The 5 hour AMA with Sean Booth brought me here - fantastic insigts from Steve. Still have my copies of Tricky Disco and 808 State LFO vinyl from 1990 :D
I’m remember when I first heard Track with no Name. Was totally blown away by it. It was on a tape a driver who worked for my Dad had. I was working with him for the day. We went to a record shop towards the end of the day. I managed to buy a copy. Was so stoked. The other bloke bought Welcome by Gino Latino. That was also on the tape and he loved that track. I went home and just played the 12” over and over all evening. Fucking tune 👍
😂 I can not stop to admire how host is chilledout.. Like around 45:00 he catched boards of Canada 😂 he is talking with absolute legend and very hamble guy
When warp started I bought everything. But now it's just shite the man's vision as gone maybe he should get back to the e. Iike he did at the start now its just beer music what a shame.

This is insane. I’m sure this wouldn’t happen in rock. Musical geniuses Mark Pritchard & Hud Mo just casually sitting in the audience. Other big artists were mentioned like they might also be in the room. But Im too lazy to find that part again. I mean you could even just fanboy over the idea that half of the 2 who did “76:14” in 1994 is right there (Mark P. in Global Communication) as just one tiny example. This blows my mind.

@afk_hesh @joshuroland6446 I've already paid for the tunes on vinyl. All of our sets are vinyl, and we do not monetize off our live streams this is our channel www.youtube.com/@DistantPlanetTV/videos Actually reading my post from 3 years ago I probably would buy new vinyl stuff on Warp. but I avoid playing any Warp tunes in a set which is being recorded for TH-cam which is a shame as there are so many amazing tunes from 1990/91 If we could make a contribution to the artist to avoid the sets being taken down I would happily do so.
The audience is horrified when he's talking about the illegal warehouse parties and being off your face on ecstasy back in the day. Kids from the 00's onward are so tame and well behaved compared to back then.
doesn't youtube suck for not actually promoting interesting things but the same old content and old faces. really youtube, you are a disgrace. hate this platform, never can find anything worthwhile. youtube isn't really doing it's job of distributing content.
Don't you have to search first before its suggestions begin to get spicy? Like, maybe start a new account without any of your old searches, and start afresh.

Why does this not have more views? Warp is a super important label.
Yeah kinda surprised as well
Essentially I'd say it;s a marketing issue on Red Bull's part.
My favorite label. Boards. Aphex. This is it right here.
Cause Warp is old and Redbull is corny.
it's also a little 'underground'
Warp Records, a legendary label that had some of the most innovative talents. I'll never forget.
I needed to hear the “the equipment can get in the way” bit.
Yeah that leapt out at me immediately too - what a great interview I completely missed this at the time.
Steve Beckett is a legend. Warp is everything good in UK culture. X
i appreciate the interviewer for his restraint in letting the guy talk

Broadcast, stereolab, aphex twin, boards of canada. Wow…. What a label… some of my favourite artist on one.
This interview makes me happy.
Thank you for ALL the great music I found back at the turn of the century. I still follow and really enjoy a lot of the new project's.
There should be at least 1 hour dedicated to BoC
This is by far the best red bull interview/lecture
rp boo one
Warp was a touchstone for my musical education in the 90s went to a few parties back in the day in Sheffield!
The most wonderful label on the earth.
Great music, awesome design from TDR, a perfect marriage.

He sounds a lot like Brian Cox lol
what BOC song did he play???😢
Aphex and BOC
Amazing platform.
Amazing label.
Why can we not listen to the songs on these podcasts when you are literally talking to the founder of the label the music is on???
warp ©policy is going full throttle on youtube! So many channels disappeared because of this.

From a 2020 perspective, it looks like most things he predicted in 2007 came true.
Absolutely agree
Nice, it’s good to know he was thinking like this back then.
Very interesting stuff. Still compelling in 2021
"Just pay people" what a legend
Jimi Tenor and Broadcast were two of the Warp's best ever signings... imagine if they'd worked together!
Broadcast 😍🙏🏼
Don’t forget Luke Vibert & Squarepusher
LFO is the best signing. Mark Bell was a genius
Probably the most forgettable😂
Please can you upload the Mark Pritchard interview?
Can anyone list me tracks played in this interview pls?
