y old bear here, and he shed a tear for you... A friendly hug from far faar away.
Dave, what an awful experience with your daughter, I feel for you. Please keep the channel going, you’ve given us some great videos - especially the ‘Lost Valley’ around Millington.
Dave, thank you for being so open and sharing with us. You are the single reason I bought my Classic 350 in the summer this year after a break in riding of some 18 years. I appreciated the couple of instructional videos you did and I’ve enjoyed watching how you ride just as much as where you ride. I have learnt so much. Never doubt the support of this community and the regard in which you are held. I’m so pleased you will have another 350 if Ivy needs to be rested, they are exceptional bikes and I love mine. Thank you mate for the channel and the time and effort in producing your videos. Keep up the good work. Best wishes, Paul.
Hi Paul, really glad you got a bike, lots of smiles per mile to come. There are lots more videos as well to come, I will keep going. Ride safe mate, Dave
Motorcycle nuts are born not made. Regular people don't understand. I feel sorry for them because they don't have a clue. Being retired I just love riding even more if that's possible. Happy time with your new bike. Best wishes from the USA.
Keep going strong my friend, we've all got your back, I'll come up & take a good ride with you any day. Any help you need just shout out to your band of brothers. Strength & Honour. Steve
Hi Dave thanks for letting us know about Ivy. I was so upset for you when she was stolen and it is equally upsetting when you get her back in that state. I would love to meet up again with you and go for a bimble we seem to ride very similar speeds and take the corners expecting something round the next bend or a cup of coffee at Eddys .Stay strong hope to see you soon Alan
Thanks for sharing this Dave, so sorry. words are useless mate, sending my love and good will to you and your family. your channel is a blessing to me , and a total pleasure to watch. just thanks for taking the time to make these vids for us, all the best. x mark.
Well Dave I am not sure what to say my wife and I are sat here with a tear in our eye after this video. We are so glad the biking community has helped you and airing your feelings is a brave thing to do but you have nothing but support from the community you have built up with your hard work. I am with you hard though it is I hope Ivy will be written off and you can start afresh and build some new positive memories. I hope we can meet up next year I may even buy you a coffee(says the tight Yorkshireman lol) it would be great. Take care Martin
I purchased a GPS tracker to fit to my bike, however I sent it back as I decided if the bike was stolen I would not want it back. There are some disgusting people around. Thank you for the update.
So sorry to hear of your loss of your daughter, you've certainly been through the mill what with ivy and everything else. I really hope your life changes for the better and I'll wish you a happy retirement for when it comes and hope you have fun creating more material for your channel 🙂,all the best 😊
Thanks for the update Dave life goes on what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I too have been riding bikes since I was 16 now nearly 71 come Christmas.old bikers never die they just smell that way all the best in retirement 👍🇬🇧
Keep your spirits up, Dave. I'm so saddened to hear about your daughter and can't imagine what you and your family went through. Ivy can be fixed or replaced, but I do understand your pain and its hassle you don't need. Motorcycling has been very beneficial for my mental health over the past few years and has been great therapy in helping me put things into perspective. I look forward to the videos you post as you are one of the content creators I view as soon as a new video is uploaded. I'm certainly looking forward to the Northumberland adventure as this is somewhere I'd like to explore on a motorcycle. Hopefully, one day, we might meet up over in the Peak District as this is a particular favourite of mine to explore as it's quite close to where I live. Take care and stay positive.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, I love Derbyshire as well,. I spend a lot of time riding there. We will defo meet up and have a cuppa and a natter. Ride safe, Dave
Hi John, thanks mate, how about next summer I try to get down your way and we have a ride out. Keep riding, once a biker, always a biker, ride safe, Dave
They do say that if everyone stood in a circle with their troubles in a pile in front of them and were given their choice of the heaps, they'd still pick their own. Yours are hard to see but I'm so glad you could share them with us. Glad and yet humbled, that you can go through the events you have and yet still put one foot in front of the other. I've never been without a bike in nearly 50 years and people ask why I still do it. I just smile knowingly. They'll never know the peace of mind, whatever life deals you, that a bike can bring. A bike is not just transport, it's a friend, an escape and a companion. Having had two stolen over the years I know the violation that you feel over IVY. Get back out there Dave. Be sure to get the pillion seat option, because a lot of us will be riding with you. Take care of yourself lad.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your Daughter but good that you have been able to share this, as they say talking helps. As for Ivy she can be replaced, then further adventures can carry on. Your honesty is a breath of fresh air in these troubled times, you should be proud of what you have achieved with this you tube channel. Regards from a fellow Classic owner in Hampshire
So sad to here your story and to see your ivy in a rearly sad state.keep up the vids.and keep your chin up alot of people love your rides n chat.and yes agree on ramming em off road.👍🏍
I don't know what to say Dave, this is heartbreaking to see and hear on both counts. We all love to watch the channel and it brings us some enjoyment in this mad world we live in. So glad that you're going to carry on and not let the despicable actions of some low life's break your stride , your strength will gather back up as it did before. Keep your head up mate and take strength from all of us out here and look forward to maybe a future gathering and a brew with us all at one of your ride locations? Love and thoughts from Me and the missus. 🤝 ❤
Good luck to you sir, as I'm sure it is due to you. And thank you for giving me the desire to take my motorcycle test at 61yrs , you are an inspiration, please keep the films rolling and God bless you.
