How to Setup Diesel Heater! Solution if your power station won’t get heater started/running!

- Complete setup for Silvel 5k diesel heater with the Bluetti EB55 700w power station and also with the Ecoflow 1300w power station. We ran into a slight issue with the DC 12v output port on the Ecoflow being only 8amps and it would not put enough output power to get the heater started up. The heater needs more power in the beginning to get it started up and also for the cool down process. The solution was a separate power supply plugged into the AC outlet that converts back to DC 12V. Good information. That would be nice while camping in the cold. I'm enjoying these product/how to videos, . Keep it up.
Yep! I’ll test it out in my summer tent 😂 and my dad has a roof top tent
I've been watching these heaters for a few years, so I just got the Hcalory all in one, for camping , but I might have to run my generator to power it with 110 v. Anyhoo I bet "the wife" adores that moniker 😂
Great video - Thanks. A few has complainet about spilling diesel, while driving. They solved it by getting a spare cap, and put that on, while going off-road... Have fun
Thanks man! I haven’t had it with me while on bumpy trails and all that yet. I think I saw one person put a sandwich bag over the whole there then screw on the cap and said it worked too 😂🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for the input on the ecoflow delta 2 which is what i have and now know what i need to get that running my heater, thanks guys....
@@andymiles6443 no problem! Happy to help out people when we can!! Thanks 🙏
I will be installing one of these on my Outbound camper in a couple of months. I have several solar power generators, hope at least one of them has the 10 amp DC outlet. Good video, thanks.
Glad I saw this video. It confirmed that my Ecoflow River Pro can’t run my diesel heater which I specifically bought for. I got an AC to DC convertor but it still pulls more watts than if it was just DC. Looking at 30-40 watts on the lowest setting instead of the 4 watts that it should be sipping like yours
Hmm 🤔 was it the same type of power supply convert that we showed in this video? It seemed like, for us, the ecoflow was only pulling just a couple more watts on low and high with that new power supply converter we used plugged into the AC out vs the bluetti using the DC out
The EcoFlow River Pro will run your diesel heater. the output on the cigarette plug is 13.6V at 10 amps. The ecoflow 1300 will not run it because the cigarette plug out put is 12V 8 amps.
@@shelley131 Is this confirmed? I have the river pro and thinking about buying one of these heaters without buying a converter
The River Pro will run your diesel heater if you have one as the cigarette plug output is 13.6V at 10 amps. While it runs with the ac to dc converter it will never be as efficient as your bluetti since the inverter has to be turned on which will use an additional 10 to 12 watts an hour. Great video by the way.
@@shelley131 thanks so much for the extra helpful info!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Very cool! Enjoying your videos. We’re in southeast Tennessee. See y’all on the trail!
Thank you! There’s tons of trails I need to check out down that way and into North GA as well!
The exhaust should point downward to allow any condensation to drip out. Ideally the muffler should run horizontally. You'll notice on the muffler opposite the indentation (with the mounting hole) there is another hole that goes through the seam. That allows moisture to drip out.
@@marceld6061 we figured that out later on 😂. Thanks cause people in comments may need to know. However, there’s other people that have said they have used it for years pointing straight up with no problems. It might depend on where you’re at and the humidity, elevation, etc. the one guy I remember is out west more. 🤷🏻♂️ I’ll prob try to keep it like you said tho!
@@appalachhaun_adventures Tanks. I am on the 'Wet Coast' so it's important for me.
@@marceld6061 now I remember. Lifestyle Overload said he always used his with exhaust pointed up with no problem! Idk 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t want problems so I’ll just keep mine horizontal 😆
I run mine on the AC200Max with the cigarette plug. I also have that same wall power supply.
Lots of good information! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Sir!
the 15a "startup" throws the Error 1. After the startup, itll drop. But the cig lighter plug on most generators are 12a. Wont provide enough power for said "startup" phase. You can use an Xbox power brick also. that works just as good and is a little bit more mobile if you are using it for camping etc
Thanks man
Even if you solve the lubricity problem with kerosene, you have to remember that it's about twice the price per gallon than diesel fuel.
You were able to start it with the EcoFlow? I have the same EcoFlow and it would keep shutting off when I tried starting it.
@@letzgow6110 in the video I show how we did it and the item you will need to purchase.

@@appalachhaun_adventures so I just tried starting up the unit but it would keep burning up the fuse. I killed 5 fuses. I thought maybe I had the live and negative wires backwards so I swapped them but then it didn’t even send any electricity to the fuse. I wired it back to where it kept burning the fuse. At least I know there is a live wire trying to send power to the unit. I’m gonna go to the hardware store tomorrow and see if I can get a larger fuse and see if this does the trick. If not do you have any recommendations?
I’m assuming that diesel heater doesn’t come with a built in fuse? If so I might just remove the fuse from my wiring harness
@@letzgow6110 you used that item we linked from Amazon to be able to run the heater from the A/C outlet on the ecoflow?
Can you use the electrical output in the Gladiator bed to recharge the batteries while you are driving around ?
Haven’t tried it but from my understanding you can and you can also use the 12V cigarette lighter port on the dash to charge it.
I’ll try tomorrow and get back to ya
Does the power supply work with the bluetti?
I’m sure it would but I didn’t need to try it since the Bluetti got the heater running