My heart goes out to you brother. Keep strong, look forward because time is a great healer. I'm so glad to say that for every scrote there's a hundred sound bikers. God bless ya pal.x
Its horrible what they have done. Wait till they grow up and it happens to them . I'm sad for you but you can move on and not let them win. We are all rooting for you. As a Christian I can assure you your daughter is safe with Jesus and you will see her again . I lost my nephew at 16 and though sad I know he is safe . You are in my prayers , hold your head up and don't let them you get you down. Bless you .❤
Dave. You are a bloody legend. I can't even imagine how hard life must be for you at the moment. I wish I could do something to help. Get another classic 350. Keep on keeping on. If ever you want a holiday in Australia there is always a room here for you. 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Michael, I'm only me mate, just the way I am. You may not believe it, but you do, do something. Knowing you like the videos is enough mate, you are a star. You never know, I might just take you up on that offer! Stay safe, Dave. 🚲
@thatblokeonamotorbike . I am the bloody Yorkshireman that has chosen to live in Australia. The guy who used to ride to Matlock on a Sunday morning with the missus on the back. Sometimes it is hard living on the other side of the world. But when someone does me a big favour I don't forget it. Your life must be bloody s**t at the moment. It will get better. I am sorry for you. Keep your chin up mate. Even though I don't really know you, you have a friend in me. 💙
Hi Dave, such a shame about the bike and everything, we've seen you at Monyash and had a good natter with you before, you are right about motorcyclists we are a friendly bunch and look after each other so all the best and you have followers all overxrhar care about you and can't wait for more if your interesting videos ❤
Thank you for sharing with us those incredibly difficult moments. I am a motorcyclist since 1979 and feel great that the spirit of the community still survived in our .... society of today! All our problems are a bit further away when we ride our Royal Enfields, and when we cannot, we have your videos, and those of other friends on youtube, to breath fresh air in front of our screen. Thank you.🏍🌻
Or Dave feel so sorry for you 😧 must have taken a lot to make this video, feel gutted for you and ya family 💔, such a sad story, for sure I will be continuing to follow and support you and ya channel going forward 😆, hope you get sorted asap with Ivy 💪 much love to you and ya family 💞
Wow, what an horrendous experience for you & the family. So sorry for your loss. I can understand why you feel so low at times & it’s hard to stay strong & focused. With regard to Ivy, it’s been a rough experience but at least you know the outcome. Coincidentally, there is a Welsh chap on TH-cam,who has just purchased an identical bike as an insurance write off from an auction & is attempting to get it roadworthy again. Hope you are able to pick yourself up & we are all looking forward to further adventures whether it be on reborn Ivy or a new machine. Chin up 👍
I live in Denmark, drivin' a little 250 Suzuki, chances for riding with you in England are pretty small. But, I've been with you, on several of your videos, and thank you for that! I'm really sorry for your losses, and hope you'll keep living by your mantra, KEEP THE SHINY SIDE UP!... Kind regards, Roald...
I found your channel very recently. I've just bought an R1150RT and I loved vicariously touring with you. It gave me a taste of things to come. I was sad for you when I saw the 'Stolen' video. I wanted to comment, but I thought that would be intrusive. I'm sorry now that I didn't. Thanks for your kind heart, your gentle voice and your laid-back videos. And know that I'm sorry for your loss. In all the noise on TH-cam, your quiet presence stands out. Keep your chin up and keep posting!
Dave, I´m so so so sorry about your daughter. But, looking forward, your reaction is what everybody expects from a gentleman. Nobody can compare between one daughter (or anybody), and a bike. I also want five minutes with those boys. And your decision for another Classic is the better that you can. Sorry about my poor english, I appreciate every one of your videos. My best wishes for you.
Thank you for this update, this house just fell silent as we sat and watched and listened to you. I'll be honest I don't really know what to say to you, apart from we all wish you the best, it's wonderful to hear you say the channel is going to continue. Look after yourself and hopefully see you soon 👍
Just watched your latest video, I am heartbroken for you, please take heart that everyone is wishing you well, we will get through this with you! Regards Don.
A brave and moving video; much love and best wishes to you. Hopefully bike situation will be resolved swiftly and I look forward to seeing all your future rides. Make sure you look after yourself and keep your family and loved ones close to you; times have been tough. We bikers are here for you pal. Regards Richard
Thanks for sharing all that with us. I am glad to be part of a community that feels for you and yours. Always look forward to seeing you and Ivy. So sorry to see her in sich a bad way. All the best for the future. I will stayed tuned for further adventures from you. Living in the dry wheat belt of Western Australia it's lovely sharing the country lanes of England with you and seeing such green colours😊. Thank you
This is beyond sad on so many levels, chin up and know us followers are right behind and next to you, big love and bravo on sharing your trauma , stay strong xx
Thank you for your openness, Dave, and so deeply sorry for your personal loss. I really hope that, with time, your grief will become a bit easier to manage. As for 'Ivy', and I do really like my bikes including my little Hunter, it is only a collection of plastic and metal bits and there are plenty of new ones available for you to add your personal touches to. I say that as a mechanical design engineer but I would also be most gutted if any of my bikes were trashed by some worthless pieces of dog poo. Anyway, I do care about your plight and it sounds like a lot of other like minded souls do too so lets all stick shoulder to shoulder and enjoy those ribbons of inviting tarmac. Like you, I also find riding very useful for my sanity and happiness in this rather soulless world. Will look forward to your updates on the bike situation, cheers for now, Phil (from Somerset)
Hi Phil, thanks so much for your message, it really helps me and my family. I will get another bike, and make it my own. None bikers will never know the feeling we get from riding, it's magical. Ride safe mate, Dave
Sorry for your loss and the brutality done to Ivy.. Keep riding and posting... Always a joy watching your bimbles... No tonic like an open road... Be safe. 👍 *BARRY*
Dave what a bloody shame about Ivy the Bast…. s got to be a written off tbh it’s the best all round😮 can’t believe it😮 You must carry on indeed and once this sorts itself out Youl be fine!! So sorry to hear your story it’s really sad and extremely difficult and your doing a wonderful thing helping others out 😊😊 Look forward to the future videos and can’t wait to see the side car on the road! Stay safe All the best phil
Im sorry to hear about your daughter and Ivy . Please look after yourself and chin up mate. I love Fridays when your videos come out and sit here watching them with hubby.
Well done, Dave; it takes great courage to open up like that. I know how hard it was for me when my wife died (injuries received in a car smash), but I cannot begin to imagine the pain of losing one's child, no matter how old they are. I definitely understand your pain about what's happened to Ivy, but things can be replaced; people can't. As for the scumbags, please put me down for a place in the long queue for my 5-minutes worth. Nil illegitimi carborundum, old son - and know that you are never alone.
Thanks your support means a lot to me. Loosing anyone you love or are close to is horrible, both of us will get there mate. I've put you name down for the queue. Ride safe, Dave
I was quite moved by this one Dave. Most of your videos are about the bike, but this one is about the bloke. Ride out the rough stuff mate, there's always smoother roads ahead eventually.
So very hard to find the right words to comment. As a parent, that hit hard. Riding is a type of medication a few of us need. The few that understand the need, no explanation is necessary. God bless.
First of all so sorry for the loss of your daughter, truly heartbreaking for any parent. Credit to the Yorkshire police for trying to put a stop to these thieving scrotes....
I came to your channel just looking for reviews of the classic 350. Didn't expect to encounter big life events like these. Stay strong. You're an inspiration.
Sorry for your loss Dave both of them ,I for one will continue to support your channel, I have ptsd and I get how it affect every aspect of life, stay strong 💙
What a sickening sight to see Ivy trashed like that. It would have been bad enough dealing with her theft but to be be confronted with that would have been horrendous. Add to that your personal tragic story, you have done well to have come back into the light.
OMG Dave, I take my hat off to you, that must have been such a painful commentary to have made. Words can't express how you've been feeling this past few years, and the way you've coped with it. You certainly have made a lot of "virtual friends" through your videos. Really hope the insurance does the "decent thing" and you're able to get yourself another Classic., the idea of an interactive element is brilliant, I'm sure, we'll all look forward to it.....baest wishes...Pete, Sheffield
Thanks Pete, I can't wait to get back on a bike, it's my safe place. You're in Sheffield, when I get sorted coffee is on me at Derwent Dam if you fancy one. Ride safe mate, Dave
@@thatblokeonamotorbike Thanks, that would be great Dave, I'm a bit of a fair weather rider, so tend to not go out on wet slippery leaves and ice. They've spoiled that coffee stop for bikers a bit, flattened that bank where the bikes used to stop, and put paid places for cars. Keep smilin' ...Pete
I've been sat here for over half an hour writing and deleting how to word my message properly, it's difficult to know what to say that hasn't been said already. So I'll keep it simple. I'm so sorry for your losses, sending love, hugs and prayers to you and your family. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down 🫂 🤗
Well Dave, you have already coped with the wort kind of loss a person can face, and made good things come out of it. Your son was right - if you don't mind me saying. There can be no more fitting tribute to your daughter than that her Dad trains people to save lives. I wonder how many are alive now, who would not have been if you hadn't done that, and if not already - how many will survive in the future. Last week,I was incandescent about the bike. My first response disappeared - probably because I was too angry, but after hearing your story, I have more perspective. You'll get another bike Dave and you'll make more of your excellent videos, but also - I bet you will train more people to save lives when people are in trouble. One thing is for sure - the sun will rise tomorrow, and life will look better when the night is banished. Serious matters aside - I am really looking forward to your Northumberland tour. That's where I live - about one mile south of The Milecastle Inn on Hadrian's Wall.
Thanks your support means a lot to me. Teaching FA is a double edge sword, puts me through hell, but makes me hopeful it might one day help someone. Northumberland is such a fantastic area, I will be back up there next year, so much still to see. Ride safe, Dave
It WILL help people. It is inevitable that over time, many of the people you train will come across incidents involving people needing very urgent help. They will know what to do and they will act and all because of what you taught them. @@thatblokeonamotorbike
Hello Dave you have been so courageous in making this video to share with us all. Just to say we're all behind you mate and will be for as long as you need us to be. Here's to better times in the future buddy god knows you deserve it. Best wishes for now, Pete.
Your a good guy Dave and a good exanple of, and to, us bikers in general. Don't forget mate these degenerates will not take over your spirit. Your daughters story is sad but time will heal...if we meet in the future I am sure you will find similar sad stories among your biker pals. Words are inadequate but may be you won't mind me saying a prayer for you , Take care lad.
So so sorry to read all this.. Can't even imagine what you've gone through . Yr openness is heartbreaking... Glad all yr followers have and are giving you strength.. sending our love and regards .. Ali/R x
So sorry to hear about both your loses Dave. I to would like to be in the five minute queue…. They have two selfish minutes of madness and don’t realise or think about the heartbreak and pain they course. Things will get better and like one other chap said, hopefully close the chapter on the lovely Ivy and move on with the next chapter. Easy said I know but perhaps it would be for the better. All of our thoughts are with you and we look forward to seeing you on the new bike soon.
I hope someone in your local motorcycle community hears rumours of the scummy b******s who’s responsible, the damage to Ivy would bring a tear to anyone’s eye, 4 bikes have been stolen local to me over the last 4 days, flogging is too kind for them. Best wishes Dave.
My heart goes out to you Dave, thank you for sharing and thank you for helping others. We all wish you well and hope the support you have here helps. Keep the faith mate, looking forward to the next chapter and more 350 adventures. Take care mate.
I feel sad and angry and so sad again for You, Dave. Why and how can people be so stupidly destroying beautiful machines ? And their riders at the same time ? I just don't get it, it seems the world gets more and more mad. My 350 Classic,( beside my BMW sidecar outfit ) helped me getting over big health problems... so I can feel the pain You're going through. I hope time will heal .
I am planning on buying a classic Royal Enfield, so your video has struck many chords with me. I am so sorry for your loss, i cannot imagine how you felt and are trying to handle it. you are doing your best and staying strong in her memory. my hat is off to you sir. your sentiment for |Ivy confirms to me that the classic is the bike for me so i am looking forward to May. Those photos boilrd my blood, so im right behind you for my five minutes. Stay strong i will go back and watch your other vids
So sorry for your loss,I know from experience what that trauma is like. You can ramble on all you want as we here in the TH-cam viewing world are I suppose an extension of your family all be it not necessarily physically but as you have pointed out we are all here and support you with our thoughts and prayers and well wishes. I hope they are quick in replacing Ivy and you can be back out riding around again. Keep your head up and ride on,with a bit of luck the scumbags will be caught. I wish you all the best from here in Australia and am looking forward to more of your lovely tours of the countryside
Hi, you all do feel like and extension of my family. We have both felt the terrible pain of loss, I feel for you and your family as well. Stay safe mate, Dave
As I said last time, we are a great big community, united by the magic of TH-cam and the love of motorbikes. When any one of us hurts, we all hurt, when something good happens, we all are happy. You are not alone. Never will you be alone.
Cheers mate, one bike biker family. Ride safe, Dave
I worked as a counsellor for 10 years and if I know anything, I know for any of us with a cross to bear all it takes is shit like this to put us right back on our arses.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Thanks your support means a lot to me, see you for a ride out and a cuppa as soon as I get back on 2 wheels. Ride safe, Dave
Thanks your support means the world to me mate Defo a ride out together. Ride safe, Dave
Well said. This idea you mention, of shutting down a loss, is much frowned on these days, but it is what got my grandfather through after the Somme.
@@Tonyv1951Sorry, I don't do 'Politically correct'
Keep going.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Thanks your support means a lot to me, you are welcome riding with me anytime mate. Ride safe, Dave
❤
Just seen this hope life is more bearable now
I am speechless, please take this as a token of my moral support.
I wish you and your loved ones all the best.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
@thatblokeonamotorbike Thanks Dave, Battle onwards 👍

Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Hi Chris, thanks mate, it really helps. I'm looking forward to riding with you when I get sorted. Ride safe, Dave
Dave
I’m so sorry man, for your los of your daughter and of Ivy. It’s hard but keep on going. Don’t give up. You never ride alone! Never forget.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Mate, you have really been through the mill, my thoughts are with you & your family. Good on you for getting back up on your feet & on 2 wheels & carrying on, your daughter would be proud of you.
I think I can speak for all of your Viewers and subscribers, WE are here for you! It took a real man to say how you feel, and to tell us of your terrible loss, glad you decided to keep going for us, the future can only be brighter! Cheers, DINO and Family.
Hi Dino, thanks mate, your support means a lot to me. Keep yourself and family safe mate, Dave
After hearing your story and reading all the comments, I am genuinely at loss for words. Life is not kind to any of us, and that's a reason to keep going against the wind and be kind to others. 60y old bear here, and he shed a tear for you... A friendly hug from far faar away.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, I felt the hug. Ride safe, Dave
Dave, what an awful experience with your daughter, I feel for you. Please keep the channel going, you’ve given us some great videos - especially the ‘Lost Valley’ around Millington.
Thanks your support and generosity, it means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave

So sorry to hear about your loss. I can’t imagine how hard it’s been. The biker community is as you say the best, we ride as one, never alone.

Dave, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter. As regards your bike I hope the insurance company treats you fairly. Regards Edward.
Thanks for sharing this Dave, so sorry. words are useless mate, sending my love and good will to you and your family. your channel is a blessing to me , and a total pleasure to watch. just thanks for taking the time to make these vids for us, all the best. x

Hi mate, thanks so much. There will always be a pillion seat for any on you who want one. Ride safe, Dave

All our problems are a bit further away when we ride our Royal Enfields, and when we cannot, we have your videos, and those of other friends on youtube, to breath fresh air in front of our screen.
Chin up 👍

Dave, I´m so so so sorry about your daughter. But, looking forward, your reaction is what everybody expects from a gentleman. Nobody can compare between one daughter (or anybody), and a bike. Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Be safe. 👍

Deffo hold you to that 👌👌
Im sorry to hear about your daughter and Ivy . Please look after yourself and chin up mate. I love Fridays when your videos come out and sit here watching them with hubby.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, the videos will keep coming on a Friday. Ride safe, Dave
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
So very hard to find the right words to comment. As a parent, that hit hard. Riding is a type of medication a few of us need. The few that understand the need, no explanation is necessary. God bless.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
That’s a tough story to listen too Dave and then to have your bike trashed ,I feel for you and hope there is a happier ending to that.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
So sorry to hear what has happened to you, please ramble as much as you need to. I can not imagine how you must feel, but we are here for you.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
First of all so sorry for the loss of your daughter, truly heartbreaking for any parent. Credit to the Yorkshire police for trying to put a stop to these thieving scrotes....
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
I came to your channel just looking for reviews of the classic 350. Didn't expect to encounter big life events like these. Stay strong. You're an inspiration.
Sorry for your loss Dave both of them ,I for one will continue to support your channel, I have ptsd and I get how it affect every aspect of life, stay strong 💙
Thanks your support means a lot to me. PTSD is horrible, if you need to talk anytime mate, I'm here. Ride safe, Dave
What a sickening sight to see Ivy trashed like that. It would have been bad enough dealing with her theft but to be be confronted with that would have been horrendous. Add to that your personal tragic story, you have done well to have come back into the light.
Very moving video. Love your vids and your evident love of motorcycles and the countryside. Ivy will be missed but Im glad you will be back
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
That's a really sad story, and I can appreciate how you feel, I've been there. Keep on keeping on, things will get better! Kind regards, Barrie.
HI Barrie, it is the most terrible pain, we will keep going. Stay safe mate, Dave
I've been sat here for over half an hour writing and deleting how to word my message properly, it's difficult to know what to say that hasn't been said already. So I'll keep it simple.
I'm so sorry for your losses, sending love, hugs and prayers to you and your family. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down 🫂 🤗
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
My condolences Dave. Maesy.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Take it easy Dave and keep looking forward to better things. I would definitely be up for a meet sometime. 😀
Thanks your support means a lot to me, defo a ride out. Ride safe, Dave

Hello Dave you have been so courageous in making this video to share with us all. Just to say we're all behind you mate and will be for as long as you need us to be. Here's to better times in the future buddy god knows you deserve it. Best wishes for now, Pete.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Your a good guy Dave and a good exanple of, and to, us bikers in general. Don't forget mate these degenerates will not take over your spirit. Your daughters story is sad but time will heal...if we meet in the future I am sure you will find similar sad stories among your biker pals. Words are inadequate but may be you won't mind me saying a prayer for you , Take care lad.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave

Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
I hope someone in your local motorcycle community hears rumours of the scummy b******s who’s responsible, the damage to Ivy would bring a tear to anyone’s eye, 4 bikes have been stolen local to me over the last 4 days, flogging is too kind for them. Best wishes Dave.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
My heart goes out to you Dave, thank you for sharing and thank you for helping others. We all wish you well and hope the support you have here helps. Keep the faith mate, looking forward to the next chapter and more 350 adventures. Take care mate.
Thanks your support means a lot to me, Ride safe, Dave
Thanks
Mate thats so kind of you, you are such a good person. Stay safe mate, Dave
